Giri Fox shared thisHelping FCDO achieve dramatic agentic automation has been a remarkable journey. With over 40 agents in production, with significant results because they’re for use-cases at the grass roots.Giri Fox shared thisWhat a fabulous honour and privilege to be nominated for best Data and AI team at this evenings DataIQ awards. We didn't win.....darn you ITV.....but to be shortlisted alongside such large and digitally enabled private sector organisations just shows how far we have come as an organisation Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office . I've tried my very best to build a team that feels they are empowered to just get on with trying to address the opportunities we have with AI and credit has to go to Ayser A. who took the mantle and ran with with it....creating our FCDO Catalyst team...along with Haroon Mazhar Elliott Batchelor and now Kate Brand . Massive thank you to our partners Scale Factory (formerly Ten10) in this endeavour especially Sean Bailey who has lead the team on the ground delivering brilliant results.. Giri Fox reposted thisHonoured (and honestly so proud) to share that our team at Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Scale Factory (formerly Ten10) has been shortlisted for Best Large AI Team of the Year at the DataIQ Awards! A few of us are heading to the ceremony tomorrow night, and it has given us a great moment to step back and reflect on how far we have come. When operating at our scale, the easiest trap to fall into is getting caught in perpetual discovery. As a scale factory, we deliberately set out to change that rhythm: working hand-in-hand with the business to focus relentlessly on value while maximising the tools we have today, all while laying the groundwork for even bigger achievements as new capabilities land. Having genuine autonomy from leadership to get in and make real change has been the ultimate game-changer for us. A few reflections on what got us here: 🙌 Empowered to deliver: Having the trust and autonomy from our leadership to roll up our sleeves, make bold moves, and drive genuine transformation. (Richard Browne Ayser A. Haroon Mazhar Kate Brand 🎯 Driven by business value: Listening closely to what the FCDO actually needs so we deliver real impact right now with our current toolkit, while building the ambition for what is next as more capability gets unlocked. 🔗 Connected systems: Moving past isolated tech to build real cohesion across a massive organisational footprint so our agents actually work together smoothly. ⚡ Focusing on delivery: Swapping endless exploration for rapid execution, while cross-referencing against the best across central government to make sure we are constantly raising the bar. 🚀 Stretching the limits: Partnering with top leaders in the field and onboarding new tech at speed. Honestly, it feels like we are still just scratching the surface of what we can do. Whether we take home the trophy tomorrow or not, the real win has been watching our culture shift to one that moves fast, tests boundaries, and delivers real change. Huge shoutout to the whole Scale Factory (formerly Ten10) Ash Gawthorp Blair Dobson #FCDO #DataIQ #AI #PublicSector #DigitalTransformation #TeamworkGiri Fox reposted thisWe are thrilled to share that Scale Factory has been shortlisted for Best Data or AI Team - UK at the 2026 DataIQ Awards! This nomination recognises our work alongside the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), delivering robust data and AI capabilities where confidence, security, and quality are paramount. Huge congratulations to our team and our partners at the FCDO. The winners will be announced on 17th September in London - wish us luck!

Giri Fox shared thisWe're growing because we're solving customer problems in cloud infra, AI enablement, agentic automation, and quality engineering. We have recently delivered AI prioritisation in sales-motion improvements for a DevOps ISV, an AI maturity assessment for a charitable bank, test automation within a financial regulator, and automated FOI and Subject Access Request triage for central government, while keeping humans in charge. Welcome to Sarah Robson, solution marketing in my leadership team, and Basak Temel, Adam Christopher and James Lang in sales reporting to William Hall. Plus, we are still hiring in our test, and AWS practices.

Giri Fox shared thisAmazon Quick should be interesting for organisations with heterogeneous infrastructure. It's like an agentic enterprise AI assistant and cross-stack automation platform. If you have logs, databases or objects in AWS, devops tools like Jira, documents in Microsoft Sharepoint, market context in Salesforce, plus other complications, then want to get insights across the graph, and achieve automation, you should evaluate it. Giri Fox shared thisTrust is non-negotiable in the public sector. Public trust is slow to earn and quick to lose, and no productivity gain is worth forfeiting it. Experience working with central government teams reinforces this point. In one programme supported by our team of forward-deployed engineers (FEDs), a disciplined approach to prioritisation, assurance and governance helped move AI beyond isolated pilots and into day-to-day delivery, enabling the deployment of 40 live agents within a secure government environment. The programme reclaimed more than 400,000 hours and tracked £12.1 million in annual cost savings across validated projects, illustrating what becomes possible when AI becomes part of operational delivery rather than a standalone experiment. For government and regulated industries, the bar is naturally higher, as AI cannot be separated from accountability. The people delivering essential services have to understand how a system behaves, where the risks sit and how a decision can be explained after the fact. As AI starts to shape service delivery and citizen outcomes, explainability and resilience matter as much as efficiency. - Taken from our CTO Ash Gawthorp's article in Open Access Government magazine, July 2026

