Abstract
A process wherein a plurality of cannabis strains may be combined into a single dose of cannabis. The resulting composition is an accurately dosed combination of various strains of cannabis and the desired benefits of each of those strains. The resulting composition may be formed into various shapes, thereby making the composition easy to administer orally or through smoking or vaping.
Description
PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING VARIOUS FORMS
& STRAINS OF CANNABIS
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to edible and smokable forms of cannabis and more particularly a process for combing multiple forms and strains of cannabis into a single composition that may be smoked and/or digested by eating, thereby allowing a user to receive the benefit of multiple strains of cannabis from a single dose.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Cannabis has long been used for medicinal purposes and recreational purposes. Cannabis strains may be either pure or hybrid varieties of the Cannabis genus of plants, which include the species C. sativa and C. indica.
While both strains share the same cannabinoids, they vary in levels of THC, CBD, and Terpenes that classify them as Sativa or Indica. Sativa' s cannabinoid profile is dominated by high THC levels and low or no CBD levels. Indica's chemical profile shows a more balanced mix, with moderate THC levels and higher levels of CBD. Indica strains relax muscles and work as general analgesics, also helping with sleep. A cancer patient hoping to relieve the pain from chemotherapy may benefit from the effects of an Indica plant. Sativa strains produce more of a euphoric high, lifting the consumer's mood and
therapeutically relieving stress, indicating Sativas may be useful at relieving anxiety and depression.
Varieties are developed to intensity specific characteristics of the plant, or to differentiate the strain for the purposes of marketing or to make it more effective as a drug. Established strains offer many qualities that very from one strain to the next. Many of these qualities would be beneficial to users if a process was available wherein the strains were able to be combined in a consistent manner.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a process wherein a plurality of cannabis strains may be combined in a consistent manner.
The present invention is a pharmaceutical composition of ground cannabis flour, cannabis oil and cannabis kief wherein a process forming the composition allows for a variety of blends to be created into a single end product. To form the composition, first the strain or strains of cannabis used to form the composition may be taken from a plurality of cannabis strains, thus making a compound of flowers which is finely ground and separated from cannabis kief. Then, cannabis oil is warmed to a low temperature until the cannabis oil is thin enough to stir. Next, the ground cannabis flour and cannabis oil are blended into an even consistency, thereby creating a mash compound. The mash compound is then warmed in a humid oven until an even saturation is achieved. Then the mash compound is cooled to room temperature. The mash compound may then be separated into desired sizes and weights. After the mash compound is separated into
desired doses, it may be molded into shapes. The outer surface of the molded mash compound is then covered with cannabis kief.
The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention should become even more readily apparent to those skilled in the art upon a reading of the following detailed description in conjunction with the drawings wherein there is shown and described illustrative embodiments of the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The present invention is a pharmaceutical composition of cannabis flour, cannabis oil and cannabis kief wherein a process forming the composition allows for a variety of blends to be created into a single end product. To form the composition, first the strains of cannabis used to form the composition may be taken from a plurality of cannabis strains, thus making a compound of flowers which is finely ground and separated from cannabis kief. After the mash compound is separated into desired doses, it may be molded into shapes. The outer surface of the molded mash compound is then covered with kief.
The resulting composition comprises the mash compound having formed as described above using at least one flour produced from a first strain of cannabis mixed with at least one oil produced from a second strain of cannabis. The resulting mash compound is a formable compound that is then separated into individual doses and each dose is formed into a geometric shape, such as a ball, cube and so forth, or other equivalent shapes. The formed shapes are then coated in at least one layer of cannabis kief dust produced from a third strain of cannabis.
The following examples illustrate various resulting embodiments of the composition of the present invention being made using the process of the present invention to combine various strains of cannabis. The cannabis oil used to form the mash compound of the present invention and the resulting composition is preferably derived from a different strain of cannabis from which the cannabis flour and the cannabis kief are derived from. Said cannabis kief may be substituted by a cannabis shatter, cannabis crystalline or equivalent cannabis product that will form an outer coating on the formed mash compound. As illustrated below, the ingredients are chosen from a Cannabis Strain A, Cannabis Strain B and Cannabis Strain C, each of which has one or more unique properties different from that of the other strains being used:
EXAMPLE 1
Cannabis Flour: Cannabis Strain A
Cannabis Oil: Cannabis Strain B
Cannabis Kief: Cannabis Strain C
EXAMPLE 2
Cannabis Flour: Cannabis Strain B
Cannabis Oil: Cannabis Strain A
Cannabis Kief: Cannabis Strain C
EXAMPLE 3
Cannabis Flour: Cannabis Strain C
Cannabis Oil: Cannabis Strain A
Cannabis Kief: Cannabis Strain B
EXAMPLE 4
Cannabis Flour: Cannabis Strain C
Cannabis Oil: Cannabis Strain B
Cannabis Kief: Cannabis Strain A
As illustrated above, the process of the present invention allows a consistent rotation of alternating strains of cannabis which are all combined into a single composition wherein accurate dosing may be achieved. Alternatively, the cannabis oil, cannabis flour and the cannabis kief may all be derived from the same strain of cannabis and formed into the unique structure of the present invention using the process of the present invention as follows:
EXAMPLE 5
Cannabis Flour: Cannabis Strain A
Cannabis Oil: Cannabis Strain A
Cannabis Kief: Cannabis Strain A
It is to be understood that while a preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated, it is not to be limited to the specific form or arrangement of parts herein described and shown. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes may be made without departing from the scope of the invention and the invention is not to be considered limited to what is shown and described in the specification and drawings.
