Taskade Genesis is an AI app builder. You describe an app in plain English, and Taskade Genesis builds a live app with its data, AI agents, automations, and interface.
TL;DR: Taskade Genesis turns one prompt into a hosted app that stores data in projects, thinks with AI agents, and acts with automations. You build on every plan, Free included. Sign-in, version history, and the Let others clone control are on every plan. A custom domain needs Business or above. Start with Create Your First App.
What is Taskade Genesis?
Taskade Genesis is the AI app builder inside Taskade: one prompt produces a working, hosted app that you change by chat.
- You describe it. Name the users, the data, and the result. Taskade Genesis builds the rest.
- It is live at once. The app opens in a preview while it builds. You publish it with one click.
- It keeps growing. Ask Taskade EVE for a change, or click an element in the preview and describe the edit.
The 4 DNA Layers
Every app has four layers. The first three are Workspace DNA: Memory, Intelligence, and Execution.
| Layer | Role | What it does in your app | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Projects | Memory | Store records in multiple project views: List, Board, Table, Mind Map, and more | Client records, orders, tickets |
| AI agents | Intelligence | Read your data, answer questions, write, and decide | Lead scorer, support helper |
| Automations | Execution | Run steps when something happens, across 100+ integrations | New order → Slack message |
| App interface | Interface | Show pages, forms, and dashboards to the people who use the app | Client portal, booking form |
New entries from the app go back into your projects. The loop then starts again with fresh data.

How It Works
You go from a prompt to a live app in five stages. Repeat the last stage as the app grows.
- Prompt. Describe the users, the data, the actions, and the result.
- Build. Taskade Genesis creates the projects, agents, automations, and pages together.
- Test. Use the app in the preview. If an error card shows, click Fix with AI.
- Publish. Pick a visibility, then copy the link.
- Improve. Ask Taskade EVE for one change at a time. Each change is saved in the version history.
Prompt Examples
Ask for one app with a clear boundary. Send one prompt, test the result, then add the next part.
A weak prompt names only a topic: Make me a CRM. A strong prompt names the users, the data, the actions, and what to leave out.
Client portal
Build a client portal for a small accounting firm. Clients submit a request with their
name, email, request type, and documents. Store each request in a project named Client
Requests with the status Received, In review, or Filed. Show my team a board grouped by
status. Do not add sign-in, payments, or a custom domain yet.
Why this works: The prompt names the status values, so the board uses the same stages from the first build. Add sign-in later as its own step.
Lead tracker with an AI agent
Build a lead tracker for a wedding photographer. A public form collects name, email,
wedding date, venue, and budget. Save each lead in a project named Leads. Add an agent
that scores each lead as Hot, Warm, or Cold and writes one sentence on why. Do not send
emails yet.
Why this works: The agent gets a fixed set of scores, so every lead gets a label that you can sort and filter.
Booking app with an automation
Build a booking app for a dog grooming salon. Customers pick a service, a date, and a
time slot. Save each booking in a project named Bookings. When a booking comes in, send
a Slack message to the #front-desk channel. Do not add sign-in yet.
Why this works: The prompt names the trigger and the action, so Taskade Genesis builds the automation with the app.
Try a different starting point
Build an internal inventory tool for a coffee shop. Staff log each delivery with item,
quantity, supplier, and date. Show a table of stock levels and flag any item under 10
units in red. Do not make the app public.
Taskade Genesis vs Code Tools
Code tools give you source files. Taskade Genesis gives you a hosted app with its data, agents, and automations already connected.
| Code generators | Taskade Genesis | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | Source files that you host | A live, hosted app |
| Database | You connect one | Built in, as projects |
| AI agents | You build them | Built in |
| Automations | You build them | Built in, 100+ integrations |
| Hosting and security certificate | You set them up | Included |
| Changes | Re-prompt, then deploy again | Chat, then publish |
| Source code | The files you received | Pro and above: Code tab, Download .tsk, Export to GitHub |
vs. Productivity Tools
Project tools organize the work. Taskade Genesis also builds the app that does the work.
| Capability | Typical project tool | Taskade Genesis |
|---|---|---|
| Structured data and views | Yes | Yes, multiple project views |
| Custom AI agents | Limited | Yes, trained on your projects |
| Automations | Basic rules | Branches, loops, AI steps, 100+ integrations |
| Full app from a prompt | No | Yes, hosted |
| Access control | Workspace roles | Role-based access from Owner to Viewer, plus App User sign-in for visitors |
Pricing (Annual Billing)
You build with Taskade Genesis on every plan. Paid plans add apps, agents, runs, credits, and publishing controls.
| Plan | Price | What it adds for Taskade Genesis |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 apps, 1 agent, 10 automation runs per billing period, sign-in, Let others clone |
| Pro | $10/mo billed annually | Unlimited apps and agents, AI Teams, password, webhooks, code export |
| Business | $25/mo billed annually | Custom domain, branding and SEO, analytics |
| Max | $100/mo billed annually | TSK-Reasoning, the model tier for complex apps |
| Enterprise | $250/mo billed annually | SCIM, bring your own AI key |
Building and changing an app uses AI credits. Taskade Genesis uses frontier models from top AI labs. TSK-Auto and TSK-Instant work on every plan. TSK-Standard and TSK-Thinking, the tier for bigger apps, need a paid plan. TSK-Reasoning needs Max or Enterprise. See current pricing and AI Models and Credits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Taskade Genesis free to use?
Yes. Every plan can build apps, Free included. The Free plan holds 3 apps in a workspace and includes a one-time AI credit grant.
Can visitors sign in to a Taskade Genesis app?
Yes, on every plan. Sign-in confirms who a visitor is. To show each person only their own records, turn on row scoping, match records to the login, and test with a second account.
Which plan do I need for a custom domain?
A custom domain needs the Business plan or above. Each workspace can connect 1 domain, and a higher credits / month level adds more. You can connect a domain that you own or buy one in Taskade.
Can I undo a change to my app?
Yes. Open Version history in the preview toolbar, pick a version, and restore it. A restore brings back the design and code. Your data stays as it is.
Can other people clone or buy my app?
Yes. Open Let others clone and pick Free or Paid. A clone copies the code, agents, automations, and projects. Connected accounts and secrets are never copied.
Can I get the source code of my app?
Yes, on Pro and above. Open the Code tab, download a .tsk file, or export the app to GitHub. In the Code tab you can also edit an existing file and save it to rebuild the app. On Free, the Code tab shows a locked preview.