Giri Fox shared thisI'm hiring. Product Marketing Management for services is one of the most important disciplines needed to improve a GTM engine, increasing sales and marketing effectiveness by harnessing the untapped stories within a company's capability. As part of levelling-up Scale Factory (formerly Ten10)'s combined services for cloud, data, agentic AI, automation and quality engineering, plus forward-deployed pods, I'm bringing in a solutions marketing manager. This is an important role so will report directly to me. We also have five sales roles open, so check that out if you're in services sales. https://lnkd.in/e5GtVXE2

Giri Fox posted thisI'm hiring five sales people and a solutions marketing manager. Here's the straight-shooting. 🎯 POSITIONING: We believe confidence in foundations is earned. Through engineering excellence, foundational rigour, deep situational understanding and security-cleared capability, always delivered on-shore. As organisations scale, you need confidence in your technical foundations and your ability to transform. We build dependable foundations that give leaders the confidence to make bold moves that drive growth. 🎒 WHAT YOU’D SELL: We are a services firm with depth in Cloud, Quality and Data Engineering, combined with AI enablement and Agentic Automation. (We are actually delivering AI results for our customers. We have measured impact from delivery reviews. This isn’t posturing.) We have great depth in quality, AI use-case analysis, testing and assurance. For all our technology domains, we also offer forward-deployed engineers supported by bright junior consultants, who we hire to transfer to our customers as retained talent. We truly enrich customer organisations, because we leave an enduring capability in cloud, AI, agentic automation, data and quality. Cleared for security. 🏙️ MARKET: We sell to customers who operate in regulated industries, with complicated infrastructure, or who have limited freedoms. This includes financial services, defence industry, police, logistics, retail, professional services firms, utilities, government, health, and software vendors. We also help agile AWS companies with migration, security, infrastructure, SaaS-maturity and AI, plus larger firms to imitate their disruptors. 👓 BRAND: this week we combined our heritage in quality, automation, and recruit-train-deploy, formerly Ten10, with our data and cloud engineering teams, under the one name: Scale Factory. We have over 400 people and 18 years of building long-term customers now under a singular brand. The logo looks epic on swag. 👤 YOU: We are hiring sales people who can represent these disciplines into our target markets, so we’d expect depth in one or more areas. I will also soon advertise a solutions /product marketing manager. We want builders with initiative, character and drive. You’ll find a welcoming group, with momentum to succeed. We give leaders the infrastructure, assurance and operational confidence to move faster, take smarter risks and pursue AI-driven transformation. Come join us. Links in comments.

Giri Fox liked thisGiri Fox liked thisIn 1997, Harry Beckwith wrote Selling the Invisible. 29 years later, it’s still one of the best books I’ve read for anyone selling their expertise. Here’s 6 ideas that make selling a service a lot less confusing: 1. If you're selling a service, you're selling a relationship Since you’re selling something intangible, people can’t touch, smell, or try it out beforehand. The way you INTERACT with the client and the relationship you build becomes the actual product. It’s not secondary - it’s literally the main thing. 2. Your #1 job is to remove fear Paying for something you can't see is scary, so your core job goes from trying to sound like a genius to just making the client feel safe. Instead of saying, "I can fix this," tell them exactly how it's going to go: "First we do this, then we do that, and if things get stuck, here's how we handle it." Clarity is the name of the game. 3. A higher price makes the right people feel safer Pricing is a proxy for quality. That’s just how it is. When it comes to services, price is one of the first things people use to guess how good you are, simply because they have nothing else concrete to evaluate. This is especially true with bigger clients. Cheap prices repel the exact people you actually want to work with. 4. Clients judge the small things before they judge the big things Most clients don't actually know if your strategy is brilliant. But they definitely know if you took three days to reply to an email, or if your invoice was confusing. They use the small things they can see to judge the expertise they can't. 5. Your biggest competitor is inaction, not other companies You almost never lose a deal to another firm. You lose because hiring someone is a headache, and doing nothing is easy. Don’t try to prove why you're better than the competition. Just point out exactly what it costs them to keep living with the problem. 6. Satisfaction is just the gap between what you promise and what you deliver If you promise the world just to close the deal, even great work will feel like a letdown later. Keep it simple: set a baseline expectation you know you can beat, and then just do a little bit more than you promised. --- I first came across this book years ago, and it completely changed how I think about client work. It’s very short and you can go through it in an evening. Highly recommended for anyone who sells expertise for a living.

