Registering for a permit from APCOA

I just want to say how helpful APCOA were with my attempted application for my permit which was about to expire, because of my current illness plus a broken hand and a dodgy mobile phone, I tried and tried but I couldn't register mostly because of the reasons I've mentioned, I finally decided to ring them and a wonderful lady called Annie sorted it out for me (thank you Annie) and why it was so important to me is because of the current state of my health I'm in and out of hospital and the parking issue is so important to me, it takes all the stress of trying to figure out a parking 'machine' thank you APCOA and long may you continue

Awful service

Awful service. App is unreliable. Also was fined once recently which I would accept, but they give 14 days to pay as a reduced amount. However the fine came through in the post on day 22 and so the higher amount already payable. No-one contactable about it. Effectively a scam company. Need to be replaced.

UNCARING THIEVES !!

They are thieves. I have two cars on my account. The app defaults to the PREVIOUS car used NOT the DEFAULT car as you might expect. For three days I was paying under the wrong car and when I asked for them to provide some leniency and confirmed I had paid under the other car they decided they just wanted to thieve the money from me. Unfortunately is my local train station so have no choice but to use it.

Scam parking charge

I parked at Redhill station and received a parking ticket as I did not see the signs. I received a letter telling me to pay, however this got lost so I phone d up the company to find out how to pay. They categorically said they had not issued any parking ticket for my car and not to worry. This was a lie. They later called a debt recovery agency send me a letter, of course upping to amount I had to pay. They are a scam. I have no issues is a rule has been broken but they have deliberately misled me to extract more money from me.

Utterly incompetent payment system data grabbing

Parked at location 3008 which is royston station car park.

No payment machines, only dreadful payment system supposing you have a smart phone. Trying to pay in advance on their horrible website, each time entering all relevant details, 'UNAVAILABLE' WAS THE ONLY RESULT.

In car park, told to scan a code on a notice board. This proved to be totally weird on my phone, possibly a scam, asked for huge amount on personal information, name of finance company for my car, directed to sites I have never heard of, some sort of financial packages who grabbed all my data, address, DoB, took ages then disappeared from my phone.

All in all, dealing with APCOA was a dreadful experience and I now must refer this awful company to the FSA.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, BEWARE OF HAVING YOUR PERSONAL DATA STOLEN

Incompetent fools.

The most incompetent fools i have ever dealt with. Parked in Heathrow terminal parking, I had already registered for ‘autopay’ with ACPOA they don’t specify that the AUTOPAY system is specific to EACH airport, even though it is the SAME app and the SAME. company so was issued with a ticket. I paid it.

Don’t trust this company, and HEATHROW why are you using such an incompetent company for your customers

Never issued PCN

When I asked for proof of when the PCN was delivered, I was told none could be provided because it was sent by second-class post. As a result, the very first correspondence I received was a debt recovery demand threatening legal action and seeking £165.

My issue isn’t that I forgot to pay for the parking—I accept that. My issue is that I was never given the opportunity to pay the original charge because I never received the initial notice.

nobody knows what's going on

machine wouldn't accept contactless. website wouldn't allow late pay. chat gave up and told me to call customer services. customer services gave me instructions that didn't work. eventually the rep asked me my reg number then ten seconds later told me she'd removed the fee. so i saved £3.50.....but spent an hour in chat/by a machine/on the telephone.....and getting nowhere. utterly astonishing. how do they get away with it?

Coventry arena car park

Coventry arena car park. Went for a 2 day conference, and had a code for the parking for both days. Got charged one day and fined for no reason the next. Don't give them your card details. Rip off merchants. Avoid.

The dreadful scores for APCOA are well…

The dreadful scores for APCOA are well deserved. It seems that APCOA found that, unbeknown to me, I had mistakenly contravened their parking conditions.
The first that was aware of this was notification from Debt Recovery Plus stating that I had wilfully ignored APCOA's PCN charge and that the matter was now in Debt Recovery Plus's hands. Dept Recovery Plus stated that the appeal was outside of their timeframe. The charge was now £140. There is no doubt that APCOA had NOT informed me of any PCN and wilfully and deliberately transferred the PCN to Debt Recovery Plus. APCOA ignored my correspondence 05 & 29 May requesting their apparent notifications of their issuing a PCN. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a racket tantamount to fraudulent activity where APCOA are in cahoots with Debt Recovery Plus to land car users with extortionate PCN charges. I would urge all victims to report this activity to the BPA.

Utterly neglectful customer care and apathy.

My grievance started because APCOA's system misread my license plate in one of their parking lots. Even after confronted with evidence and multiple emails they simply refused any corrective action and blame the user as being inapt.
Their customer service is abysmal and unprofessional. The first time around they didn't even read through my full complaint. The last message they've sent in Danish stating that that is the official language and that it's my responsibility to translate. All their replies come from their noreply address so you're not even able to answer and have to go through their horrible contact form over and over again.
This sort of dehumanizing behavior is unacceptable and this company should be penalized for their practices.

APCOA is withholding a refund (Request #363299). They sent funds to a closed account, were provided with the closure certificate, but now refuse to help and have blocked their own complaint emails. Legal action via MCOL and BPA complaint initiated.

They have hit the jackpot with the new system

This I feel is one of the most vile disgusting nuisances I have ever come across . They have changed the way they charge you for pick up / drop off service . These corrupt villains are cashing in on the disabled old people . Most older driver have memory issues when having to remember dates times appointment and more often than not need to be reminded . This group of villains are giving fines out like sweets to the elderly and disabled driver. They once had a pay on leaving but now have change the system so that you pay by web site. If you forget or don’t have internet you will receive a fine of £100 . I believe this is in breach of the equality act , they are treating everyone the same when the elderly need more help than others due to the reasons mentioned . They treat the elderly like a cash cow sending letters threatening bailiffs or court action . I will be making some investigations to see if the laws are being disregarded by this group of bandits

These filthy robbing rats are out to steal your money. They trick their customers with obscure underhand tactics that only a criminally vile organisation would use. The fact that Brighton Council allows these rip-off con artists to operate in their city is a total disgrace and smacks of high level corruption. Do not use!

I book my parking at Stansted every…

I book my parking at Stansted every time I go on holiday. 2-3 times a year. I accidentally booked Orange parking instead of Valet. They told me to just exit and go to the correct parking location.

Nearly 1 year later a £5 charge turns into £170 through debt recovery with no way of appeal.

Apparently, there was an appeal that was declined back last year... however that wasn't me.

The letter from the debt company is dated 07/04/25 and I received it today 14/04/25.

So do I continue paying Stansted parking? I am not entirely sure.

Terrible.
