DONT WORK OR BUY FROM HERE

My experience with this company as a Sales Executive was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns about its professionalism, management practices, and overall business operations.

I submitted my CV by email on a Monday, was invited to interview on Thursday, and was offered the position immediately following the interview. I was asked when I could start, and when I jokingly suggested the next day, I was told to begin on Friday.

On my first day, I settled in well, generated three leads across three different vehicles, and found the sales team to be friendly and supportive. Initially, everything appeared positive.

However, several significant issues became apparent almost immediately. Despite being hired and starting work, I was not provided with an employment contract, nor was I asked to produce my driving licence. Nevertheless, I was instructed to move vehicles on site, despite the company having no confirmation that I held a valid licence or that I was insured to drive their stock.

At the end of my first day, while driving home, I received a call from the Sales Manager, who informed me that the owner had apparently been offended by something I had said and that the company had decided that “it would not work out.” No explanation was provided regarding what I had supposedly said.

I subsequently contacted both the Sales Manager and the General Manager to request clarification, but neither was willing to explain the issue. I also asked whether the owner could contact me directly so that I could understand the situation and, if appropriate, apologise. This request was ignored.

During my brief time with the company, I observed several examples of what I considered to be poor customer service and ineffective management. In one instance, a customer part-exchanged a vehicle that was later discovered to be a Category N write-off, and management appeared to blame the customer despite having accepted payment before carrying out appropriate checks.

I also witnessed customers waiting extended periods for promised repairs and receiving inconsistent information regarding whether their vehicles had been taken to main dealers or to local independent mechanics.

The sales staff themselves were courteous and professional, but my impression of management was significantly less positive. Communication was poor, processes appeared disorganised, and concerns were not handled transparently.

The compensation structure was also highly unattractive. The role offered no meaningful base salary and a very poor commission scheme, making it difficult to view the position as financially worthwhile.

After reviewing publicly available company information, I noted that the business’s net assets had declined over the past year and that it appears to have a relatively high debt ratio. While I cannot comment on the company’s internal finances, this may help explain why the dealership currently has only one salesperson yet is attempting to recruit four additional sales staff. In my opinion, this appears to be an effort to increase sales volume without offering a competitive or secure compensation package.

I was also informed that a manager had recently left the business, although different employees provided conflicting explanations regarding the circumstances. This further contributed to my impression of a company lacking clear communication and consistency.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking employment, and I would strongly advise potential customers to conduct thorough due diligence before purchasing a vehicle.

The sales team were genuinely pleasant to work with, but the management and overall business practices left a very poor impression. In my view, the company is fortunate to receive even a one-star review.

Careless actions

Saw a representative of Blackstone Drogheda with no hair driving a gold car/jeep reverse into a silver Skoda outside Blackstone today, once he hit the Skoda he immediately drove off without talking to the guy in the Skoda and went into work like nothing happened. Disgraceful.

Blackstone Motors should not be trusted

Blackstone Motors sold me a vehicle with loose and defective trim (an inspection would have revealed it was loose) and I also purchased an extended 2-year warranty.
I reported the defect within one month of owning the vehicle but Blackstone Motors refused to sort the issue and I had to pay for the defect to be rectified.
Very poor service and not at all in line with the sales pitch I was given about the pre-sales checks and the warranty. This company should not be trusted.

Car got fixed up went to collect

Car got fixed up went to collect. Big guy with stubby nails said to go check the repairs to see if I'm happy then I'm good to go. Then I came back to sign it off , he said he needed to put my milage on the system. Came out just to look at the car as it was abit messy. Then checked my NCT tax insurance, my NCT is up booked in for when I got the repairs done. I did not think this was professional. I suffer from PTSD anxiety and depression some days are hard to leave the house, this has now worsened my anxiety. You need to take on staff that don't degrade you and make feel like absolute piece of shite, disgrace. Don't bring a car that's abit messy or under 2020 if you don't want the staff to look down there nose on you and talk amongst themselves!!! Can you please hire people who want to work not degrade people.

False advertising

False advertising. Booked an inspection from RAC that I had to cancel. Car was advertised as full service history from Bentley. 4 days from inspection I was told has no history. Following day was told it has part digital history. Asked for it to be sent over and then was ignored. Was dealing with Ahmed. One of the worst services I have ever experienced. Would not recommend. Wasted almost a week of my time and nearly left out of pocket for inspection.

The way I was spoken to was disgusting...

My partner purchased an Audi S3 from Blackstone Motors in Feb 2024 along with a warranty. At the time, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Recently he noticed the rear nearside window was not functioning properly, this was due to a frayed cable within the window regulator. Before any repairs were made, the warranty company were contacted. He was told that it would not be covered as any type of cable failure is excluded from cover.

I contacted Blackstone Motors via email for some advice and received a phone call the next day (I did not catch the man's name). After getting my name wrong to begin with, he continuously shouted over me and did not listen to a word I had to say.

After telling him what the problem with the car was (which had been diagnosed by an Audi garage), I was told I was wrong. He said he has owned three Audi S3s, which have all had the ‘same’ problem of a faulty window switch. I was told we were lucky it was just a ‘minor’ problem, as it could have been much worse. I would like to think that he does not speak to all young women like this. How he thought speaking to customers in this way was acceptable is beyond me.

I completely understand the fact they may not be willing to cover the costs of the repairs, but the way I was spoken to was disgusting.

Overcharged for unnecessary changes

What a sad day this was. I booked my car service four weeks ago just to be safe. We are going on a road trip with the family and I wanted to make sure all was well.
My car did not need a service as such but I wanted to make sure the tyres were fine. The car is a two year old car with low mileage. I wanted to abide by the rules and went to an Opel garage for the sake of the warranty. Anyway the cost was 615.00 Euro for the service. Outrageous. When I queried it I was told it needed all sorts of new parts - an air filter, pollen filter, spark plugs - and one new tyre. I. was fine with the tyre. I had to wait all day to get this done. I got to talk to the manager and remained calm and told him the cost was outrageous. He gave me all sorts of ridiculous explanations for the price. It was like being in Fawlty Towers. I knew I was being overcharged and also wondered was it because I was a woman surrounded by men who took advantage. Anyway the manager reduced the amount by 100 euro. it was still a huge bill to pay for a gorgeous car that is almost new. I paid with gritted teeth and went. I had to come back as a warning light came on about reinitialising tyre pressure. the mechanic just went to the dashboard and never checked the tyre pressure. I went off again and the same thing happened . I decided to go to my husband's mechanic on my way
home who fixed the problem and confirmed my suspicions that I had been hugely overcharged.
It is very sad when you can't trust a garage.
Anyway good people out there be careful where you go for a car service. You have been warned I wish you all a smooth journey.
