I booked a holiday home directly through Interhome and then discovered that exactly the same property was listed on a partner platform, apparently managed by Interhome itself, at a lower price, with no special promotion or discount involved.
What surprised me even more was the cancellation policy. My booking was for a stay one month in the future, and I tried to cancel it only about 30 minutes after making the reservation. Interhome immediately applied a 50% cancellation fee. Meanwhile, the partner platform was offering free cancellation for the same property.
At this point, I'm not even concerned about saving a few dozen euros. What disappoints me is that when booking directly through the official website, customers should receive at least the same conditions, if not better ones, than those offered by third-party platforms.
Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend searching for the same property on other booking platforms before booking directly with Interhome. You may find a lower price, free cancellation, or even additional promotional discounts.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me very disappointed.
Very disappointing experience
Unfortunately, our experience with Interhome at Pine Hills was extremely disappointing. We travelled with two young children and encountered several issues including failed air conditioning, ants, (Which is noted in T&C's as a potential and for the time of year i accepted this) exposed electrical conductors and concerns with the condition of the swimming pools. These issues were reported during our stay and ultimately resulted in us leaving the property early.
We documented the issues thoroughly and submitted a detailed report supported by photographs, videos and correspondence. Our claim was rejected and we were offered €500 as a goodwill gesture.
We escalated the complaint to a manager, but the outcome remained unchanged. We then raised our concern that the detailed report and video evidence did not appear to have been reviewed. Following this, the evidence was reviewed, but unfortunately Interhome came back with the same decision and no further resolution was offered.
Having previously had a positive experience with Interhome, this was particularly disappointing. Based on both the accommodation and how our complaint was ultimately handled, I could not recommend this property.
Also to note you have to be invited to leave a review on the website so this is why i'm sharing here.

Got a reservation with interhome by Booking. I have never seen such an unhelpful customer service. They should manage the reservation, but ask the customer to contact directly the owner for anything. Every answer comes from a different person, and they all just state the agreements - they don’t care to even analyze each case.
Don’t recommend it and will never book with them again.

Apartment Iolanda Sardegna
We booked this apartment in Alghero OLBIA, SARDINIA, for 3 nights, expecting a clean, safe, and comfortable place to stay during our holiday. Unfortunately, our experience has been FAR from what we expected, and the way the company handled our complaint made everything even worse.
From the moment we encountered the condition of the apartment, it became clear that several things were simply NOT acceptable.
THE BED FRAME IS BROKEN, and the mattress has twisted springs that create something like a hole when you lie down. It is extremely uncomfortable. We cannot provide pictures of the mattress without tearing apart its cover, which we are NOT going to do. The problem is there, whether or not we dismantle the mattress to prove it.
The bathroom situation was even more concerning. THE BATHROOM ROD FELL ON ONE OF THE LADIES' HEADS because it was not properly attached to the wall. This is a serious SAFETY ISSUE, not a minor inconvenience. On top of that, the water hose unscrewed by itself and started spraying water all over the bathroom.
AND THE LINENS AND TOWELS? THEY WERE DISGUSTING. There were stains, holes, hairs from previous guests, and numerous marks of different kinds. They smelled as though they had NEVER BEEN PROPERLY WASHED. We actually had to BUY DETERGENT AND WASH THE LINENS OURSELVES. Imagine booking an apartment for 3 nights and having to do this just to feel comfortable enough to sleep in the bed. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
As for the atmosphere, THIS APARTMENT LACKS THE COMFORT AND COZINESS THAT A HOLIDAY RENTAL SHOULD OFFER. It feels more like a hospital than a welcoming holiday home, and not even a particularly clean one. White linens are perfectly fine, but WHITE LINENS SHOULD BE CLEAN. I REPEAT: CLEAN. Not stained, full of holes, or covered in other people's hair.
We booked 3 nights in OLBIA, SARDINIA, to enjoy our holiday, not to deal with a BROKEN BED, UNSAFE BATHROOM FIXTURES, A FAULTY WATER HOSE, AND FILTHY LINENS. These are basic standards of maintenance, hygiene, and safety that any paying guest has every right to expect.
BUT WHAT MADE THIS EXPERIENCE EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTING WAS THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE AFTER WE COMPLAINED. Instead of acknowledging the problems and trying to find a reasonable solution, THE COMPANY REFUSED TO REFUND US AND REFUSED TO MOVE US TO ANOTHER ACCOMMODATION. Instead, we were told, in effect, that EVERYTHING WAS FINE, as if the problems we had reported did not exist.
Imagine paying for a holiday apartment, reporting serious issues with cleanliness, broken furniture, and bathroom fixtures, and then being denied BOTH A REFUND AND ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION, while the company insists that everything is perfectly acceptable. THAT IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT PAYING CUSTOMERS.
We have already spent 2 nights here, and we have had no reasonable alternative but to endure the last one. That does NOT mean we consider these conditions acceptable, and it certainly does NOT mean that the full price is justified.
IF WE ARE NOT ENTITLED TO A REFUND, THE LEAST THE COMPANY COULD DO IS SHOW SOME SYMPATHY, ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT WENT WRONG, AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. We are not asking for anything unreasonable. We are asking for basic standards of cleanliness, comfort, and safety, along with a fair response to a legitimate complaint.
I WILL MAKE SURE MY REVIEWS REFLECT EXACTLY WHAT WE EXPERIENCED AND HOW THE COMPANY HANDLED OUR COMPLAINT. I will describe the problems honestly so that future guests can make an informed decision before booking. People deserve to know not only the condition of the accommodation but also how the company responds when something goes wrong.
We paid for a holiday apartment in Sardinia, expecting to enjoy our stay. Instead, we ended up washing the linens ourselves, dealing with a broken bed and unsafe bathroom fixtures, and spending our time arguing about problems that should never have existed in the first place.
WE DID OUR PART BY PAYING FOR THE ACCOMMODATION. THE COMPANY FAILED TO PROVIDE THE EXPERIENCE WE PAID FOR AND THEN REFUSED TO OFFER A REASONABLE SOLUTION.
DO NOT CLAIM THAT EVERYTHING IS OKAY WHEN YOUR GUESTS HAVE REPORTED THESE PROBLEMS. REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE A COMPLAINT DOES NOT MAKE IT DISAPPEAR.
WE EXPECTED A CLEAN, SAFE, AND COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY. WE DID NOT RECEIVE THAT, AND THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE ONLY MADE THE EXPERIENCE WORSE.

