Breaks quickly

Breaks quickly

I bought a Whisper Flex fan in June 2024 and it's broken just after two years - the fans stop turning. As it's *just* out of warranty, Duux refuse to replace or repair it, and they have no replacement parts available.

They sell expensive fans, so I'd expect them to last a lot longer, and have the ability to repair them.

When it works it's a nice fan, but it's too unreliable and the customer service is extremely disappointing.

A big thank you

A big thank you to Duux customer service. I contacted them after an incident at home through which a lead got broken. The replacement was out of stock, but they managed to locate a spare from a returned item, and sent it at no cost to myself. I can't explain here, but help like this is worth more than the sum of its parts. It took a long time to get responses from the team (it's a busy time of year I guess) but it was worth being patient.
Also, a mention to the product itself - the Whisper 3 fan - it's great! - quiet, intuitive to use, and plenty of speeds to choose from.

Quiet fan. Useless smart features.

Bought a Duux Whisper Flex 2 fan as like the idea of having it as a smart fan do I could set schedules to cool and switch off whilst using it as a bedroom fan.

Fan itself is quiet on lower speeds. But the WiFi connection is shocking. Despite doing everything that Duux suggests, it simply will not hold a WiFi signal for more than 24 hrs. So you have to keep deleting and resetting it.

Duux suggest it is faulty but can’t replace as they don’t stock them. It’s a seasonal item and now not in stock until next year!

I bought an oil-filled radiator from…

I bought an oil-filled radiator from Duux that leaked and badly burned my hand. When I reported the faulty unit and injury, Duux completely ignored the fact that I was burned. When I asked for a return option that didn't involve me handling the hot, leaking radiator, they told me to "wear gloves”, and completely disregarded that the unit could possibly be unsafe

They then accused me of lying by implying the leak was from somewhere else in my home, before backtracking to say it was "just a small leak" I could "wipe off." Expecting a customer to handle a leaking, burning heater after being injured is outrageous. Terrible product safety and nonexistent customer empathy.

Duux, if you are reading this, please just provide a safe return method that doesn’t involve me handling the unit. I already burned my hand, I suffer with mental health issues that makes further handling the unit incredibly distressing for me due to the injury, and at this point I am just looking for some flexibility in the return method.

Product excellent but Duux customer…

Product excellent but Duux customer service is pants. They keep saying they have spare parts (which is the whole ethos of Duux that one can replace worn parts) but they don't. Twice ordered new motor which they refunded first time and told me was not in stock then told me it was definitely in stock because the webpage still lists stock available... sat here boiling with no one at Duux taking responsibility for talking waste products! Can't order from Netherlands as won't list UK as a delivery option. Pants, pants, pants. Save your money and sanity and go with another company that delivers on promises. DPD have been notified, again, but still no product. Should be auto refunding not leaving customers to beg for their money back.

handheld fan/ rude. Support aftercare

Hi Duux I ordered the handheld fan, fan is very loud and not much power or cooling and I think it may be faulty, when I reached out to your customer support after nearly a week later I was that I can return but the cost of DPD postage will be decducted from the refund, when I complained and said this is totally unreasonable on a faulty item, I got no response back from the agent named Isabelle and to be fair the email she did send before was very rude. Really bad guys I have Duux rise fan aswell and I wanted to expand my Duux products but now I will never buy your products again, I will take the hit on postage but I will never recommend Duux products and I will be posting the emails and rudeness I received by Isabelle on my socials for all to see how duux support there customers. I HAVE NO WORDS ! SHOCKING

Avoid!!

Avoid!!! Ordered a duux elavate smart tower fan through Selfridges, expecting a £150 fan to do its job, plugged it in and within half an hour the fuse had blown. Obviously not been safety tested and could have been a fire hazard, disgusted that an expensive product could be so poor. Now left with no fan during a heatwave, very dissapointed.

