Good but could be improved
I liked the car and the overall efficiency of the service. It took 30 minutes to be collected from the airport after calling them but it was efficient from there. Being off airport it was a more relaxed pick up and everything went pretty smoothly. The car was similar to the one I booked. The return was fine and we were returned to the airport very quickly. My gripe is with the toll thing. I ended up paying £44 in toll charges for a return trip from the airport to Lourinhã and a return to Sintra both on the A8. Ai says I would have needed to take at least 5 trips to have reached the figure I paid and I thought it was odd at the time but was assured I would be refunded any overpayment. Perhaps that refund is yet to come but as I am asked for a review immediately, my concern is I have been overcharged for the tolls. If the refund comes I would give Masterkings (the hire company through Zest) 4 stars.

Excellent service from start to finish
Excellent service from start to finish. I had to call for assistance at the airport when the pick up office was unmanned and was astonished to have the call answered by a human who made contact with the agent and rang back promptly with assurances.

Top Class Car Rental Broker
I've been using Zest Car Rental for a few years now (after my previous rental broker folded). From the very start I have been delighted with the service, pricing and coverage I have received. Selecting the car is easy. Payment is straight forward and the instructions received are always clear. On our recent trip to Faro, our flight was changed to a later time which meant that we might collect the car after official hours. I queried this before travelling and my mind was put at ease. On the day of travel we had a delay and the EES process to contend with at Faro. I called Zest to advise that I might be later than 8.00pm to collect the car and they advised the provider. Finally, I mistakenly thought that I had been charged a late collection fee even though I collected the car in time. Zest's online help service looked into this for me and sorted/explained everything. In conclusion, I can't fault Zest and will remain a customer for the future. Thanks Zest.

From navigating a well structured easy to follow website site, with clear price breakdown and reasonably priced added insurance peace of mind - Zest was excellent. I had no need, thankfully, to contact Zest during the hire period, but having a 24/7 dedicated UK customer service agent on stand by also provided a level of care other providers did not. This was my first experience with Zest and can report no faults. I will definitely use again.

Website was user friendly which made it quick and easy to place my order.
At Palma airport collection process was straightforward, just followed the car hire signs then followed Record Go signs to check in desk. It was so easy I don’t know why I was so worried about it all.
Drop off at the end of our holiday was easy, we followed to signs for car rental, then for Record Go, found a parking slot and unloaded our luggage. The were many operatives around who dealt with checking the car over and that was it. All done in 5 mins flat. FANTASTIC ***** 10/10

Hertz at Nantes...
reasonable rental price; extra insurance cover also at reasonable price; pick up was straightforward.
We had requested a manual, but only automatics were available at the Hertz desk. Don't usually like driving automatics, but as it turned out it proved a decent drive and got used to auto quite quickly.
Had some issues in finding the entrance to the Hertz car park when returning the car - clear directions would have helped.

Booked car with zest rental.
Unfortunately somehow misplaced my licence between uk and spain.
Rental company wanted to charge 300+ euros to remove excess charge as my husband was the 2nd driver.
Called zest out of hours, Paul tried to help but rental company were not happy.
So at 2am with 3 exhausted children had to trek back to airport and get a taxi worried about loosing our rental money.
Called zest again the next day, spoke to the lovely Harriet and explained what had happened. She offered an immediate full refund.
She then helped us rebook a new car with small additional charge to remove the excess so we could have no further stress or issues.
She was fabulous, professional, empathetic and efficient. Amazing customer service. Thank you again Harriet!! You saved the holiday.
