Shambolic check in at Brisbane by rude, aggressive staff. We received 3 different seat assignments from pre-booked seats (SkyBoss), to check-in seats, to a further change at the boarding gate. The Vi... See more

Unfriendly money scamming customer…
Unfriendly money scamming customer service. Poor inflight customer service. Late departure time by one hour with no explanation or apology! Manager unhelpful. They are after making more money at all costs at check in.
Absolutely disgraceful airline.
Absolutely disgraceful airline.
By far one of the worst airline experiences I have ever had. The staff were rude, arrogant, inconsistent and completely unprofessional.
I asked to purchase an additional 25kg checked bag for around £28, but the staff member refused to let me buy the bag and forced me to pay for the weight per kilogram instead, which ended up costing me nearly £200.
First I was told the charge was 7 million VND, then suddenly it became 8 million VND. Meanwhile, the passenger directly behind me had around 14kg of excess baggage and was allowed through without paying anything.
Absolutely disgusting treatment. Different rules for different passengers, outrageous charges and some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
VietJet is cheap for a reason. Whatever you save on the ticket is not worth being treated like this.
Never again. Avoid VietJet if you have any other option. One star only because zero stars isn’t possible.
Cheap is really not worth it
I flew from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, using VietJet's SkyBoss.
Upon our arrival, we saw that the retractable handle on my Samsonite luggage had been broken in the extended position, making it impossible to retract again.
While still at the airport, I went to their desk, made a complaint, and was told that the Airline's compensation policy is to provide £3 for a broken handle.
Despite all the emails I've sent, explaining that the repair for something like that, if possible, would be very expensive, well beyond £3. Nevertheless, they still refused to offer appropriate compensation or take ownership of the repair.
So now I am stuck with an expensive repair of something their staff broke.
Overall, their customer service is appalling, not to mention the quality of their lounges, including the food they have available.
If there were an option to rate zero…
If there were an option to rate zero stars, I would. This is hands down the worst airline I have ever flown with. Even after paying for excess baggage before immigration, they forced me to pay again right before boarding. There are constant hidden fees and a crew that can’t communicate properly among themselves. Never again! The ticket fare may look cheap, but it is not worth the immense stress you’ll go through.
Never again.
Never again.
Unvoluntary rebooking the flights without proper communications.
Unsufficient consultations about the consequences.
Extra charges despite the faires werw created by them.
Avoid Vietjet if you value fair baggage…
Avoid Vietjet if you value fair baggage handling. They charged me VND 1.6 million for excess baggage 3kg and even asked me to put my wallet on the scale to raise the weight. The experience felt unreasonable and unprofessional. Never fly with Vietjet again.
Bad experience with customer service…
I flew from Ho Chi Min airport to Brisbane. The flight we were on was delayed at Ho Chi min airport for an hour on the tarmac. As a result we missed our connecting flight from Brisbane to Auckland. We were suppose to arrive into Brisbane at 9.25pm but with the delay we had only quarter of an hour to disembark, go through security collect our bags by then jetstar check in had closed. Had to sleep at the airport and buy another ticket in the morning. I have tried with Vietjet to be compensated but they will not be held accountable. They keep saying that flight flew out at the scheduled time and that my case was resolved and closed. Liars we were on the plane. It was my first time flying with Vietjet and it will be my last. No PR skills or empathy at all with them. If there was a no star rating I would of given that. People think before booking with this airline!!!!
Awful experience.
Awful experience.. booked a flight from khon kaen to bkk.. it was delayed by 30mins but was actually over an hour before take off 🤷 not much of an apology..no water or snack offered during flight..will book with another airline if need be next time
Worst Airline we have ever flown with
Worst Airline we have ever flying with! Even worse than ryan air Not only they are unfriendly they are pure scammers! ..slow counters and they check every possible way to rip you off at any point of controll! Book another Airline!!! We will never book this Airline again for sure 🤣
Band Vietjet Alines to Australia
As an Australian customer who relied on air travel during a layover at Vietnam SGN to Brisbane, I was appalled by the airport service. Upon disembarking, we were shouted at for any misdirection, creating an unsafe atmosphere from the outset. At the gate, my fellow passengers and I were pressured, shouted at, and herded through additional security checks. Furthermore, my bags were checked without explanation or respect for my privacy, even though they had already been scanned. At the check-in desk, we paid for additional seats. During the flight, I experienced a lack of professionalism and courtesy I didn't expect from an international airline. The additional seats I had purchased were ignored. Instead, when I tried to take a seat, I was penalized and left without free food and drinks. Ignored. At the end of this ordeal, my suitcase was missing, which was simply an insult. Please withdraw from the Australian market or improve your quality of service and consider Australian standards of living. Your prices are causing confusion and anxiety among travellers.
Needs banding or retraining to Australian live standards.
