SPINA
Structure parameter inference approach for endocrine feedback control
SPINA is software for the rapid, reliable and accurate determination of constant structure parameters of endocrine feedback control systems. It is a class of static function tests that require nothing more than steady-state concentrations of hormones or metabolites obtained in vivo. The first version of this cybernetic approach had been developed for the evaluation of the functional status of the thyroid gland, i.e. thyroid's secretory capacity (gain of thyroid, GT or SPINA-GT) and sum activity of peripheral deiodinases (GD or SPINA-GD). A second version has been established for insulin-glucose homeostasis. It delivers the secretory capacity of pancreatic beta cells (SPINA-GBeta), an estimate for the insulin receptor amplification (SPINA-GR) and a static disposition index as a measure for the loop gain of the feedback loop (SPINA-DI). Both implementations of SPINA have been validated in more than 50 clinical studies based on large cohorts. -

Virtual Laboratory Environment
A multi-modeling and simulation environment to study complex systems
VLE is a multi-modeling and simulation environment to study complex dynamic systems. VLE is based on the discrete event specification DEVS. and it implements the DSDE formalism (A merge of Dynamic Structure DEVS, DSDEVS, with Parallel DEVS, PDEVS). VLE provides a complete set of C++ libraries, called VFL (VLE Foundation Libraries), to develop DEVS models, to gets results of simulations, to launch simulation on cluster. The models can be developed with the DEVS formalism or with the classical mathematical formalism: Ordinary Differential Equation with Euler, Range-Kutta or QSS integrator, Finite state automaton (FDDEVS, UML State chart, Hybrid Petri net). The VLE environment provides an IDE to develop C++ models, DEVS coupled models. VLE have also three ports to use the VFL with Python, Java and R programming languages. -

The following classes are provided : POSIXcti, POSIXctp, TimeIntervalDataFrame, TimeInstantDataFrame, SubtimeDataFrame ; methods to switch from a class to another and to modify the time support of series (hourly time series to daily time series for instance) are also defined. SwathTUNER combines usability and flexibility for the selection of different SWATH data acquisition strategies to address the requirements of multiple experimental conditions. It can be used for any acquisition instrument, including FT-based analyzers, where the same principles with respect to variable precursor isolation windows apply. Fixed and variable windows based on equalizing the distribution of either the precursor ions or the total ion current within each window can be created.
