Terrible support experience, unable to return product
I ordered a tablet online.
- When I received it, I requested to return my product following the instructions on the return form.
- Days later (Monday, 24th August) I received an email telling me that DPD would come collect the device on Thursday. They added in the message that in case the driver didn't have a returns label (?) I should just write the address on the package.
- I responded asking if I could be given a more concrete time slot and how would I have proof and track my return if the driver didn't have the label. No response. I also didn't get any notification from DPD saying they would come.
- On Thursday DPD didn't show up.
- At the end of the day, I waited in line 30 minutes to talk to someone in support. I asked if I could be given a return label so I could simply go and drop off the device. The agent said he would me a QR code. This took a while and finally he confirmed he had sent it but "it take a while to arrive". The QR code never arrived in my inbox.
- On Friday I sent a new email to support. I also called them again. New agent told me that actually QR code wouldn't work because in Ireland there's no drop-off option for returns. She said I would receive a new email with confirmation of DPD collection. It sounded like she was simply filling in a new return request , the same I had filled in originally , and as I attempted to get an explanation of what steps she was taking and what would be different this time, would I receive a notification from DPD, etc, I was met with the same apathy as the previous call.
- Hours after this call I still didn't get any email. Seems impossible to organise a simple return. Appalling experience.
- Update: It is now Tuesday September 1st, I still didn't get any email from Currys to resolve this or from DPD about a pick-up.
