Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 187 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently mention that the tiny sensors fail quickly, disconnect often, and provide inaccurate blood glucose readings. Consumers also struggle with unhelpful customer support, long wait times, and complicated replacement processes that make troubleshooting extremely frustrating. Some reviewers were happy with customer service representatives who promptly provided free replacements when issues arose. Others noted that the mobile application works smoothly and the overall system offers great daily freedom and convenience when everything functions properly.

Awful customer service.

My husband is type 1 diabetic and uses Dexcom. The experience every 6 months to get his prescription renewed and his next supply of sensors shipped is the most infuriating experience. It’s impossible to speak to a customer service agent, but once you do, they seem to always have a different excuse for why sensors have not been shipped, assure us they will be shipped ASAP, and then are never shipped. When we have asked to speak to a supervisor, they refuse.

They should just let pharmacies sell their sensors like FreeStyle Libre. My husband would prefer to stick with Dexcom but is looking into the switch based entirely on his customer service experience.

I just got off the phone with customer service which wasn’t helpful at all. I just wanted to see what to do about two failed sensors back to back. We’ve had dexcon for several yrs G6 now G7. I will not be using after the service I received today. Switching to Libre 3 plus Thats smaller, cheaper and last 14-15 days. Try working on customer service.

The new Dexcom g7 is a joke

The new Dexcom g7 is a joke. not only is the forced placement on the back of the arm very inconvenient for me it will not stay connected to the omni pod app. my phone battery dies multiple times a day now since the app keeps sending notifications every few minutes due to the Dexcom un-connectivity. This seems like a ploy by a greedy company to force people to use more supplies. Not only will I have to start sticking my finger again since I NEVER get the whole 15 days out of these pieces of crap they fall off after 8 days even with the extra donut adhesive. Shame on Dexcom!

Switched from the Libre to Dexcom…

Switched from the Libre to Dexcom hoping it would track my fast drops to low blood sugar and it actually did better than Libre however, the sensors have failed over 80% of the time over the last year. I will be heading back to the libre! The Libre failures was very low!

I started with G6

I started with G6, Now G7- It is horrible. I get "LOW" readings at night but never feel low. PLUS- and this is BIG. The sensors fail almost everytime. or at least 50% of the time.many never make it through the shorter "Warm-Up" period. G7 is complete garbage. Go back to G6 NOW!
I am supposed to start with the 15-day G7. I have ZERO confidence in DEXCOM.

Have been libre2 up till i found a 3 pack on special so thought I would give it a try.

Completely inaccurate readings despite 3 different calibrations.

Woke up this morning to find “no signal” and I need to keep the phone within 33 feet of the sensor, phone is on my bedside cabinet which is literally attached to bed.

Now waiting for it to reconnect to the phone to see how bad it is today.

My 6 year old has been diagnosed with…

My 6 year old has been diagnosed with type 1 for 14 months. I myself have had type 1 for 29 years.
I have very little issue with Dexcom CGMs personally, but they don’t last more than a few days on my son. He’s perfectly healthy aside from T1D, is slim and muscular, and very active. Having to stab his skin with insulin pump infusion sets and replacement sensors nonstop is extremely taxing on him and us, not to mention what thought could be running through his young mind regarding how this could have happened to him.

Now, here’s the part where Dexcom as a company, should apologize to a large percentage of their customers.
Your materials are garbage, and your manufacturing practices and processes are obviously subpar. The high failure rate of your products over the years is staggering, and tet no improvement has been made. Your quality control is also very sad. I work in manufacturing and know very well how quality standards paint a picture for a manufacturer. Dexcom should be sued….oh wait, you already are in the middle of a few class action suits.

Lastly, if anyone is employed by Dexcom and reading this, I would hope you have the ethics to seriously think if you want to remain a part of this company.
Fix your shit.

My wife has now had 4 Dexcom G7's sensor's not working in the last 2 months what's going on & why do Dexcom products become so unreliable. Most unreliable medical product out there. In the past she had to completely quit using Dexcom G6's as they didn't work at all & Dexcom won't let her change to Dexcom G7 15 day.

