Do not ever buy appliances from whirlpool, they send you defective item and they refuse to exchange it. They only offer repairs on supposedly brand new item
I bought a cook top online from Whirpool. When I placed the order, they advertised free delivery and free haul-away. The merchandise was delivered on 10/1 while I was away. I called them on 1/12 when I came back because I was pissed that the appliance was not installed Then I opened the box and I realized that they had sent me a defective cook top. I notified the company, and I was told that they need to send someone to my house to confirm that the cook top was damaged before they could do anything. I was given a two weeks appointment. They were buying time. When the technician arrived to my house, he inspect the box as the cook top was not unpacked. He immediately saw that the glass was broken. He told me that could be repaired. I told him this is a brand-new cook top it has to be replaced not repaired. He wrote down that I refused the service.
I contacted Whirlpool they told me I refused repair of the cook top, the only way they could take it back is to charge me a restocking fee of 20% which is $500. What pissed me i paid $ 2500 and I found out that the same cook top was being sold for $1300
Every company you bought from would exchange the item if defective not Whirlpool. I called the credit card company the matter is being disputed. Till now the box is left in my house. I wrote two letters to the Corporate office, it's been more than a week no word from them