Giri Fox liked thisGiri Fox liked thisI have recently found out I've ruined so many perfectly enjoyable meetings. Someone says, "We should look into that." Everyone nods. Great energy in the room. We could wrap early. 😊 Then I ask, "Who's going to look into it?" 🤠 Silence. Eventually someone volunteers, and the meeting starts to recover. So I ask, "When will we know what you found?" 🤠 There goes the rest of the good mood. I know it can feel annoying in the moment. It's much more fun to leave a meeting agreeing that something SHOULD happen than to find out whether anyone actually has the time, information, or authority to do it. But if we can't answer those questions while we're all in the room, we haven't made a decision. We've just had a nice conversation. And I do love a nice conversation. I just don't want to have the same one again next Tuesday. What's your go-to question to ruin a "nice conversation"?

Giri Fox liked thisGiri Fox liked thisHow to write a great outreach email that gets a reply, based on hands-on work with 320+ B2B teams ⤵️ Samantha McKenna runs #samsales Consulting, an all-women firm that trains B2B teams how to get better at top-of-the-funnel sales, LinkedIn strategy, and executive branding. Everyone is chasing an AI-generated email that feels 1:1. It doesn't work, according to Sam. What DOES work right now: > Use a subject line that breaks the traditional inbox pattern Your goal should be to pique curiosity and signal effort before the buyer opens your email. Sam's rule: it should make absolutely no sense except to the person reading it. > Open with the authentic connection Reference what you found and say something real about it. The connection has to be genuine; a hollow name-drop is worse than nothing. > Transition from human connection to pitch Most people include an opener and then blow it. You need a bridge that stays buyer-focused: what challenge do your current customers have that you’ve solved for them? > Frame the problem at the 300-foot level Make it concrete, specific, and immediately recognizable to the buyer. > Preempt the objection before they raise it Buyers are already objecting in their heads while reading; name it and get around it. This signals: I have a brain, I’ve thought about you, time with me won’t be wasted. > Close with an implicit invitation The buyer will respond because they respect the effort. > Send the email on a Thurs or Fri, then follow-up over the weekend Execs are often working Saturday morning to close the loop and Sunday night to prep for the week (or because they’re already on a plane). You’re reaching them when nobody else is making an effort, at the moment they’re actually thinking. --- Read all of Sam's advice in today's Growth Unhinged newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gAEd3Yy8 There's so much 🔥 wisdom here about how to run an intro call, how to reply to buyer objections, and much more. Hope you find it useful 🙏 --- Today's newsletter is supported by Profound. After raising a $180M Series D last week, they're hosting a live demo of their AI marketer. Giri Fox liked thisGiri Fox liked thisSome great graffiti for the physics nerds spotted in Bayonne, France In case you're not familiar, this references the famous double slit experiment The experiment shows one of the strangest things in quantum physics: measuring a particle can change what it does Without measuring which slit they go through, 2 particles like electrons and photons produce an interference pattern, behaving like waves (shown on the top) But when a detector records which path they take, that interference disappears (shown on the bottom) And “observation” doesn’t mean a conscious human watching In quantum physics, observation means a physical interaction that allows information about the particle’s path to be obtained, like a detector interacting with the particle Even if nobody ever looks at the detector, simply creating that “which-path” information can destroy the interference pattern Physics is weird #Physics #Science #STEM

Giri Fox liked thisGiri Fox liked thisIf youre trying to get a deal across the finish line over the next week that youre afraid is stalling, DO NOT add any more pressure. Use this magnetic email framework from Nate Nasralla instead: Rewrite the follow up so the buyer finishes reading it feeling AHEAD of schedule. Name the % thats already done, then hand them the next 3 steps. A team we work with had a deal stall ahead of a June sprint. The follow up they sent looks a lot like ones Ive sent in the last week of more quarters than Id like to admit: "Im concerned were falling behind on our timelines. If we cant confirm next steps, were going to have to delay the rollout. How can I help?" No bueno. Its the end of the quarter for your buyer too, folks. That person was already behind on 40 other things, and your email just became numero 41. And "let me know how I can help" asks an overwhelmed person to build the plan themselves. They wont. Try something like this instead: "Turns out youre actually ahead of schedule based on the library we built last project. Were about 45% done. We just need to knock out steps 4, 5 and 6. Has anything on timing changed on your side?" Same facts but with the opposite pull. Nate calls it tone inversion, and whatever state your buyer is in this week, theres a version for it: - Hasnt gotten buy-in yet? "We put together a 1 page summary for your CFO. Want me to send something you can forward?" - Distracted by 6 other fires? "Since we last spoke, [thing] happened that affects [their priority]. Figured youd want to know." - Nervous about pulling the trigger? "Teams that started where you are usually see [result] inside [timeframe]. Ill send what the first 30 days looked like." Before anything goes out this week, run Nates 5P check: 1. Problem (theirs, in THEIR words). 2. Priority (the initiative their exec already named). 3. Progress (they finish it feeling ahead). 4. Path (numbered steps, small ones). 5. Pull (would you wanna answer it?). I think we can all agree by now that "just checking in" shouldnt get sent at all, and DEFINITELY not in the last 7 days of a quarter. The magnetic version is also shorter, which I enjoy. Try it on the deal youre freaking out about this week. Id bet decent money you get a reply before the 30th.

