I wanted to open a savings account. I opened it and then was asked to pay 15 euros into this account. To my surprise this 15 euros ended up on a different Bunq account. I can’t find or reach anymore. The savings account is still zero euros. This is strange and means that it is not a free savings account, as Bunq claims. I will try to end the savings account. Hopeless app.

I’ve been a bunq customer for several years now, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive.
One thing that really impressed me was how bunq helped protect me from fraud. I was targeted by a telephone scam, and someone attempted to take money from my account. Thanks to bunq’s security features and instant notifications, I was able to spot the activity immediately and quickly deny the charges before any real damage was done. That gave me a lot of confidence in the bank.
I also love how easy it is to keep track of my finances. The app gives a clear overview of my money, transfers are straightforward, and everything can be managed from my phone without the hassle of visiting a physical bank branch.
Another big plus is the customer service. Whenever I’ve had a question, I’ve been able to contact them directly through the app and receive a helpful response surprisingly quickly.
Overall, bunq has saved me time, made banking more convenient, and provided peace of mind when it comes to security. I’ve been a happy customer for years and would have no hesitation recommending bunq to friends, family, or anyone looking for a modern and reliable banking experience.

I highly recommend Bunq, especially because this is not the first time they have protected me in a situation like this!
I almost got scammed for €165 by a non-government website while applying for a visa. Instead of the official ~€25 fee, they took €165 from my account.
I’ve realized that when you use your smartphone to book tickets or pay for services, it is so much harder to notice which website you are actually clicking. Google often proposes these rip-off scam websites right at the top of the list, and there are so many victims out there falling for this exact trap on their phones.
I honestly didn't count on getting this amount back, but I applied for a chargeback through Bunq. To my absolute joy, the money was back in my account within just a few days! Bunq once again protected my funds perfectly, proving why they are such a reliable bank.
My advice if you use Bunq:
Please create a dedicated credit card sub-account that you use for online payments, and transfer only the exact amount needed for the transaction right before you pay. I forgot to do it this time, but thanks to Bunq’s excellent protection, it ended well.
Thank you, Bunq!

I've had a savings account with bunq for a couple of years.
Never had an issue with withdrawing money to my other account. (Notably that is also the account that most of the money came from)
Now I had a small emergency and my normal account is almost empty. So I wanted to book some money to it. (€1500)
It was suddenly marked as suspicious and keeping my money for 24h.
I have withdrawn similar amounts of money before. Only ever withdrew money to this account and suddenly there is an issue.
Customer support says: nothing we can do. You can disable all safety features in the future to prevent this.
I just want this one account that is in the same name, that is the only account it frequently interacts with to be able to withdraw a very normal amount of money within a short time.
I don't want to disable all safety features to do that.

account blocked for AML for more than 3 months and this is ILLEGAL, whatever they say: that they obey the law, which they do not. No info request, just blocked and no response, avoid! Support not responding, totally scammers.

Hypocritical marketing hides discriminatory practices
bunq's "bank of the free" branding and rainbow imagery are pure pinkwashing. In reality, they operate with zero transparency and enforce discriminatory policies. As an EU citizen working in West Africa, my account was suddenly closed for "suspicious activity" after sending money twice to my personal bank account in Cape Verde.
A bank that claims to champion freedom and global connection shouldn't punish customers for sending money to developing nations. Don't be fooled by their progressive PR—their actions speak louder than their slogans.

Guys, avoid their app. Total disaster. They will block you without any explanation. Just avoid. Save your money. Absolutely terrible experience 🤮

Buying and selling stocks costs four times more than with competitor R. I bought CAC 40 stock and they charged me €200 twice ( buying and selling). I did the same withR and only paid €83 (taxes France) at buying and no fees (first ten free with Metal plan). With basic plan three free transactions and after that 0.25% fees (I paid 2% to Bunq b/s).... Moreover they keep a significant part of dividends without transparence..

Bunq has very weird business policies! My law firm wired to my bunq account and I paid rent with the reference „rent August 26“ as well as Kindergarden invoices. First they inquired about the rent payment, even though reference was made in the wire order. Then they inquired about the incoming wire from the law firm and I had to bring a confirmation for that-which I did! Then they cancelled my wire order, booked them back and closed my account and informed me that I can only get to the remaining balance after one month! It seems rather fraudulent and as if they are willfully sitting on clients money and use these funds to show it as their deposit or for whatever purpose! ABSOLUTE FRAUD! I have filed a complaint with the Dutch bank regulators!

Application for a business account was a total unreal experience. Smooth talking chatbots running into loops 3 times or more, requesting the same information again and again. This is what the Brave New World looks like. Captured by technology, no human comes to rescue. Stay away while you still can!

Please never ever go with this Bank , Without any notification they blocked my account asking for further verification , I submitted my documents on same day and after 6 days I am still in dark , the bank is holding my hard earned money . i want to raise it as a crimal offense.

Been using them for 1 month and have nothing but problems. My mother in law sent me £200 that should have cleared instantly and 5 days later still nothing and they won’t just call the partner bank to trace the funds. They knew I have zero funds and no food but still cannot seem to fix a simple transaction!
Do not use this bank they are not ready

bunq keep changing their statements and reasons why i cannot withdraw my money. Their systems and support are useless. I did reach out as they suggested but service is 1/10. Took me 2 days to get money and another 1/2 days to close this useless account

I recommended this app to my father for his minimal eBay activities. The experience was devastating. Opening the account was relatively easy, But once the money from selling a designer mirror (private sell) arrived on the account, the trouble began. They demanded more and more personal information via an AI. Information that would usually only be relevant to the tax office. Income, bills for rent and side costs. Even when we got the AI to accept just a screenshot of the eBay sell and a copy of the eBay message, that the mirror has been payed via eBay and an extra picture of my father, who is 78 years old holding his ID beneath his face (humiliating) they still didn't accept that and closed the bank account yesterday. Now 3400,- € are stuck and my father and his wife need this money dearly. It will probably take weeks or months to get the money back, if at all. Be aware. Data collectors and fraud!

They say it’s a “Free” business account but you end up paying €0.13 per instant transaction. So if you are a small business or sole trader, Bunq will definitely not work for you. I’ve just closed my account because of this. Better to look elsewhere

Set up a "feature" that holds transfers for 24 hours in the name of safety. I needed to pay my car insurance immediately, and an AI claimed there was no way for even a human to override their safety feature. That's absurd.
A human can easily tell the difference between a real and time sensitive payment and potential fraud. Having a human review the payment before putting it through, possibly asking for evidence it isn't fraud, like checking IBANs to make sure they actually go to a legitimate service provider, would make sense here. The AI insisting even a human can't override that is absurd.
