Excellent program, especially in conjunction with Naltrexone. Changed my life almost immediately while seemingly effortless, and helped maintain the change throughout the following year. I highly recommend it.
My physician recommended that I try the Sunnyside App and Sunnyside Med program to help me reduce my alcohol consumption. She specifically discussed naltrexone with me and felt it could be a helpful option. I was particularly interested in Sunnyside because I liked the idea of combining medication with the coaching and support offered through the program.
I completed the medical intake form and was subsequently notified that I had been denied. I understand that not everyone will qualify for a medication or telehealth program, and I absolutely respect that a medical provider needs to make that determination. My frustration is with what happened afterward.
When I tried to access the link that was supposed to provide additional information about the decision, I received a message saying, “Sorry, we couldn't find that page.” I then called the contact number, but the person I spoke with couldn't provide any information about why I had been denied. I also messaged my Sunnyside coach, who confirmed that I had been denied but was unable to provide any additional details.
For a program involving prescription medication and medical screening, I think patients should receive a clear explanation of the decision or at least have a way to communicate with the medical provider who reviewed their intake information. Simply being told that you were denied, followed by a broken link and support representatives who cannot provide additional information, is frustrating and disappointing.
I get bloodwork every three months and am under the regular care of my physician. I have an appointment with her tomorrow and will discuss naltrexone with her directly, so fortunately I have another avenue for treatment.
I really wanted to use Sunnyside because I liked the idea of having the medication combined with the app, coaching and ongoing support. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and transparency surrounding the medical review process has left me very disappointed with the experience.

I joined this app because I wanted to drink more mindfully. I was drinking too much and knew I wanted to cut back, but I absolutely did not want to quit completely.
The simple act of planning how many drinks I intended to have and then recording how many I actually drank 🤪made me realize that I could do much better.
Long story short, I am going to stop using this app… because it helped me become more aware of my relationship with alcohol, and I have now been sober for 20 months. I’m incredibly grateful for where that first step led me.

The advertising for this product is extremely deceptive. The implication that a person will pay $50 as an initial trial fee is not accurate. I was billed $50 plus another $297 and so far, the company has refused to reimburse me. I would never have chosen to give this product a trial for nearly $350.
I liked the accountability, but since I am the one who drinks, or not, I was looking more for good tips and medical background. The app's support is big on "you got this!", which is not really any help. The tips consist of drinking water instead of booze (duh), slowing down your drinking (duh), and doing dry months. Moreover, the app failed many times, causing more frustration than anything. They are also very big on pushing anti-drinking drugs (naltrexone), which I told them to stop, yet they still sent me. Once I realized that this whole thing is under my control, I made my own app, and have been successful using that. Cheaper as well.
I canceled my membership and my account was reactivated twice without my permission. I saved back to back text messages (you can’t call or email) where I canceled and it was restored twice. Pay attention to the charges, it feels like a scam.

One year sober, thanks to Sunnyside. At first I used it to cut back, and see how much I was truly drinking. This went on for over a year. One thing that made it so successful is I was honest about how much I was drinking. On the days I went over and in the beginning it was a lot, Sunnyside never made me feel guilty about it, if anything it encouraged me to keep going. It wasn’t until I finally decided to stop drinking all together. One day, became a week, a month, 3 months, 6 months and then 1 year. It wasn’t easy but as time went on it became more of a challenge to keep it going. My overall health is so much better and my mental health is even better. Sunnyside might not work for everyone but it definitely help me in my success.

What made my experience great is that I found the anonymity and support that I needed to recognize and deal with my drinking problem. I used it for two years, and quit drinking at the end of my second week using the application. I've not had alcohol since June 16th, 2024. It changed my life, or, I changed my life with this apps' help. A wise community who have largely seen it all and heard it all, but who treat everyone with respect and who go out of their way to offer helpful advice. I loved the easy tracking program as I loved the green box I got to tick every morning denoting another day of 0 alcohol. I did use the coaches whom i found to be wonderful and wise.
I used Sunnyside over a period of almost 4 years. Having a daily, weekly and monthly online check-in was entirely valuable.
It helped me keep focus and about as much on track as I could muster.
I tapered off the program a while back because I was in a decent groove. My drinking was lower than when I started.
I had better control.
These days I'm drinking 2 to 3 drinks a day with occasional no or low drink days.
It works for me.
I have been a long-time user of Sunnyside and it's helped me cut back my drinking tremendously the past three years. I was having 3-4 glasses of wine like every other night (drink, hungover, drink, hungover...) but now I only drink once in a while & pretty moderately. I love the daily tracking and data on how much I've cut back month-to-month. I also really like seeing the "Booze Bank" grow on how much money I've saved since I started drinking less.
I still occasionally drink and get cravings, so when I saw they were offering Naltrexone I gave it a shot, even though it was sort of outside my budget. Wow, where was this pill when I first started cutting back?! I can't believe how effective it is - after a week I just completely lost the urge to drink at all. I haven't noticed any side effects since I started taking it in January. Highly recommend Sunnyside for anyone who wants to drink less for good!!
Sunnyside uses positive feedback, known cognitive behavioral tactics and easy technology. This allowed me to create the kind of relationship with alcohol I wanted and to break a decades long daily drinking habit. Love Sunnyside!

