Very easy to understand their website, clear cut rules, and an attractive design

Exceptionally speedy response to my email. Polite, warm and welcoming in the tone of her response.

Insurance in name only. We had a policy with them for a few months. Crown on front tooth fell out but luckily was able to go to an emergency dentist the same day. Then tried to file a claim...first there were many rounds of "when did the pain start" emails in order to process the claim. There was no pain which I explained in more than a dozen emails. Then it switched to "what day did the onset of symptoms start" which I answered in more than a dozen new emails and the date was on the paperwork from the dentist. The crown fell out, it got glued back in, all in the same day. Claim denied because they just kept asking for day of onset of symptoms which I provided repeatedly. . Luckily it was only 79 euros but if they won't pay for a straightforward claim like that, very glad nothing worse happened while I had their "insurance". Most of the high reviews seem to be people who never had to file a claim. Awful customer service. If you do file a claim, resend all the info because the emails will be coming from different people and the info you previously provided will not be included automatically. Better yet don't use them!

I honestly can’t recommend SafetyWing enough, especially after having to actually use our insurance during what was a really stressful time.

While living in Bali, our 18-month-old daughter became extremely unwell and ended up needing hospital treatment at Bali International Hospital. She was severely dehydrated, had repeated vomiting and diarrhoea, needed IV fluids and multiple tests, and was admitted to hospital more than once. As a parent, being in hospital with a very sick toddler in another country was stressful enough without having to worry about whether we were going to be financially covered.

Our total out-of-pocket hospital expenses came to AUD $1,860.54.

What really impressed me was how straightforward the insurance process was. We submitted our claim, and SafetyWing reimbursed us in full, with no excess, and the reimbursement came through incredibly quickly.

The hospital was also able to liaise with SafetyWing to arrange a Guarantee of Payment (GOP), which made such a huge difference and gave us one less thing to worry about while our daughter was receiving treatment.

I’ve always hoped we'd never need to make a travel insurance claim, but you don't really know how good an insurance company is until you actually need them. For us, SafetyWing genuinely came through when we needed it most.

Travelling and living overseas with two young children comes with enough uncertainty already. Knowing we had insurance that actually responded quickly, covered our expenses and made the whole process so much easier gave us enormous peace of mind.

5 stars from us. We’ll absolutely continue using SafetyWing for our Bali chapter.

Connection was quick. Advice was solid. However, their travel insurance didn’t cover traveller’s over 70 which is was I needed.

I've used Safety Wing for a few years, but I never had a claim with them until my last four month backpacking trip abroad that I just got back from. In fact, I had two claims - one at the beginning and one at the end of my trip.

I'm happy to say Safety Wing paid both! The reason for four stars instead of five is that with the first claim they asked for what seemed to me a bit excessive paperwork. I got them the receipt from my claim at the hospital, but then they wanted a screenshot of my credit card statement to prove that I actually paid the bill.

Maybe I'm just spoiled with other health insurance I've had where I don't need that much (or any) paperwork, but it seemed like a bit much to me.

Ultimately, what matters is they paid that claim and my second one (which was for a long travel delay and required a lot less paperwork), and that's what counts!

I would highly recommend Safety Wing, and I will absolutely use them again on my next travel excursion. Thank you Safety Wing!