We had multiple maintenance and cleanliness issues during our stay that were not addressed despite notifying Interhome via e-mail and on telephone after we received no response. They failed to respond to our complaint after multiple requests were sent to their local and central office as well. Interhome then reached out to us after almost two months and the compensation offered was unsatisfactory and did not address our complaint. The fact that a large company like Interhome doesn’t reply to their guests emails and requests and doesn’t address issues with the accommodation during their stay - especially considering the price we payed for our stay - is absolutely unacceptable. We won’t be staying at an Interhome property ever again.

Unreliable. Disappointing. Unprofessional.
Very disappointing experience. Our confirmed accommodation in Grindelwald was cancelled by Interhome just a few days before our trip because the owner terminated the contract. We were told that no comparable alternative was available without paying an additional amount.
As we were travelling as a family with a 3-year-old child, we had to urgently book a non-refundable replacement accommodation at a significantly higher cost. Interhome refunded the original booking but has so far not provided a satisfactory solution regarding the additional costs caused by the cancellation.
The biggest issue is not that something went wrong—it is how little support was provided when it mattered most. A confirmed booking should mean something, especially when cancellation happens only days before travel.

Dishonest, disorganized and unprofessional company!!! I was listing my properties with them. They couldn’t get the price right and rented my property out prime time at a ridiculously low rate. I want out of my association with them yet they are still advertising my properties. I have asked several times for them to remove properties from their site! I just found out they are advertising my properties on a site that is meant for direct bookings via the owner called Houfy. They have the nerve to say that they are the host of my properties!!! Ugh I never allowed that! So dishonest. They better remove my properties as requested multiple times now because I will not honor any of their bookings!

