Be careful with Deutschlandticket Renewal!!
If you're a tourist like I am, be very careful with the Deutschlandticket! It's only offered as a subscription, and if you don't cancel it then they will charge you for the next month and not offer you a refund even if you don't use it at all. In my opinion this is simply predatory and taking advantage of people, and there is absolutely no reason not to offer a refund if someone isn't using the ticket, and no reason not to email a notification that it will be renewing. To make matters worse, when I tried to get a refund they said it was "not possible" and they were "unable" to do it. Bullshit. They absolutely could do it, they just choose not to. Be careful so they don't get your money for absolutely nothing like they did mine!
Charged twice in the same month
Charged twice in the same month, on 19th and 26th of February (2 x 63 Euros).
Wrote them an Email on 26th, then raised a ticket on their website contact page.
To which I got 0 replies.

Misleading subscription trap in HVV Switch app – no English terms!
I have a serious complaint about the HVV Switch app, which is extremely non-transparent and frankly feels malicious.
Even when the interface is set to English, the most critical terms – such as the fact that the Deutschlandticket is a monthly subscription and must be canceled before the 10th of each month to avoid renewal – are only shown in German, with no English translation provided.
For non-German-speaking tourists, this feels like a deliberate trap. The app gives no clear indication that you’re signing up for a recurring subscription, nor does it warn you about the cancellation deadline. These crucial terms are only explained on the HVV website in English – but not in the HVV Switch app itself, which most travelers use to purchase tickets.
This is not just a localization issue – it’s a calculated omission that denies international users their right to informed consent. HVV must take responsibility, fix this deliberately misleading interface, and refund all affected foreign users.

U-Bahn is good good, S-Bahn is a nightmare
U-Bahn works usually pretty good good, but the S-Bahn is horrible. Every month it's a new problem. The trains don't arrive on time. Suddenly there's another construction side and they are not able to offer a good solution. Then the screens show the wrong time or wrong connections. I don't care about modern screens, if they don't display the right time for a month. I just want to arrive on time and not waste my time waiting for trains. You can basically never trust the S-Bahn connection. There is always a new reason. Just do you jobs like everyone else. In every other country, for example Portugal oder Marokko the trains arrive on time and it's not a complete mess.

Got fined, minsunderstood
Went on S5 today. Bought 1 adult and children ticket - 7.80€. (Usually anyone under 18 is considered a child), however on the the train, the rude ticket attendant charged us 60€ fine even after we explained that its our first time and that we are tourists and thoght that I could go as child on the one ticket with my mum, adult. Ticket attendant was having none of it. €60 is a ridiculous amount, especially for innocent fellow tourists who have made small mistakes to pay. I think €20 maybe €25 would have better. €60 better for locals. It's unfair to make tourists wast the large sums of money they were probably wanting to use on nice things/day out. Unacceptable.

This is a disgraceful company
This is a disgraceful company, from the administration down to the employees. People pay for monthly services and don't get them. The company should be dismantled, unemployed, and the government should take over and put in autonomous vehicles

Customer service is so poor
Customer service is so poor. They are so rude and only give you direct answers. They couldn’t help me resolve my problem. I would never recommend them!!!
WHY THE TRAIN TO WEDEL IS AGAIN NOT…
WHY THE TRAIN TO WEDEL IS AGAIN NOT GOING TO WEDEL!!!!!! IT IS AGAIN (!!!) ENDING IN BLANKENESE!!! Try to explain it by phone to your visitors from another country, why they are ending up in complete different part of the city!!!! ALWAYS AND ALWAYS!!!! YEARS!!! What is wrong with you, hvv???
And on top of that - I was lucky, caught taxi and it took me to Iserbrook instead of Süldorf. What should I do now?
Worst public transport system in…
Worst public transport system in Germany.
I have lived in 5 cities in Germany. But this is the worst ever. Change plans all the time. Never trust them. I have no words to describe how worse they are. Only reason to hate hamburg other than the weather.
Never a smooth trip
Never schedule as planned, always full and packed. The only thing on time and in sufficient number are the controllers.
Drivers are not nice and often close the door in front of you even if they see you running. I really don’t like using HVV.
On the most important night
On the most important night, Saturday, the metros every 20 minutes when you're lucky, because they change the plan as they want. And if you didn't wait already for 20 minutes, you can wait 20 minutes more.. ON SATURDAY NIGHT when Hamburg has the most important presence of turist and people everywhere. Ridiculous. I don't give you a cent anymore, fckrs!
While I have traveled to Hamburg
While I have traveled to Hamburg, Germany for nose surgery. Due to having a deviated nose and a blocked nose.
According to the doctor's diagnosis, I am not able to wear a mask. Well, some people came inside the bus to visit. very polite But one person among them I think. He was originally from Turkey. I think so, and really strange, He was extremely rude and rude and very harsh. He was talking with hand gestures. And he did not know English at all. While I had the medical file in my hand, he still not politely said that I should be fined. Interestingly, he did not speak English when I spoke. He pointed at my language in an insulting manner and said that he does not know my language. and loudly asked us to get off the bus. And I was late for nose surgery.
1- Why should that German-Turkish man treat people harshly and violently?
2- Why did none of them read my medical records? And they only insisted on the fine.
3- Why none of these people know English, which is an international language.
4-Why do you discriminate so much? Because I am an immigrant and an English citizen. Such an ugly behavior happened to me. In case I did not wear a mask, I had the reason and necessary documents with me.
Besides, you have not arrested me as a criminal. Only I have not worn a mask due to medical issues. When 5 people start arguing with a person who is a guest in your country and has entered your country for a nose job, you attack him with words and anger. And using German words that he does not understand. And then you start laughing. One hour before the operation……
I am really shocked before the operation. I hope that karma will be in your life every second.
5-I hope your manager knows English to read this report.
I will never forgive that German Turkish man in my life. Because he insulted me today. He abused his position and job.
I completely understand this kind of discrimination from people who have entered your country and are talking about it. I know. And I know it doesn't matter at all to the German authorities. If it was important, government employees would not treat ordinary people and citizens this way.
I am proud to live in England, the British government and the kind people of England. England was able to control the corona disease in two years with full management. and run the country. But in your country, after three years, people are still unhappy. You penalize people for the economic cycle. This work of yours will be recorded in the world. After three years, your people still have to wear masks in your country.

Hvv is the worst experience of my life…
Hvv is the worst experience of my life I was working in England , Ireland, France, but I have never experience that the stuff of one company such as Hvv being so rude and does not speak english, and being so fashist....🤮
Don’t use HVV!
If you don’t have to, don’t use their service.
They out do themselves everyday - in getting worse and more expensive.
Terrible
Terrible! The HVV was TOP about 5 years ago. Since they changed the app the times on the app never match the times on the bus schedule at the bus stop so I always miss a connection and end up waiting up to 20 mins. On top of that the info is always different from what the website online states. There is no more option for alternative routes either. All in all it sucks and I have to devise my own plan on how to get from A to B the shortest and/or fastest way. Thank goodness I know my way around in Hamburg!
Worst bus drivers I have ever seen and…
Worst bus drivers I have ever seen and most disrespectful ones. Never do I want to take a bus from this line again.
The bus drivers are racist, rude and disgusting. Any complaints made to this company, nothing changes.
If I could, I would give them 0 stars.

The bus 285 to Iserbrook regularly arrives late...and often misses the connection to the S1 to Wedel. Then one must wait 20 minutes for the next train...so frustrating!!
