The internet service is extremely poor. The speed is often very low, and the connection frequently drops. The service is far from seamless and is quite unreliable.

I have used Speedtest both on my computer and on the phone for a number of years. Before I explain my 5 Star rating, I want to raise a point about "reviewers" claiming Speedtest is a Scam, and having bveen phoned by someone with a strong accent and a very suspect script.

Speedtest doesn't phone ANYONE. It is purely an internet-based line-speed test site. You go to them to check your internet connection speed.

If someone with a dodgy accent phones you claiming to be from Speedtest and saying you have poor line speed THEY ARE NOT FROM SPEEDTEST - they are using Speedtest.net's name to scam you - please don't leave a bad review for Speedtest when they are as much a victim of the scam as are you.

OK, with that out of the way; I have a number of speedtest apps on my phone; I consistently find speedtest.net to be the most reliable and accurate. Their format has changed a bit over the years ... but the most important thing hasn't - the site measures your connection speed. I use speedtest to see not only how my ISP is performing (I have a 10 Gb/s line, I like to know what I'm getting ... ) but also if the VPN I'm using is taking up too much overhead.

For an UNPAID test facility, Speedtest hitsall the markers. Consistent and reliable measurement and has carried this consistency and reliability through for the 10 years or so I have been using them.

Long may they continue to measure my speed!! All hail Speedtest.net!!

Shows high speed, but real downloads are much slower..

Google Fiber is paying this website 600-800mbps faster than a dozen others. I see the lag on my 5k screen no way is it giving me true numbers.

possibly the worst test site ever .. more interested in loading the page with adverts.. dont bother using you will be wasting your time ..

It's riddled with adverts that don't give you any peace, and try to trick you into clicking on them by uusing unsubstantiated claims, and false advertising.

I saw that a my download speed on steam was 305 Mbps, so I chose to go to speedtest and saw that I had 50 Mbps. Then when the download finished I tested it again and saw that the number jumped way up to 350 Mbps. This is the highest it has been in a long time.

It shows what I need to see and is quick to use. Only downside is that it reports the result of maximum speed, not average which is more the reality.

Not good. Doesn't display the speeds in order of most recent. As with a previous review, you're interminably clicking on "More" to display the most recent speeds. The filters to select the data ranges don't actually work. It's just a very basic, unsophisticated internet speed test.The phone app needs waking up the first time I use it in the morning. It initially shows very low speeds then increases the second time.

The app version was completely useless: whether the network was down or not, it always said it couldn’t reach Speedtest. Fix your app, chumps.

This speedtest site not a accurate its fake

FAKE SITE..IT'S NOT WORKING PROPERLY.MY SYSTEM SPEED IS SHOWING IN 200MBPS BUT ANY SITE OPENED TOO MUCH SLOW..

This service used to be fairly accurate years ago but I guess someone is paying them off now because even when my Internet is so slow I struggle to load web pages which happened with my previous carrier visible and now is happening again with cricket but ookla speedtest shows 15mbps and my last test showed 40mbps and that's absolutely impossible considering my Internet is slower than 256kbps and with visible my Internet got so bad it took over 5 minutes to load web pages and it wasn't even worth using because it was just too slow and speedtest showed 25mbps so either they need to fix their service or they need to stop working for the phone carriers there's something fishy about this service now

impossible to measure the speed on smartphone without their app, very heavy site, so heavy, my android crashes..

Liers.. Every other reliable speedtest showed me 100/30 while yours shows me what im actually paying for... well I guess everyone can be bought. I'll make sure to spread the word about your scam :)

I always rely on speedtest to check who is slow here - me or the site. Whenever it tells me that I'm fast I feel relieved and continue searching on other sites.
I like the opportunity to check the speed in the new places I go. I always use speedtest and the only thing annoying me is the amount of ads. It makes the whole page flashy and disturbing.
