AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

On 26/10/26, having very clearly heard and understood my concerns and frank disgust at this company's behaviour and mishandling of the probate of my late Mother, (because I published the truth on Trustpilot – see review dated 24/10/26), the Complaints Manager of this company claimed:

1) The Probate Management would be transferred to a new operative
2) Progress would be made

The truth is that THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNTRUE. The Complaints Manager even misspelled my address - though that would have been forgiven IF THEY HAD JUST PROGRESSED THE PROBATE.

On 30/10/26, the SAME INDIVIDUAL who was responsible for completely mishandling the probate was CLEARLY STILL ALLOCATED TO THE CASE, since he once more emailed authority forms for the release of my late Mother's will IN THE WRONG NAME on no less than THREE PIECES OF CORRESPONDENCE ON THAT DAY! THEREBY ENSURING DELAY AND ZERO PROGRESS WITH THE PROBATE.

Even more sinister was his attempt to obtain signature on Intestacy forms - ATTEMPTING, IT WOULD APPEAR TO NEGATE MY MOTHER'S WILL!!!!

IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT BEHAVIOUR FROM THE CO-OP IS ACCIDENTAL!!! From reading reviews from other bereaved families, this does not appear to happen again, and again and again to Anglo-British families, composed of pink skinned people.

IT IS VERY, VERY DIFFICULT NOT TO CONSIDER THAT THIS IS RACIST, DELIBERATE PERSECUTION AND VINDICTIVENESS TOWARDS A FAMILY FROM AN ETHNIC MINORITY. Especially after I have made:

1) A Formal Complaint to the Co-op
2) A complaint to the Legal Ombudsman
3) Publicised the Co-op's behaviour on Trustpilot as recently as 24/10/26!

Furthermore, despite the fact this company are well aware that the case has been referred to the Legal Ombudsman, (because I sent them a copy of the complaint letter), they stil insist on persisting in this behaviour.

Since every letter I have ever sent them has my correct details spelt out within the body of the letter, at the end and in my email address, it beggars belief that this realistically is ACTUALLY REPEATED, 'ACCIDENTAL' INCOMPETENCE?

Clearly the Co-op has ZERO concern whatsoever that its mishandling of the case has necessitated formal complaint and has NO FEAR OR RESPECT whatsoever for the Legal Ombudsman and its authority - a worrying situation indeed.

BUT EVEN WORSE - THERE IS ZERO CARE FOR GRIEVING FAMILIES!!!

Recently made my own funeral arrangements through Southern Co-operative Funeral services in Fratton.
The staff were most helpful and I was later contacted by Head Office to confirm my exact wishes.
They went through everything carefully and thoroughly. I confirmed my choice, paid over the phone and soon after received all the documents, together with necessary instructions.
I would class it as a most satisfactory process and would highly recommend them.

Andover Branch: Our darling Mother died in
January 2026. The Controllers, Keerie and Lee arrived to the nursing home with grace
and dignity, as the occasion required. My sister and I were put at
ease, and as they left, we knew that our Mother would be well taken
care of at the Andover Funeral Home.
When it came to making the
funeral arrangements, we delt with Tess, who was temporarily
seconded to the Andover branch. Tess was extraordinarily generous
with her compassion, kindness and professional knowledge. She
ensured that our requirements, according to our Mother's wishes
were catered for all along the way and Tess spent a lot of time and
energy ensuring that all went according to plan for us. Tess was
professional, conscientious and proficient as she worked towards
making our Mother's funeral a most precious and bespoke event.
She even made a suggestion for a suitable Celebrant for our
requirements: Kevin Paterson. Kevin supported us all so skillfuly and
showed real empathy. Kevin was thoughtful, dignified and
accommodating.
Jackie, who also assisted us at the Andover branch,
was helpful, knowledgeable, kind and professional. She ensured
that our Order Of Service was created to our specifications.
At the
funeral, Keerie could not have been a better representative. From the moment she
walked respectfully in front of the hearse to the end of the service
Keerie was cognisant of the spirit and tone of the occasion and
supported us with great consideration - even wearing a purple tie!
We are delighted with the
service we received from the Andover branch. To Tess, Jackie,
Keerie, Kevin and Lee - thank you, lovely people.

Such lovely staff go above and beyond. So please I have got my own funeral plan with them.

The Funeral Consultant at Emsworth, Debbie, was amazing. So kind, thoughtful, sensitive, and with perfect attention to all the details that my brother and I hadn't thought of, but needed to, in a safe, caring environment. And the team on the day were outstanding - making it such a beautiful, respectful service for our wonderful mum. All communications were easy, compassionate and personal and so much more than I would have expected.
I'd like to mention Revd. Jim Thomas too, the minister, who was so respectful and professional but also kind and warm, and just who our mum would have chosen.

Made an appointment quick and easy to discuss funeral plans for my grandma.
This was quite a daunting thing for her but was put at ease by the staff. Managed to sort her a funeral plan for what she wanted, without any pressures. The whole process was not rushed either.
Both my Nan and myself are very happy with the outcome and can rest easy that there is something in place for the if and when.

Very helpful and experienced member of staff . Dealt with all our questions with sensitivity and put us at our ease .

The website was easy to use,filling in the form was easy.all was explained as I went through the process of purchasing my plan.

Very straight forward process, good value, Telephone operators helpful, and you can always find a local branch if you have queries.

During the sad lost of my husband Ian the staff at Southern Co-operative Funerals especially Tammy from the Fareham branch has help me by listening to my wishes for Ian and helping get though the paper work and giving me a hug!! when l most needed it, so lovely. Thank you all so much for your kindness.
