I didn't know about RAC Mobile Mechanics until a i got a warning light on my dashboard and found my Honda main dealer couldn't even look at it for 6 weeks! I found a similar story at other main dealers but, whilst searching on-line for local garages, I discovered the RAC's 'at home' diagnostic and repair service.

Our mechanic, Ashley, came and did the diagnostic the next day. It took less than 10 minute to confirm that yes, I had a fault, but that it was still safe to drive (which was my main concern). That would have taken a 2 hour round trip to my main dealer to get that same diagnostic report so I was very impressed. Good price too.

I was even more impressed when Ashley said 'this is one of the jobs we can fix on your drive too' and quoted me a fair price then and there. The car was booked in for repair a few days hence and Ashley came back this morning with the part. He fitted it in a very short period of time and then took the car for a test drive (which is part of their service). So I've had the fault diagnosed and fixed (all on my drive) before any of the local Honda dealers could even get the car booked in to be looked at. I am very impressed with this service.

I was very impressed with Ashley too. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and exactly the kind of person you'd want looking after your car.

I've been an RAC member for years (for their breakdown cover) but had no idea this service existed. I will definitely use it again.

I was looking for a good oil for wooden utensils and found Deer and Oak offering a Carbonised Bamboo chopping board as a replacement for plastic chopping boards. I had planned to do that this year so bought a board as well as the oil. Very impressed. Looks good, hard wearing and easy to keep clean. I've just oiled it for the first time and it came up super smart. Plus, you get a follow-up email from the company after you've bought the board with tips and advice. How often do you get that these days? Great service.

My wife and I went in to Vodafone Oxford for some guidance on how to use the My Vodafone app, which Dan quickly provided. But he then went on to sort out our tariffs on both accounts and get us on a much better deal. Excellent service from someone who clearly knew his subject inside out. Thanks Dan.