This is without doubt one of the worst experiences we have ever had when renting a holiday home.
We booked and paid for a holiday property in France through Interhome. What we received was, in our opinion, far below what anyone should reasonably expect from a professional holiday rental company.
Poor cleaning. Damage and defects. Electrical problems. And a private swimming pool – one of the main reasons we chose this particular property – that was green, cloudy and could not be used as expected.
The result? Around EIGHT DAYS of our holiday were seriously affected.
Eight days of your holiday are days you never get back.
But almost worse than the problems themselves was the way the situation was handled.
Problems can happen. Pools can have technical issues. Equipment can fail. What separates a professional company from a terrible customer experience is HOW THEY RESPOND WHEN THINGS GO WRONG.
And this is exactly where, in our experience, Interhome failed completely.
We did not feel that the responsibility taken, the follow-up provided, or the solution offered came anywhere close to reflecting what we had actually experienced and paid for.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that this was not a cheap holiday where our expectations were unrealistic. We paid for a specific property, specific facilities and a specific standard. It is therefore reasonable to expect to receive what you have paid for.
When a large international holiday rental company sells customers security, quality and professional service, they must also be prepared to stand behind the product when things go seriously wrong.
Our experience with Interhome:
❌ Property below the standard we expected
❌ Poor cleaning
❌ Multiple problems and defects during our stay
❌ Swimming pool that could not be used as expected
❌ Around eight days of our holiday seriously affected
❌ Aftercare and complaint handling that we found extremely disappointing
We will NEVER book through Interhome again.
And to anyone considering doing so: think very carefully. If you still decide to book, document EVERYTHING from the moment you arrive – photos, videos, dates, times, messages and every communication you have with Interhome.
For us, this is no longer just about the problems with the holiday property.
It is about trust.
And that trust is completely gone.
Even one star feels generous.

My experience with Interhome was extremely negative from start to finish.
I booked a holiday apartment through Airbnb that was managed by Interhome. As soon as I booked, I contacted them because our flight landed after the advertised check-in time and I wanted to arrange a late arrival.
Over the following week I sent several messages through Airbnb, emailed them, contacted them on Facebook Messenger and even tried calling. Despite all my efforts, I never received a response from a real person.
What made the situation even more concerning was that I had already uploaded copies of our passports as part of the booking process, yet I couldn’t get anyone to answer a simple question about accessing the property.
I contacted Airbnb for help, but with less than two weeks until our holiday I still had no reassurance that we would actually be able to check in. After reading other reviews describing the same poor communication, I lost all confidence in the booking and had no option but to cancel and find alternative accommodation at short notice.
The whole experience caused a great deal of unnecessary stress and meant we had to settle for a smaller property because of the limited availability so close to our holiday.
Based on my experience, I would not book a property managed by them again.

Bookings are canceled, the reason is (our room was overbooked). after we saw a new room at the same price, we made a request to order a room from lowly IGNORE. Be careful when making reservations.

booked through AirBnB & was met with '19 hours average response' - somehting I neever had with a direct host before!
Their excuse?
'As we currently manage more than 40,000 properties and are approaching the high season, response times may unfortunately be longer than usual.
Please remember that you can also reach us anytime via our 24/7 support line, where we will be happy to assist you.'
Trying to take us OFF AirBnB where we are protected and asking for extra deposits too - unprotected!
BAD & SLOW COMMUNICATION
We asked to reschedule because of familty medical emergency and they took so long to reply we couldnt then cancel for any refund & they suggested go to insurance but failed to provide evidence we need to do that!!
Then communicated continually about holiday we didnt get and didn't seem to realise we hadn't event been?

We have consistently booked an apartment in Wengen with Interhome annually for the past 8 years. This year when I booked the invoice was issued in Euros (Im in Australia), due to volatile currency fluctuations in wanted the invoice in AUD so I knew how much each payment would be.
I tried ringing (you cant speak to them) then I emailed 7 times over 5 days before I had to pay the initial deposit, and had zero response from them.
I felt uncomfortable booking with them so I cancelled it on Interhome and rebooked the same apartment on Air BnB with the host being Interhome.
This time the booking was in AUD but it was a quite a bit more expensive so I tried to find out if it included the Tourist Tax as it was unclear in the listing.
Again, I sent messages to them via the Air BnB platform and again emailed multipe times, still no response over the past couple of days so ive cancelled my booking as I dont trust them anymore.
Its such a shame because we have had many very happy holidays in that apartment.
Interhome have been great to deal with up untill this time.
I believe they were taken over last year by a bigger German company called Homes to Go,
I suspect this is why the customer service is terrible at the moment.
For now I won't be booking with them.