Staff retraining - Mandatory customer service and de-escalation training. Airport staf Zero tolerance policy for shouting at passengers.
Clear airport procedures - Staff must give correct directions and communicate respectfully at disembarking and gates. Policy to open travel bags without permission,
Seat + service policy enforcement - Honour paid seat selections. Staff must not punish passengers for using empty seats and must provide food/drinks that were included.
Formal apology + compensation - For the missing luggage, denied services, and poor treatment.
Rating Vietjet a 0
Rating Vietjet a 0 if I could. I just experienced the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered while traveling for 6 months. They gave me a hard time for the weight of my bag. Don’t fly with them. You are better off paying extra and flying with a different airline.
Extremely Disappointing Experience with…
Extremely Disappointing Experience with VietJet Air
One of the worst airline experiences I have ever had. I travelled on 24 August 2026, flying VJ895 from Bali to Ho Chi Minh City, followed by the connecting flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Delhi.
The biggest issue was the constant and inconsistent charging for baggage and other services. I was charged for extra baggage in Bali, and then asked to pay again in Ho Chi Minh City. When questioned about it, the staff simply said, “Whatever happened in Bali is not implemented here.” How is that acceptable when it is the same airline and the same journey?
The staff were extremely rude, unhelpful and dismissive. Instead of assisting passengers, they seemed more interested in finding ways to charge additional money. Even during the flight, when there were clearly empty seats available, passengers were being asked to pay extra just to change seats.
On top of that, the aircraft itself was disappointing. Seat handles were broken, and the overall condition did not reflect what passengers should reasonably expect from an international airline.
What makes this worse is that many passengers on the flights on 24 August were visibly unhappy and frustrated with the same issues. This did not feel like an isolated incident.
VietJet Air needs to seriously reconsider its customer service, baggage policies, transparency and the way its staff treat passengers. Charging passengers repeatedly and then giving different explanations at different airports is completely unacceptable.
Very poor service, hidden/inconsistent charges, rude staff and an extremely frustrating travel experience. I would seriously think twice before booking VietJet Air again.
There people are awfull.
⭐ 1 STAR
⭐ 1 STAR – SKYBOSS WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY
This was the inaugural VietJet flight from Colombo, Sri Lanka to Ho Chi Minh City on 18 August 2026. You would expect an airline’s inaugural flight on a new international route to showcase its very best service. Unfortunately, my SkyBoss experience was extremely disappointing.
I paid considerably extra for VietJet SkyBoss because I expected a premium experience, better service, greater comfort and some separation from the main cabin. I genuinely wonder what I actually paid extra for.
There appeared to be only two passengers who had actually paid for SkyBoss, including me, yet the SkyBoss section ended up full of other passengers. The gentleman sitting next to me even told me this was his first-ever flight, so I was very surprised to find him sitting in the premium SkyBoss section.
On boarding, my “premium” welcome consisted of half a small plastic glass of water.
When it came to the included SkyBoss meal, I was handed the menu and told I could choose between two vegetarian options or a fish meal. I didn’t want any of those options. The alternative offered to me was tea or coffee. For a premium ticket, I expected a much better choice.
I was also moved away from my husband and placed in seat 1F, right at the front beside the galley and toilets. Every time the galley lights came on, I was disturbed.
The toilet situation made the supposed SkyBoss experience even worse. Passengers from the rest of the aircraft were continually coming forward to use the front toilets. They weren’t allowed to wait in the galley, so instead they were made to stand and queue right beside the SkyBoss passengers.
The queue became so bad that despite me sitting in the very front row of the aircraft, I eventually had to walk all the way to the toilets at the back of the plane.
This raises an obvious question: Why close the curtains around the SkyBoss section to create a supposedly separate premium area if passengers from the rest of the aircraft are continually coming through and lining up beside SkyBoss passengers to use the front toilets?
The attached photo also shows the wet and dirty toilet floor during the flight. Again, certainly not what I expected after paying extra for a premium product.
I was also very concerned about how our seating was handled.
My husband’s boarding pass clearly showed seat 7C, yet once onboard he was instructed to sit in 8A. If an airline changes a passenger’s seat, I believe that change should be properly recorded.
From a safety and passenger-accountability perspective, this concerned me greatly. In the event of a serious emergency or accident, his boarding pass and original seat allocation would show him in 7C when he was actually sitting in 8A. In a worst-case situation such as a crash, I would be concerned about the potential for confusion when authorities are trying to establish where passengers were seated.
I had also been moved and separated from my husband, and we were given no satisfactory explanation for why our allocated seating was changed.
I paid significantly more for SkyBoss expecting premium treatment, better food choices, greater comfort and a more exclusive cabin experience.
Instead, I received half a small plastic glass of water, extremely limited meal choices, was separated from my husband, had constant passengers queuing beside me for the toilets, was disturbed by the galley lights, and eventually had to walk from the very front of the aircraft to the rear toilets because of the queue.
