Great service and consistency in resolving issues
Had to delay the review as to test the true nature of the CV made. Overall, the service experience with Claire is wonderful and great personality. Very friendly and helpful. Many positives for her thought processes going through why she did the way she wrote my quality CV.
But unfortunately, I am still unemployed after having my CV made, but making progress after completing an intensive 1 week training with Cerco in getting on-call contracts which happened since February 2026 and started working on contract since May 2026, which is a great start. And it wasn't until recently (2 weeks ago - June 2026) I had discovered a potential critical flaw with the skills section where an IT training company (JBC Skills) identified my skills, even though bullet pointed, was embodied into a supposedly hidden table format as they claimed. This means that the ATS checkers may have missed out my valuable skills and feel very disappointed only after realising after 1 year! Therefore I had to change the way this section was written asap.
James helped to offer some assurance and helped me to understand the situation a little better. Turns out that JBC's methods are too old fashioned and backward and just simply trying to create an agenda as they are working towards a marking scheme. I am very grateful for James to overcome this issue for me. As I told him, I will stick with Claire's CV as it represents me better as opposed to traditional type of CV's. Since my unemployment days 15 years ago, I never trusted a traditional type as I never had job offers then. It was only through the CV Center to which my success was built based upon where I worked since 2016. I would recommend their services if a traditional CV approach proves to not work for you, like I experienced and used to get 2 interviews a fortnight before AI came into place.
Besides this, every piece of advice is spot on and very happy with her efforts.
Also, job boards like indeed, cv library, reed and many others make it even difficult to upload more than one type of CV, therefore had to keep the proposed personal profile template for that and customise the personal statement if the job redirects me to their own job page.

We’re sorry to hear that your job search has been so frustrating. It is most definitely the toughest job market that I have seen in my entire 28-year career.
We take ATS compatibility very seriously and our CVs are always designed in line with current ATS-safe principles. As standard, we provide clients with both an editable Word version and a PDF version. (The Word version is generally the most appropriate format for online applications and ATS/job-board uploads, while the PDF is useful where a fixed-format document is required.)
Modern ATS and job-board platforms can read far more than older ATS folklore suggests, but parsing can still vary between systems, file formats and third-party checker tools. No single online ATS checker or third-party tool can replicate how every employer’s system will interpret a document.
On the specific point raised, having checked the document we provided, the skills section was not in fact created using a hidden table format. This is just not something we ever do.
We would, however, be very happy to review the exact version you have been uploading, together with any feedback or screenshots from JBC Skills or any checker tool, so that we can see precisely what they are reading. If any sensible formatting adjustment would help minimise parsing risk for online applications, we’ll gladly make those changes for you.

Avoiding AI in CVs is of course increasingly important these days if you don't want your CV to get filtered out by the AI that recruiters and employers themselves use. But, most importantly, we don't see our work so much as CV writing as career positioning. The writing is a vital part of the process, of course - but it doesn't matter how good the writing is if we don't first establish precisely how best to position a client to maximise their chances of achieving their career goals.

I have personally reviewed your new CV and can't identify any issues at all with the formatting. It is flawless, with not a single inconsistency. If you could elaborate as to why you feel your CV is poorly formatted then we can certainly discuss this.
We actually have professional graphic designers on staff for our CV templates. They most certainly do stand out - especially by comparison to the overused free templates which many people use. (And all are, of course, fully ATS compatible.)
I do of course recognise the frustration of not being able to get interviews despite having a strong CV - especially when you have been out of work for some time. It is an extremely tough job market right now and, sadly, many people are in the same situation.
If you can provide us with some examples of roles you have applied for then we can help you to determine whether or not they are suitable. We can also see if we can optimise your CV further, based on these examples.
I must strongly caution against the use of AI - and I do hope you haven't been using it on the CV we created for you so as to tailor it yourself for individual roles. We have seen this happening increasingly - with people not understanding the risks. More and more recruiters and employers are using AI themselves to filter out and discard CVs where AI has been used to tailor them. Using AI in this manner means you risk having your CV thrown out before it even has a chance to be seen by a human being.

Not more likely to get an interview
The process was great but I used this as a way to update my CV ready to apply for private industry roles. Had zero replies or interviews. Tailored and tweaked for each role as advised by the expert. Had nothing at all. Not worth the money.
In fact my terrible CV had got more success. The claims about greater success are clearly from a very limited sample. Don’t believe it at all.

To be precise, we're very pleased that you thought our process was great - and you were very happy with your CV when we produced it - but we're very sorry that you haven't yet achieved your goals.
Complaints are fortunately rare at The CV Centre - so I always investigate them personally.
I have carefully reviewed all of our work and am personally of the opinion that it is of a very high standard - and, quite obviously, vastly superior to your original. I wouldn't be so rude as to describe it as "terrible" - but it really did need a lot of improvement! (I definitely wouldn't recommend using the original again.)
Evidently, you are not achieving the desired results, though...
A transition from the civil service to the private sector is always a particularly difficult one, especially in today's very, very tight job market. There is just so much competition. Hundreds of applicants for each role - and only one actually gets the job, of course.
What I would suggest is that you get back in touch with us, providing a good sample of roles you have applied for, and we can (a) assess whether or not they are roles for which you should have been considered and (b) review your CV to see if there are any possible enhancements which can be made to better target these kinds of role.
You may not have got the job you want yet - but we are still here to support you.