I've been using the Sunnyside App for almost 2 years, and it has allowed me a greater understanding of my drinking habits. When I first started tracking my drinks, the most eye opening thing was that I was not "just having one." The app ensured I was honest with myself because it is completely judgement free, which is also why this will always be my preferred app in comparison to others. Inputting my daily drink total for the day or "0!" has become a part of my routine and it is very satisfying to have an understanding, a plan, and keep track of my tendencies. In addition, the app continues to evolve on a regular basis with features that are very helpful like the daily prompts, med, etc.

I started Sunnyside five years ago. Like a lot of people on this app, my drinking changed during covid. I leaned on alcohol to unwind and relax, and that habit stuck around long after, until a higher level of consumption had quietly become my new normal. I've spent the last four years working to change my relationship with alcohol. There have been plenty of life changes and obstacles along the way, but through all of it, Sunnyside has stayed a constant, a place to stay connected with other people who are focused on the same thing. That sense of not doing it alone has mattered more than I expected and it's the community that I keep coming back to. You can also tell the people behind this service genuinely care. My hope is that they keep reaching and helping even more members in the years ahead.

This app has made a huge difference in my life. Access to real people for such an affordable amount is amazing. Access to a support network, a way to track your progress, a way to be more mindful and accountable. It's truly one of the main reasons I'm mostly sober from alcohol today and I have a different relationship with it now where I can take it or leave it for the most part. I know my limits, my triggers, and what I need to prioritize and having the feature where they text to confirm your amounts is a god send cause I would never remember to enter the app every day. I don't engage much with the rest of the features anymore aside from checking my progress and showing that to people to show how proud I am of myself. But yeah it's amazing I highly highly highly recommend it. The only thing I'd wish they'd add is the ability to report decimals in your drinks cause based on what a standard drink is, you may have had 1.5 depending on percentages and ml or oz or whatever, or maybe you only had half a shot at a specific percentage, so half a drink. Just would be nice to be more accurate that way!

I’ve been a Sunnyside member for 4 years, and it has been an amazing support in helping me build a more mindful relationship with alcohol. The app is encouraging, realistic, and never judgmental, which makes it feel sustainable instead of overwhelming.
The community is awesome, and I love that Sunnyside offers so many different tools to support real-life progress. The podcast, challenges, daily check-ins, and reflection prompts have all worked really well for me and helped me stay connected to my goals.
Sunnyside has been a steady, supportive part of my wellness journey, and I’m so grateful for the clarity, accountability, and encouragement it provides. Highly recommend to anyone looking to drink more mindfully or create healthier habits around alcohol. 🌞

After drinking every night for the past 30 odd years, I broke that habit with the help of Sunnyside. My new habit is not drinking during the week and only imbibing in the weekends. I honestly didn’t think that would ever happen. Thank you Sunnyside!

My questions were always answered , and a counsellor was available when needed. The program was easy to follow
I was drinking 6 bottles of wine a week. I went down to one bottle a week , sometimes two. The advice I received was excellent on how to THINK about drinking before I drank and it worked for me. I am so grateful that I joined Sunnyside. I feel better , I’ve lost weight , and saved money. Thank you Sunnyside
I've been using Sunnyside for a couple years and have found it so helpful. You get out what you put in it, to some extent, but there are so many ways to use it. I started with just the tracking, but also added in the Naltrexone about a year ago and it has been a real help for me. I have always received quick responses to any questions or concerns, so not sure why others are having trouble, but that hasn't been my experience so far.
I'm currently using Sunnyside med with the Naltrexone option — it's not a magic solution, but it has worked really well for me and my goals. The daily pill makes the noise / cravings around drinking quieter and the tracking gives me a daily reminder to be aware of what I planned to drink and how much I'm drinking. Still, like any plan that involves changing habits you have to change your thinking/ actions. This gives me the space to do that. They have members discussions you can join with experts which I love as well as support, which makes it easier to change habits. Having this app/program and dealing with underlying reasons I was overdrinking in therapy has been a great solution. I've been drinking considerably less and I'm happy with the results so far!