At their pre check in you cannot add children it only allows adults or babies. Tried to contact them by email once, using their messaging system twice. NO RESPONSE. I tried their hotline which is supposed to 24/7 always with the response we are busy use the website. I tried about 10 times in the day and night. Always the same. The point being I cannot use the pre check in on the site as there is no provision for children. Only option is to enter all children as adults.

I sent multiple emails regarding my booking but never received any response. I asked a simple question about whether the accommodation provides a fan during the current European heatwave, since there is no air conditioning in the room.
Nobody answered me, and during that time the free cancellation period expired. A company claiming to provide 24/7 customer support should not ignore customers like this.
Very disappointing experience and extremely poor communication.

writing the review as host
Interhome achieved the rare feat of acquiring a functional business (atraveo) and slowly destroying it.
In short, my experience has been defined by poor platform functionality, painfully slow development, and equally slow customer support. However, the most frustrating and misleading issue is that my property—and in fact all North American properties—wasn't visible on the platform even six months after the atraveo merger.
I was never informed that my listing wasn't being displayed to potential guests. When I contacted support, they acknowledged the issue but couldn't provide any timeline for a resolution.
This lack of transparency and accountability is completely unacceptable, and I cannot recommend the platform to other hosts.
For potential guests looking for North-American experiences you may have to use alternate platforms...
We booked a villa for 6 people in Calp via Booking.com, which looked great both on the photos and the description did not raise any concerns.
However - upon the arrival we found that the lift that was in the property’s description was broken (the house is on a considerable elevation). The only way to access the house was via a spiral metal death staircase. Not a small one, we are talking 3-4 metres at least. This was a big problem for two of our group - older people with mobility issues, who would not be able to make it safely up and down this death trap. We were not warned about the lift issue prior to the arrival, nor at the pickup of the keys in the office - plenty of opportunities to get things right. Only when I called the agent she admitted that it was a known issue. She then said - the lift was not in the description (lies - it was and still is) and they sent us the property check in voucher 2 weeks prior with no lift mentioned (nice try - we booked in February and paid for well in advance!). So with part of the group unable to access the house, the agency didn’t feel it was an issue, lied on multiple occasions and did not offer any resolution. We had no other option but to contact Booking.com with an official complaint and get a refund. Obviously, we were lucky to rebook elsewhere but considerably more expensive due to the last moment booking.
In conclusion - never book anything with Interhome Calpe unless you want your holiday ruined. Unprofessional people with poor attitude.
Besides the above - the area by the lift must be used as a street toilet as the stench of urine was felt as far as the front terrace of the house.
I must give them a credit for letting us check in 2 hours earlier. Which was a game changer. Had we checked in later, we would have had no chance to rebook elsewhere that day.
I booked an apartment on Boulevard Louis Blanc in Saint-Tropez through Booking.com. During the booking process, I clearly indicated that my expected arrival time would be between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. In addition, I sent three separate messages through the Booking.com app prior to arrival to confirm my arrival time and received no response.
I arrived at the property at approximately 9:15 PM and attempted to contact the property using all the telephone numbers provided. Despite multiple calls, nobody answered. After waiting for nearly an hour outside the property, a friend called from a French number and was finally able to reach an agent named Solomon at around 10:00 PM.
Unfortunately, the interaction was extremely disappointing. Solomon was rude, unhelpful, and showed no empathy for our situation. When I explained that we had provided our arrival time in advance and had sent several messages that went unanswered, his response was: "Yes, but did somebody confirm that you could arrive that late?"
When I asked what we were supposed to do, he told us to drive to the Interhome office in Gassin, outside Saint-Tropez, to see whether a key had been left in an envelope. When I asked what would happen if there was no key waiting there, he simply replied that we would have to find a hotel for the night and wait until the following day to collect the keys.
What was most frustrating is that Interhome had been informed of our arrival time well in advance. If key collection needed to take place elsewhere, or if late arrivals could not be accommodated, this should have been clearly communicated before our arrival. Instead, we spent over an hour stranded on the street, unable to access the property, with no assistance from the company and no certainty that a key would even be available at the office in Gassin.
Rather than trying to help resolve the situation, Solomon repeatedly stated that he was "not on site" and could not help. When I expressed my frustration and explained the circumstances, he simply said that if I wished to complain, I was free to do so, and then ended the call.
This experience was extremely stressful, especially after a long journey. The lack of communication, poor organisation, and unprofessional customer service fell far below the standard I would expect from a company managing holiday accommodations.
