- the control unit 13 When the control unit 13 displays the line-of-sight guidance objects 102a to 102c on the virtual image display unit 2, the control unit 13 instructs the virtual image positions to be aligned in a straight line toward the attention object 90. By doing so, it appears to the driver that the figure of the arrow that is the line-of-sight guiding object is moving from the front toward the attention object 90 (falling object) as shown in FIG. The driver's line of sight is effectively guided to the attention object 90 by the movement of the line-of-sight guiding object. As a result, it is possible to alert the driver to the attention object.
- FIG. 8 the movement of the line-of-sight guidance object (arrow figure) has been described with reference to three drawings. However, in this specification, the movement is represented by one drawing as shown in FIG. To express. Circled numbers and distance values attached to each line-of-sight guidance object represent the order in which the line-of-sight guidance objects are displayed and the virtual image distance. Further, the movement of the line-of-sight guiding object is represented by a two-dimensional diagram such as part (b) of FIG. 9, and the change in virtual image distance with time is represented by a figure such as part (c) of FIG. Sometimes. Each of the parts (a) to (c) in FIG. 9 represents the movement of the line-of-sight guiding object in FIG.
- FIGS. 8 and 9 show examples in which the images of the line-of-sight guiding object are all the same arrow figures, but the image of the line-of-sight guiding object may change with time (during the movement of the line-of-sight guiding object).
- FIGS. 10A and 10B as the line-of-sight guiding object moves toward the attention object 90, the image of the line-of-sight guiding object is changed from the image at the root of the arrow to the tip of the arrow. You may make it change to the image of.
- FIGS. 11A and 11B a part of an arrow image processed so as to become thinner toward the tip may be used as the line-of-sight guidance object.
- the line-of-sight guiding object is not limited to an arrow and may be an arbitrary image.
- FIG. 12 shows an example in which an image of a human finger is used as a gaze guidance object.
- the display start position of the line-of-sight guiding object (starting point of movement of the line-of-sight guiding object) may be arbitrary.
- the line-of-sight guidance object may be moved from left to right by setting the display start position of the line-of-sight guidance object to the left of the position of the attention target 90.
- the angle of the movement direction of the line-of-sight guidance object (the angle with respect to the horizontal direction) may be changed according to the distance from the subject vehicle to the attention object 90.
- the angle of the movement direction of the line-of-sight guidance object is larger when the attention object 90 is near as shown in FIG. 14 than when the attention object 90 is far away from the host vehicle as shown in FIG. It is conceivable that (the display start position is brought close to the attention object 90).
- the degree of urgency of the attention object 90 can be expressed by the angle in the movement direction of the line-of-sight guidance object.

- the start point and the end point of the movement of the line-of-sight guidance object may be determined so as to be the end portion of the displayable area 210. Accordingly, the driver's line of sight can be guided to the attention object 90 outside the displayable area 210.
- the virtual image display unit 2 can change the virtual image distance in four or more types or continuously, as shown in (a) and (b) of FIG. It can be moved more smoothly, and the visibility of the line-of-sight guiding object is improved.
- a continuous virtual image distance change and a discontinuous (stepwise) virtual image distance change.
- the virtual image distance of the line-of-sight guiding object continuously changes
- the line of sight is 55 m, 60 m, 70 m, and 75 m.
- the virtual image distance of the guiding object may change discontinuously.
- the distance accuracy and the recognition accuracy of the change decrease with increasing distance, so the change speed of the virtual image distance may increase as the virtual image distance of the line-of-sight guiding object increases.
- the change amount of the virtual image distance may be increased as the virtual image distance is increased.
- the virtual image distance of the gaze guidance object changes in 1 m increments
- the virtual image distance of the gaze guidance object changes in increments of 2 m
- the virtual image distance of the line-of-sight guiding object may be changed every 5 m.
- the method of changing the virtual image distance of the line-of-sight guiding object is not limited to the above example, and may change linearly or nonlinearly, for example. From the human sense, logarithmic changes are preferable. Also, whether the virtual image distance changes continuously or discontinuously, the rate of change of the virtual image distance may be constant or may increase as the virtual image distance increases.
- the relative position acquisition unit 11 and the control unit 13 in the display control device 1 are realized by, for example, a processing circuit 40 illustrated in FIG. That is, when displaying the relative position acquisition unit 11 that acquires the relative position of the attention target with respect to the subject vehicle and the gaze guidance object, the processing circuit 40 views the driver based on the relative position between the subject vehicle and the attention subject. And a control unit 13 that changes the virtual image direction and the virtual image distance of the line-of-sight guidance object with time so that the line-of-sight guidance object appears to move toward the position of the attention object.

- a position (display start position) where the line-of-sight guiding object is first displayed is a point A (Xa, Ya).
- point B is located on a straight line connecting point A and point D.
- the correction of the point B is a process of converting a point B deviating from a straight line connecting the point A and the point D due to a change in the position of the host vehicle S into a point B1 located on the straight line.
- the position of the vehicle position S at time T is coordinates (0, V ⁇ T).
- the display control device 1 displays the line-of-sight guidance object at the corrected point B1 defined by the above equations (1) and (2). Then, the line-of-sight guiding object appears to move from the point A toward the attention object 90 when viewed from the traveling vehicle S.
- the virtual image position of the line-of-sight guidance object is corrected in consideration of the change in the position of the host vehicle, so the direction of movement of the line-of-sight guidance object is careful even when the host vehicle is traveling. It is possible to prevent deviation from the direction toward the target. Thus, the driver's line of sight can be more reliably guided to the attention object.
- the direction of the target object viewed from the host vehicle changes greatly when the position of the host vehicle changes. If this is done, the correction amount becomes very large, and it may be difficult to understand what the line-of-sight guiding object is pointing to.
- the virtual image distance is constant without performing position correction.
- a line-of-sight guidance object may be displayed.
- the virtual image distance of the line-of-sight guidance object does not change according to the relative position of the attention object 90, and therefore the movement direction of the line-of-sight guidance object indicates the exact position of the attention object 90.
- the image (for example, color or shape) of the line-of-sight guiding object may be changed depending on whether correction is performed or not.
- FIG. 28 is a block diagram illustrating a configuration of the display control apparatus 1 according to the fourth embodiment.

- the light projecting unit 4 installed outside the host vehicle directly irradiates the attention object 90 with light as shown in FIG.
- the light projecting unit 4 installed in the vehicle of the host vehicle irradiates light on a position on the windshield 201 where the attention object 90 can be seen from the driver.
- the area 220 where the light projecting unit 4 can irradiate the windshield 201 is wider than the displayable area 210 of the line-of-sight guidance object.
- the position of the attention object 90 is indicated to the driver by the light emitted from the light projecting unit 4 as an auxiliary.
- the driver's line of sight can be more reliably guided to the attention object.

Abstract
