Severe lack of customer service
Not on the part of Mercedes-Benz Finance—who were understanding, professional and ultimately did the right thing—but my experience with Sandown Mercedes-Benz Guildford was nothing short of appalling.
Sandown allowed me to return the vehicle without first confirming with Mercedes-Benz Finance that my finance agreement had been settled, a fundamental error that they later admitted was their mistake. As a customer, I relied on the dealership to guide me through the correct process; I had no reason to believe anything further was required on my part.
The consequence of their negligence was that I was left without a car for three months while still being required to make finance payments on a vehicle I no longer had. Despite acknowledging their error, Sandown made no meaningful effort to put things right. Instead, they attempted to shift the blame onto me for not following a process that they, as the Mercedes-Benz dealer, should have managed correctly.
In stark contrast, Mercedes-Benz Finance handled the situation with professionalism, empathy and common sense. They recognised the unfairness of what had happened and kindly refunded my final three finance payments. I sincerely hope they recover those costs from Sandown, whose lack of accountability and customer care has completely destroyed my confidence in the dealership.
Based on my experience, I would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing a vehicle from Sandown Mercedes-Benz Guildford. When things go wrong, their willingness to accept responsibility and support their customers appears to be severely lacking.

We picked up our new CLA last week from Epsom and from start to finish we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and customer service! Chris Durnford has been wonderful. We recently purchased a Mercedes GLC for my wife and the whole experience was extremely positive. This is already the second car we have purchased from the dealership in Dorchester, and once again the service was excellent.
From the first contact, everything was handled smoothly and professionally. We were given clear information about the vehicle, all of our questions were answered, and the entire buying process was completed without any unnecessary pressure or complications.
The car was very well prepared for collection and matched the description and everything we had previously discussed. My wife is extremely happy with the GLC and we have had no issues since the purchase.
Excellent customer service, a professional approach and a completely hassle-free transaction. We would confidently recommend the Dorchester dealership to anyone looking to purchase a quality vehicle.

Comprehensive, helpful and expert service
From start to finish I experienced excellent customer service. I was very content with the trade in value of my previous vehicle, a rather ancient Range Rover Evoque.
I was not looking forward to changing the car as I am not good at current technology but the transaction was handled with patience, politeness and an appropriate level of good humour.
I would be more than happy to recommend Mercedes Epsom to any colleague.
My compliments to all the staff, especially Nick, who made the whole experience a pleasure.