Meanwhile, the supposedly premium SkyBoss section appeared to be filled with passengers who had not purchased the same SkyBoss product.
For an inaugural international flight on a brand-new route, I expected VietJet to be showcasing the very best it had to offer. Sadly, this experience did exactly the opposite.
So I have one simple question for VietJet: What exactly did I pay all that extra money for?
Based on my experience, SkyBoss was absolutely not worth the additional cost and I would not pay for it again.
worst airline ever looted money all…
worst airline ever looted money all vietnam is worst nothing to see there dubai is 1000 time more better
poor service
We had to pay extra at check-in because we hadn't provided our middle names (this has never been a problem on dozens of flights before). The seat layout shown during seat selection was inaccurate, and the staff was extremely unfriendly.
Worse company ever this is a scam
Worse company ever this is a scam as all previous comments they charge tourist on missing mufle name ticket flight and all cabin luggages at inexplicable rate fees Even if you are a family and have more available weight they put pressure on you to pay now or don’t give you access to the boarding They also charge for goods souvenir from the airport Their flight are also late and you can miss connection flight without any solution or refund from their part their customer support are useless
Money steal airline in Vietnam
The worst airline service try to take your cabin bag money and the most delayed airline in VN. Never try this airline as my local recommended if intending to travel with carryon baggage.
DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE
DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE. I have been travelling for nearly 30 years and my flight with this company was undoubtedly the *worst* flying experience of my life. From one single return flight (Bangkok to Sydney, transiting in Ho Chi Minh) here’s the choicest moments:
After a 5 hour delayed flight (with very little information for passengers at any point) and therefore missing my connecting flight, they denied me and my 12 year old son boarding as they refused to arrange a visa, or put us up in Ho Cho Minh. They explained this after everyone had boarded and the plane took off without us. They then asked us to leave the airport and come back in two days as they had also cancelled the next days flight. They offered no hotel, no transport, no compensation, no help. They called 10+ security to stand in the area which felt intimidating. Their head office even refused to provide us with delayed flight and denied boarding certificates so we could claim through insurance.
We returned in 2 days and despite having paid for deluxe tickets they changed our seats, had no record of our food orders etc. and then this flight was delayed by two hours. The plane experience itself was horrific. No blankets or pillows for an overnight flight. No toilet paper in toilets. They provided nothing - not even reasonable basics.
In total, they had delayed us by 50 hours and provided nothing more than a USD9 voucher to get a drink/snack.
The flight back from Sydney- again, despite deluxe tickets and confirmed seats, changed our seats, no record of the food. Flight delayed by nearly 3 hours.
Staff are miserable (understandably), zero customer service, no one helping from head office.
They are an actual nightmare and I’d rather never fly again than set foot on a Vietjet Air flight.
I think they are operating right at the edge of legality, if not over the line. I’m surprised no class action has been launched against them. They should not be permitted to conduct international flights transiting through Vietnam - they are not equipped.
I'd like to share my personal…
I'd like to share my personal experience during a flight with VietJet Air.
First, when we flew from Almaty to Da Nang, Vietnam, everything seemed fine. But there were some downsides I'd like to highlight.
First, it was incredibly cold on the plane. I noticed the passengers: almost immediately, everyone started rummaging through their bags, looking for warm clothes—some were putting on socks, others were trying to find sweaters. It seemed like it was cold the entire flight. I asked for a blanket, but they refused, saying there were none.
The food was completely edible. Honestly, I've never seen such food in my life. I won't even begin to describe what it was like.
Upon arrival, we all started getting sore throats because we'd simply frozen overnight. Well, hello, pharmacies in Vietnam!
Our vacation was certainly a success; everything was great! But then came the flight home—and that's when the real road to hell began.
When we flew back, it wasn't even a refrigerator anymore, it was a full-blown freezer. Honestly, I've never been so cold. I just flew and prayed for this hellish cold to end soon.
A few days passed after arriving home, and I went to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with obstructive bronchitis. Consequently, I can't go back to work: I'm currently undergoing treatment, receiving injections and IVs.
In short, I ended up spending more money than I saved.
I'm writing this review for those who might find it useful.
A miser pays twice!
I curse this airline every minute. It feels like they're deliberately freezing economy class passengers so that those who bought business class tickets can feel comfortable.
I have asthma, and now I need at least a month of treatment. I've never been so cold in my life.
And I want to point out: everyone was cold! I saw people sitting in warm sweaters and socks, taking things out of their bags, and trying to warm up somehow.
I really hope the boomerang does exist.
My personal conclusion: if you're planning to fly VietJet Air, think carefully. A cheap ticket might end up costing you much more—not only financially, but also in terms of your health.
This is my personal experience and impression of the flight.