Great fan, need more customer service staff

Duux make really nice quiet "Whisper" fans, and I bought an extra one for the heatwave. I received a "dispatched" email very quickly, but then nothing following up, and no fan.
I tried emailing but just got an auto reply saying responses might take time. After a day or two I tried calling the Duux UK customer service number, but it was closed. It turns out that in busy periods (i.e. the summer) they can't handle the volume of phone calls, and just shut down their customer service lines! Hmm.

However I eventually discovered that I was really buying the fan from a UK distributor called the Beam Group. I found a phone number for them online, and they were very helpful, and sent me a replacement straight away. But... they also accidentally sent me an extra one. Whoops. So then I had to ring again so they could collect it back.

The fan is great, the customer service people are actually really helpful when you get to them, but they really could do with investing in more people to help with customer service at busy times.

Fans never got delivered and they're ignoring my emails.

Surprised they sent me an email requesting a review as I'm yet to receive my order after a week and they've not come back to my emails asking about what's happening.

Ordered 2 fans last week then got an email saying they were sold out and they've cancelled my order. So I bought another pair in a different colour (Which should have been offered as an option). Then got an email from DPD saying they're expecting my order but as of today they're yet to receive the products. The website states that there's next day delivery for orders over £50, which mine is, so I emailed on Monday to check on the status of my order but I'm yet to hear back.

This is starting to reek of a con.

Thank you for the Whisper 3 fan

Thank you for inventing this fan, the quietest I could find on the market, I’m such a light sleeper and I can’t even hear this on the lower settings. Plus even when it’s really hot it blows out cool air rather than circulating warm air. Easy to assemble if you follow YouTube video, the enclosed instructions aren’t very comprehensive. The remote control means I can turn on and off from bed, and it goes horizontal and vertical should you so wish to alter the direction that much. I can’t praise it enough! I can’t comment on delivery as I ordered from Amazon.

The fan is very good but - warning! -

The fan is very good but - Warning! - the website did not mention that the unit arrives in a complex jumble of parts needing expert assembly. Although I am experienced at putting flatpacks etc together, this is an electrical item so I did not want to risk assembling it myself. Had to pay an electrician £70 to assemble it.

Whisper Flex - amazingly quiet!

Bought the Whisper Flex during the red warning heat wave. Perfect product for night sleeping as this fan is sooo quiet (we find ourselves checking it’s on at times). Arrived on time and used a quality courier firm for delivery. Delighted with our purchase.

What a lovely fan, but

What a lovely fan. Unfortunately it is faulty. I have tried to leave a review on the Duux website, maybe as it is only a 2 star review the webpage will not allow the review. Nice design and quiet, the app can be glitchy and takes getting used to. Without the wobbling fan fault I would have happily rated the fan 5 stars

Duux Elevate Smart Tower Fan - A poor experience

I really wanted to like this fan, but my experience with both the product and the customer service has been extremely disappointing.

I bought the Elevate Smart Tower Fan from Debenhams and, immediately, it developed an audible mechanical rhythmic/pulsing noise whenever oscillating. I contacted Duux on 30 May, and after troubleshooting, they confirmed the noise wasn’t normal and agreed to send a replacement once I returned the faulty unit.

On 9 June, they sent me a DPD QR code. I was told a replacement would be sent within 14 days of my defective fan arriving back to Duux. I returned the fan within the next few days as instructed, which arrived with Duux on 12 June per a notification from DPD.

Instead, on 23 June, I received an email from Debenhams saying I’d been refunded without explanation. When I chased it up, in a response 3 days later I was told the fan was “out of stock”, despite the fact it is still showing as available on the Duux website at the time of my writing (although admittedly not on Debenhams).

To add to this, the fan is now only available at a higher price, meaning I can’t repurchase the same product without paying more.

So now I am left without the fan I ordered 1 month ago, in warm weather, after weeks of waiting, and no replacement for the product I originally chose. Duux's response was that they should have notified me, but no actual resolution was offered, despite having the item in stock on their own website.

Overall, a really poor experience. Between the product fault, the lack of communication, and the unexpected refund, I can’t recommend this fan or the support process behind it.