Beware of Dexcom CGM products

I have use Dexcom for about 2 years. Currently the 7. Have had sporadic sensor failures, but overall until recently not many complaints. I just refilled a batch of 9. 1st one wouldn't locate in the app. Had to rip it off skin. 2nd one wouldn't locate. Ripped it off skin. Uninstalled app and reinstalled. Phone off. Phone on. Tried 3rd one. Same failure. Ripped it off. Called Dexcom. They told me to try another. Same result. Ripped 4th one off skin. They agreed to replace the 4th, but only way they will replace 5th thru 9 is if I insert each one to see if they fail. That could be 5 more Ripped off skin. I hung up and called back 2 times. Got Same answer. Insert all or they wont replace. They also wont send a shipping label to return the 5 although 4 out of a batch of 9 is a good probability the batch is bad. I did have one that wasnt part of this batch left so I inserted that one and all is well with it and proves its not my phone. They said go to pharmacy and pharmacy would return. Called pharmacy, they cant return. Called Dexcom back. They stuck to their story so basically my insurance paid for 9 trash sensors with no replacement. I will be looking for new brand.

I have been using G7 patches for a…

I have been using G7 patches for a little less than a year. I have found that what you gain in convenience you lose in accuracy. I have to recalibrate the monitor at least once a week because the reading will be off up to 15 points either way. The sensor is supposed to adhere to your skin for 15 days but will fall off in as little as 10. I am ready to go back to pin pricking a couple of times a day.

DEXCOM G7

I used the G6 for approximately 3 years until they were recently discontinued. I now am prescribed the 10day G7. The only positive thing I can say is the warm up time has improved significantly! The G7 takes 30minutes in comparison to 3 hours for the G6. The adhesive used by Dexcom is pitiful!! I have experienced 4 sensors falling off my body shortly after insertion! I have used alcohol wipes, skin prep, over patches and all the tricks recommended by the company. When I reported the sensors to Dexcom hoping for replacements, I received an email stating they needed more information from the Dexcom Clarity app (that I didn’t know existed) because I was informed to use the G7app. No Clarity app, no replacements supposedly. They made me feel like I was lying about using the sensors even after I sent the documentation they requested from my Tandem app! Now every time I call to check on the status of the devices, I am told that they will “escalate” my request and I hear nothing! When calling Dexcom, customers are told by the company president that he is there to make sure the customers get what they need, JOKE!!! I would not recommend this product to ANYONE!! THANKS FOR NOTHING, DEXCOM!!!

Dexcom G7 15 day sensor 90% failure rate

I have been using the Dexcom G7 15 day sensor for several months and I have yet to have one last through the extra 12 hour grace period. I have only once had it give me the full 15 days.

Over the last few years there quality…

Over the last few years there quality has gone down hill, my sensors keep failing and they are wrong more than they are right.
Dexcom also keeps making it harder to contact support, and they want the serial number to the sensor that has failed , like you should know to write that down.
Over all they started out much better and had a good reputation , unfortunately I do not trust there products anymore and they have earned that.

One star performer

I've been on the Dexcom G7 for just over 3 months. Prior to that I was on the Dexcom G6 for about 5 years. In just three months time I have experienced device failures, senor life ending prematurely. Inaccurate readings very wide range of numbers resulting in my having to constantly take finger stick readings. This is product in my opinion that they should have tested more on it before putting out to the public. Definitely a one star and that's quite generous.

My pump failed on Sunday morning

My pump failed on Sunday morning. Tandem will not ship a replacement out until Monday. This is unacceptable. You can't claim 365/24/7 support and then not ship emergency pump replacements on certain days. This is terrible customer service and it leads to poor health outcomes as I will now struggle for two days with MDI to keep myself alive. It boils down, plain and simple to money. Eat the cost and ship emergency pumps on Sunday. If you are an executive for Tandem, I hope you have nightmares forever.

Only 3 stars bc of the pricetag

Only 3 stars bc they are ridiculously expensive. I have had only 1 issue with a sensor needle recoiling the filament so it obviously didn’t work. But I took screenshots of everything and sent it off to customer service and I had a replacement sent within 2 weeks. So I guess I can’t complain, it works, it sticks on well (actually hard to get off!!) and it is mostly accurate otherwise I can do a calibration and adjust it. I would recommend it to others, but it sucks that it costs $6.60AUD a day…

I purchased 2 Dexcom plus one sensors on the 29/09/2026 and within a couple of days they had a promotion buy 2 get one free. I contacted Dexcom asking if it was possible for me to get the free one, after they checked my order and confirmed my order they declined me the free sample. Obviously, customer service is not one of their strengths, and I will cease to use this product and use their competitors, I am sure they will apricate my money and business.
