- a porous, fluid-permeable sponge material which may be both natural and artificial.
- the materials commonly used in cosmetics such as e.g. Polyethylene, polypropylene and
- Polyurethane can be used as sponge materials.
- the porous region (s) of the first polyurethane foam can be used as sponge materials.
- Applicator body can have coarse and / or fine structures.
- the porosity can be both a fine porosity and a coarse porosity, which can be open or closed-cell form.
- the applicator or applicators consist of foam or at least comprise foam portions.
- the foam (or more generally the porous portion (s) of the applicator) is at least partially (and preferably in the Essentially complete) has an open-cell structure and is preferably formed of polyurethane.
- Polyurethanes of aliphatic isocyanates are particularly preferred, since aliphatic isocyanates lead to polyurethanes which do not discolor by the action of light or by heat, in contrast to polyurethanes of aromatic isocyanates.
- porous applicators consisting of or comprising polyurethane
- they can swell upon contact with glycols such as propylene glycol, butylene glycol, and pentylene glycol (see Figure 1 and Table 1) and lose their structure.
- glycols such as propylene glycol, butylene glycol, and pentylene glycol (see Figure 1 and Table 1)
- the PU sponge loses its elasticity over time.
- a multiple application of glycol-containing preparations is therefore not possible or at least only with restrictions via a porous polyurethane applicator.
- moisturizers for the purposes of the present invention are therefore in particular glycerol.
- the porous applicator consists wholly or partly of polyurethane.
- a sponge applicator was wetted with a cosmetic preparation and stored upright.
- the same formulation was provided with 5% glycerol, the sponge wetted and stored as well.
- the sponge After 4 weeks of storage the sponge is still wet in both formulations and thus suitable for use under the armpit. After two and three months, however, the sponge wet with the formulation without glycerin is dry and hard and the flock fibers are stiff and sticky. An application under the armpit would be very uncomfortable.
- the wetted sponge with the glycerin-containing formulation is soft, moist and the flock fibers are still supple even after three months of storage.
- this combination of formulation and sponge even after a long service life for the
- the outer surface of the applicator of the kit according to the invention is advantageously flocked.
- the fluid according to the invention forms a quasi protective film around the fibers of the porous one
- This protective film prevents deposits on the fibers and thus on the one hand the drying of preparation residues in the applicator as well as the deposition of skin residues and thus the nucleation.
- the protective film thus ensures optimal application of the fluid to the
- kit according to the invention or the fluid contained therein preferably contains no further nucleation in addition to the skin-moisturizing agents, in particular glycerol
- the kit according to the invention comprises a container having an opening at the bottom, a porous applicator mounted over the opening, and a cosmetic fluid in the container.
- the fluid wets the applicator due to its rheology, depending on the porosity of the porous portion of the applicator, but does not exit the applicator unless contact exists between the applicator and a surface to which the fluid is to be applied. This allows the use of a cosmetic kit for storing a cosmetic preparation with the container opening facing downwards, without the preparation emerging from the container.
- the container used according to the invention has at the bottom an opening which with a porous applicator, for example a
- the spongy material is secured against fluid leakage.
- the (preferably cosmetic) fluid although absorbed by the spongy material due to its rheological properties, is not released downwardly by the applicator due to gravity.
- the fluid preferably a cosmetic preparation
- it may be or include an emulsion, dispersion, gel or hydrogel.
- the fluid is preferably an emulsion, in particular an O / W emulsion.
- the preparation may also be advantageously in the form of a microemulsion whose optical characteristics
- Appearance can be in the translucent to transparent area.
- the applicator may be attached to the at least one opening of the container in any manner, such as by a rotary or snap connection, by gluing, sliding, etc., especially when the container is one
- connection may also be permanent, i. a release of the connection is possible only with destruction of the applicator and / or the container.
- it can be advantageous, in particular from a hygienic point of view, to attach the applicator to the container only shortly before the container is used.
- the porosity of a porous region of the applicator is defined in the present specification as the ratio of the volume of all voids of the porous region to the total volume of this porous region, based on the common definition of porosity. It is therefore a measure of how much space the actual porous body fills or within a certain volume due to its cells, grain or ventilation
- Cavities he leaves in this.
- the pores are usually filled with air and / or fluid.
- the porous applicator may be prepared according to methods known in the art. To produce a porous PU foam applicator, for example, the
- porous applicator preferably polyurethane sponge applicators are used, such as manufactured by the company Koschaum. These applicators consist of a synthetic foam body with a pore size of less than 0.1 mm and have about 130 pores per centimeter.
- the outer surface of the applicator is preferably flocked, such as with very fine nylon threads, which provide a pleasantly gentle skin contact
- Germination, hardening and / or adhesion can be prevented in the same way by the addition of skin moisturizer or low-volatility oils.
- the applicator has a thickness of more than 12 mm, preferably about 15 mm.
- Fluids preferred according to the invention in particular cosmetic compositions which may advantageously be present as O / W emulsions, have a yield point of at least about 0.1 Pa, preferably at least about 1 Pa, in particular at least about 3 Pa. As upper limits, yield points of not more than 10 Pa, especially not more than about 5 Pa, are particularly advantageous.
- the yield point or pour point is a designation for the smallest shear stress, above which a plastic substance behaves rheologically like a liquid (DIN 1342-1: 1983-10).