Sellers don't close deals, buyers do. Wanna bet? Microsoft's tech stack, platform cybersecurity vendors & the new AI-native security cohort represent rapid engines for growth for the UK Channel community. Top drivers include: 1. Clients prioritising market position and the need to act in partnership to address; "Everyone is moving faster than us and we cannot see how to catch up." 2. Many cybersecurity initiatives have budgets too small to trust. Underinvesting in a stated priority doesn't reduce risk, it widens it. The latest AI-native security vendors struggle to get the mindshare of Channel scale. 3. If the driver is cost, customers will choose on price. If the driver is speed, price barely registers and the only question that matters is who can move them fastest without breaking anything. Many are still competing hard in the first category while the money moves to the second. Three quality changes CROs can make to accelerate their sales engines. 1. Stop tracking internal arbitrary sales stages based on quotes, and proposal submissions. Track evidence of what buyers actually do against how your best deals closed. If pipeline management is the same today as 12+ months ago without being challenged and win rates aren't improving you must adapt the system. 2. Replicate your best clients with repeatable service deals. "I've seen this before, this is what worked and didn't work and why" continues to be the intelligence layer partners have always had access to but is rarely seen codified and consistently used in GTM. 3. Key account treatment can extend downmarket into mid-market and upper SMB (or up!). Build a system that reinforces the moments that build trust in each segment. These moments create and kill deals you as the seller are not in the room for. "Thinking in bets starts with recognising that there are exactly two things that determine how our lives turn out: the quality of our decisions and luck. Learning to recognise the difference between the two is what thinking in bets is all about." - Annie Duke. Don't leave the activation of your new business sales engine to chance.

Sales Tip #191 Is Hard Copy Cold Outreach the New Black? ✉️ "You may have seen the recent letter from the UK Government to FTSE 350 boards that highlights the rise in hostile cyber activity and stresses the need for... strong supply chain controls and proactive resilience." "[Company] provides real detection and fast response" This company decided to send this message via a physical letter as part of their cold outreach. Am I to expect their SOC alerts to come through the same channel? Or perhaps they'll escalate via carrier pigeon? 🐦⬛ At the bottom of the letter, they've stuck on a QR code with "Book A Meeting" written next to it I am almost lost for words (I said almost, I'm never actually lost for words.) This security company expects a CISO to book a meeting by scanning a QR code. A QR code which isn't event printed on the letter - it's a sticker. Do they know what a MitM attack is? Or quishing? Or is this rage-bait marketing? A new form of phishing LARP? The letter signs off with: ✉️ "Even if we never work together, you will get something useful from the conversation" That is very bold statement, and one I doubt very much. --- In response to my initial question: no, hard copy cold outreach is not the new black. A physical letter does not add credibility. It does not make your message more "serious" It's a waste of paper, postage... and everyone's time. And please - for the love of god - will security suppliers STOP SENDING MATERIAL THAT RESEMBLES PHISHING. You are undermining your position and infuriating prospects. #SalesTip #SpamScamOrSales #LifeAsACISO #Phishing #SnailMail 📎

G-Cloud Relaunch Brings Biggest Ever Upgrade, Opening New Opportunities for UK SME Suppliers For UK SMEs selling cloud services, the relaunch of G-Cloud is more than a framework refresh. It signals a meaningful shift in how public sector cloud buying may work over the next four years. According to the Government Commercial Agency announcement, G-Cloud 15 opens an estimated £14 billion in opportunities and places SME access at the centre of the redesign. What has changed with G-Cloud 15 The biggest structural change is consolidation. G-Cloud 15 merges three previously separate frameworks into one commercial agreement, making it easier for buyers to procure cloud requirements in one place. For suppliers, that reduces fragmentation. For buyers, it should reduce administrative friction. The government says this is the “most significant upgrade” since G-Cloud began in 2012. It also states that around 90% of suppliers are small and medium sized enterprises, which is a strong signal that SME participation remains a core policy objective, not a side note. #CyberJourno #CyberEssentials #CyberResilience #CyberSafe #CyberSecurity #Cybersecurity #NCSC #SME #SMECyberInsights #SMECybersecurity #SMECyberInsights #ThreatIntelligence #Securus https://lnkd.in/e5skUtT4
