Care, repair, and a warm welcome
I bought my glasses at VIU Leipzig last year. My German wasn’t very good at the time, but they simply continued in English. That made the first visit easy and relaxed.
As a reference, I brought along my old Windsor frame with a gold finish, which I had ordered many years ago from a specialist vintage shop in New York. It had been my everyday glasses for almost ten years before the frame became bent. Other opticians wouldn’t even touch it, let alone repair it. At VIU, they examined the frame closely and straightened it on the spot, free of charge.
More recently, I returned after accidentally sitting on my new VIU glasses. Once again, I felt genuinely welcomed, and they handled the situation with the same care and attention as before.

Thoughtful consultation and outstanding attention to detail
I visited VIU in November for an eye exam and frame consultation, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The optician took a great deal of time with me, explained every step clearly, and never made me feel rushed, even on a busy Saturday afternoon.
I have a small face and strong preferences when it comes to frames, especially fit and comfort. After a disappointing experience with a competitor, I arrived a bit discouraged. The consultation here was the complete opposite. I felt listened to, understood, and guided thoughtfully through both frame and lens options.
The advice was honest and precise. We discussed aesthetics, face shape, materials, and everyday comfort. I ended up choosing a frame that felt like a modern evolution of a style I had worn for years, which made the transition easy. Measurements were taken carefully, and the glasses were made to fit my face properly.
Delivery was much faster than expected, only a few working days. When I picked them up, the same optician adjusted the fit patiently and reminded me I could always come back if needed, which I appreciate.
I also received a student discount, plus a case, cleaning cloth, and tote bag. Overall, a very professional, calm, and high quality experience. I will absolutely return for a second pair and can highly recommend both the brand and the store.

I bought glasses from VIU in Zurich a few years ago. Today I went in to ask if they could adjust the frames and they did so gladly and for free. Great service.