- the yield point is determined by taking a flow curve (based on DIN 53019: 1980-05, DIN 53214: 1982-02). The value obtained depends strongly on the time scale (load rate) on which the measurement is based. This is independent of whether the measurement is carried out with a shear-tension or speed-controlled viscometer. Short time scales (fast loads) usually give higher values for the yield stress. Too high a flow limit can be the cause of flow disturbances. On the other hand, with a suitably measured yield point, the tendency of the liquid formulation to drain can be suppressed.
- the measurement of the yield point for the purposes of the present invention can be carried out, for example, on a SR-2000 rheometer from Rheometric Scientific as follows:
- the temperature is kept constant with a Peltier element at 25 ° C, before the test, a recovery time of 5 minutes is awaited.
- a shear stress ramp of 40 Pa / min is selected over the range of 0 Pa to 800 Pa.
- the viscosity is plotted logarithmically over the linear shear stress and the viscosity maximum, ie the critical shear stress, is specified with the associated maximum viscosity. Formulations without yield point have no maximum.
- the advantage of the yield-limited preparation according to the invention is that the flow limit prevents leakage from the applicator since the formulation is not flowable without shear.
- the porosity of the applicator according to the invention would have to be adapted.
- there is a certain applicator with a given porosity so that the yield strength of the preparation is normally adjusted to the porosity of the applicator. It is thus possible, inter alia, to produce cosmetic products with individual product properties, e.g. a face care product that can be applied to the skin with a low yield point from a low porosity applicator, simply upside down or perpendicular to the skin.
- the fluid used according to the invention can have a wide variety of applications.
- the fluid to be applied is preferably an O / W emulsion.
- the fluid is a cosmetic preparation and in particular an antiperspirant and / or deodorant.
- the kit is preferably also used in facial care, in which an individual posture, application direction and angle of the applicator is desired and possible according to the invention.
- the fluid preferably has a viscosity of 150 mPas, measured at 25 ° C. with Rheomat R 123 from proRheo, measuring body 3.
- the fluid comprises one or more antiperspirant and / or deodorant active ingredients, preferably antiperspirant active ingredients (AT-actives).
- antiperspirant active ingredients AT-actives
- Antiperspirants or deodorants are used to eliminate body odor that occurs when the odorless fresh sweat is decomposed by microorganisms.
- the usual cosmetic deodorants are based on different active principles.
- deodorant In common usage, there is not always a clear distinction between the terms “deodorant” and “antiperspirant”. Rather, especially in German-speaking countries, products for use in the armpit area are referred to as deodorants or “deodorants”, irrespective of the question of whether an antiperspirant effect is also present.
- Antiperspirants are antiperspirants that, in contrast to the deodorants which generally prevent microbial decomposition of already formed perspiration, are said to prevent the secretion of sweat at all.
- the desired minimization of sweat secretion can be realized by various mechanisms. This traditionally includes the use of astringents, which cause protein precipitation and coagulation and thus cause a narrowing or closure of the sweat gland.
- Novel AT-effecters are based, for example, on the principle of anticholinergics, which interrupt the nerve stimuli, which lead to the secretion increase of the sweat glands.
- antiperspirant active substances according to the invention include those substances which have an influence on perspiration secretion.
- Underarm odor odor-improving agent.
- Common mechanisms of action for this are antibacterial effects, as they show the non-colloidal silver, odor neutralization (masking), influencing bacterial metabolisms, the pure perfuming as well as the use of precursors of certain perfume components, which by enzymatic
- preparations may additionally contain substances which inhibit the microbial degradation of the perspiration, such as e.g. Triclosan.
- Triclosan has an effect against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as against fungi and yeasts, which results in a deodorizing, but no antiperspirant effect, as no influence on the sweat secretion can be deduced from the influence on the bacterial skin flora.
- antiperspirants based on aluminum salts it may be possible to dispense with the further addition of substances having a purely deodorizing action, since these have per se an antimicrobial potential.
- the reduced supply of water due to the reduced sweat secretion also inhibits bacterial growth.
- Antiperspirant active ingredients in the context of the present application are in particular to be selected from the following groups.
- antiperspirant active ingredients are used in particular astringents, especially aluminum compounds.
- astringents especially aluminum compounds.
- the previously used, strongly acidic salts aluminum sulfate or chloride and the agaric acid have been largely replaced by aluminum hydroxychloride and - alcoholates.
- the following list of advantageously used antiperspirant active agents should in no way be restrictive:
- Aluminum salts such as aluminum chloride AICI3, aluminum sulfate AI2 (S04) 3
- AT salt suspensions or gels in which aluminum salts present in powder form are dispersed in various oils.
- an antimicrobial silver citrate complex as described in DE 202008014407, preferably be used as a cosmetically active ingredient in the cosmetic preparations.
- antiperspirant active ingredients from the previously described groups are in the
- inventive formulations are preferably used in an amount of 1 to 30 wt.%, Based on the total mass of the preparation, more preferably are proportions of 5 to 15 wt.%.

Vicinal diols and similar active substances from the group of osmotically active substances can also be added to the preparations according to the invention as AT active agents.
- the porous applicator entirely or partially consists of a polyether polyurethane which is prepared from isocyanate which contains no aromatic rings and thus remains stable to UV light, e.g. Bulfast TO 45 S from Fa. Recticel.
