BOL ON ICE 2026: Palasport di Casalecchio (Unipol Arena) pieno.
Zero bus / navette alla conclusione dell’evento (h. 22:40) verso una qualunque destinazione. Geniale!
Trains and (replacement) buses are completely unreliable.
Several days we tried getting to and from Bologna Central, and every time there was a very long delay (on the *only* journey we managed to make by train), multiple trains were just cancelled.
Yesterday (on a Saturday) we waited 1,5 hours for replacement bus (together a large number of Italians that were dumped as well) but that never came.
Some to another destination showed up, but the drivers were *very* rude when I _calmly_ asked if there would be a bus to our destination.
We had to use a taxi - which costs more than parking your car all day near Bologna...
After this we will definitely go by car.
my experience with this transport company was horrible.
Being on vacation, maybe I didn't know the transport regulations. Anyway, I bought the bus ticket, 1 minute after the controller, a thin brunette girl, took my details, saying I was late.
The machines on the bus work poorly, the Revolut ticket transactions don't even appear from the first. The 115 euro fine? This is unacceptable.
Bologna is gorgeous, but I will never visit it again because of this. Shame on you!
I want my money back.
Avoid traveling bus with TPer, stay outside Bologna and use a car!
Bus are always late, full with homeless people especially during night. One time the bus driver stopped the bus in the middle of the route, and just left the bus because no one came to replace her.
As a tourist experience it for one month, it gives a very bad image on Italy, and ability to make things done.
I hope that their license will be revoked and replaced with another company

The marconi express is out of service and the company replaces it with a bus which takes 4 times the time of the shuttle and makes it pay THE SAME AMOUNT which is already exorbitant for the shuttle. Without considering thar the closure of the marconi wasn't mentioned anywhere online.
They are just a joke.
Riding on TPer buses in Bologna, particularly line 36 on a hot day is a disgrace. By the time you finish you ride and get off the bus you you might as well have gone to a sauna! Passengers deserve a little more respect! Turn on the air conditioning for heaven’s sakes! And the drivers! Some of them drive like maniacs and have no regard for the elderly when they get on the bus. They stop and start and turn with jolts forgetting that a fall for an elderly person could be a life-threatening injury. Have some care!
Totally unreliable, overpriced company. You pay only €1.50 for the ticket, but the buses are still late. I waited for an hour and 10 minutes for the bus, 5 of them were supposed to arrive during that time, when I finally got on, the inspector got on immediately. I learned from my previous mistakes and I preferred to buy the ticket in the machine because application is UNRELIABLE, although you buy a ticket that withdraws money, but then you have to activate it using a camera that you have to point at a special device located on the bus like some IT specialist.. the application is only in Italian so if you don't know Italian you are lost, which was also my case, since I bought the ticket but didn't activate it, because I had no idea how, since I don't speak Italian. I paid an incredible €77 fine to the inspector, who had not an iota of compassion even when I am a student, a tourist, I bought a ticket but I don't speak Italian, so I don't know how to activate it. Buses are always late. prepare for that even an hour and a half. Forget about this company, if you are traveling to the airport, take the overpriced Macroni express for €11, a 7-minute journey. I wish the quality of this company was as good as tickets are quality checked by inspectors :)
have a nice day and never travel with this company ;)
Have just come back to Bologna from a day out to Rimini. We took the bus back to our apartment. The bus was totally full and we could not get to the front ticket machine to swipe our cards. Three bus inspectors arrived on the bus and started to check tickets. We had tickets for our kids but not the other 3 adults. We were fined over 200 euro. While I totally accept we should have pushed old women out of the way to get to the ticket machine at the front of the bus but we didn’t. The 3 very large and aggressive men hassled us demanding all sorts. They refused to give me their names or show their ID. It was a very unsettling experience and has definitely made us think about coming back to a country that treats its visitors with such disrespect and intimidation.
I was fined for not having a ticket, no questions asked. There were no places to buy the ticket and all self-service machines were out of order.
You may say I actually deserved it, however in Italy ticket officers know well how hard it is to buy a ticket at a late hour and know that self-service machines are often out of order.
Back to my experience, the worst part was that the ticket officers broke the law while checking another passenger's ticket. The girl argued, they got aggressive and tried to seize her bag. When they realized she knew her rights, they started to find excuses as they're not allowed to do that and it can be punished with up to 4 years.
I've also tried to contest the fine on their website, but of course the form on their website doesn't work properly.
For context, in the Italian reviews, many people are complaining they've been fined unfairly for any minor mistake, like marking the ticket on the wrong side.
Worst experience in all my life. They just fined me without even trying to understand the situation. I am a foreigner and I was about to pay the ticket. It was my first time in bologna
If I could give it a lower rating I would, no question. I had payed for the annual ticket and they gave me a fine because it was not “activated”. They take your money, they don’t even consider anything. They don’t inform about the “activation period” for the annual ticket. I was charged a 77 euro fine because I didn’t have my ticket activated. Take into account that this was the day before it was supposed to activate, even worse, it was only 6 hours before it got “officially activated”. I payed for it a week prior to this, no sense at all. I always payed for the tickets using contactless and the one bus that didn’t have the machine is where they got in to look for people without ticket, it’s discriminatory against tourist and foreigners. Please, someone has to do something about this.
Worst transport company ever.
Drivers switch lanes without signalling and they're also dangerous for the people inside their buses because they're incapable of driving normally. Old people should avoid using this company. My mom had lots of bad experiences, too.
The company is always on useless strikes.
Drivers don't speak English.
Buses like 94 are dirty, hot, overcrowded and sometimes people faint.
Not only do drivers avoid stopping and getting you in, but they sometimes also skip bus stops even if you pushed the button one minute earlier.
The buses they have are not manufactured in Italy and they exploit inner space very badly.
And I could go on for hours...
Worst bus service ever i have seen in my life. Always sciopero.
To the metropolitan public transport company operating in Bologna, we have a few questions: How is it possible to operate different bus lines within different transport zones with different type of tickets and ticket rates and nowhere or by nobody to inform about it? No zone map on main bus stop showing zones or line routes, no bus audio zone announcement, machine in bus able to validate tickets not valid for that same bus, and traffic employees plus driver doesn't speak English nor inform about this. We think this transport company should be compliant and informative before fining people who even had tickets.
