Description

Title of the Invention
Illusion solitaire Field of the Invention
The present invention generally relates to a setting for jewelry, and more particularly it relates to a setting for multiple gemstones.
Background of the Invention
Jewelry includes precious and semi-precious gemstones which may be expensive. Generally the size of the gemstone is one of the important cost determining factors. Considering this, to give value for money so many inventors fashioned various ways. One of the ways is to develop a gemstone setting system and method through which particular gemstone assembly will give the impression of being as a single large gemstone, a solitaire. This final appearance of the gemstone is actually an illusion.
Typically, the gemstones are fitted together to make a round design that simulates a single larger round-cut stone. For instance, Patent No. US 6,519,972 Bl by inventor Siebenberg B. N. discloses the invention about the appearance of a large oval stone from several smaller stones, preferably four, smaller triangular-shaped stones. The side facets of the smaller stones are cut so as to meet at a point with no gaps between the smaller stones. Patent No. US20080163647, arrangement for article of jewelry, by Rosen R. C, discloses a jewelry arrangement having a mounting, a main gemstone positioned in the mounting, and a plurality of secondary gemstones positioned in the mounting underneath the main gemstone. Each side can have a plurality of facets and at least one facet can be positioned entirely above another facet. Patent No. US 20140102140 A, Multi-gemstone mounting that creates illusion of a single large gemstone by Eric Nhaissi suggests a gemstone setting for magnifying and enhancing the appearance of a multiplicity of gemstones set therein, creating the illusion of a single, very large gem. The gemstone setting comprises inner and outer rings, the inner ring having a portion that fits inside the outer ring. The inner ring holds a central large gemstone surrounded by a plurality of smaller gemstones arranged to magnify the appearance of the central large gemstone. Patent No. EP1689261 Bl, Invisible setting of precious stones, by Raphael Cohen discloses jewellery consisting of a central stone and a number of peripheral stones fitted on a support comprising a first ring concentric and integral with a second ring of smaller diameter and greater height than the first ring. Patent No. US6389846 B, Prong setting for multiple gemstones by Siebenberg B. N presents a unitary prong setting for multiple gemstories and a multiple gemstone combination are provided. US 8393174 B2 titled, Jewelry setting, by Simon Ghanimian, provides a stone assembly, comprising a setting that includes a plurality of ribs with beveled sides that divide the setting into a plurality of contiguous compartments. Thus it was a long felt need and it can be observed that inventors were trying to develop the process by which solitaire can be developed but they were not successful to develop the solitaire in various shapes.
Summary of the Invention
The following presents a simplified summary of one or more embodiments in order to provide a basic understanding of such embodiments. This summary is not an extensive overview of all contemplated embodiments, and is intended to neither identify key or critical elements of all embodiments nor delineate the scope of any or all embodiments. Its sole purpose is to present some concepts of one or more embodiments in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later. Inventor discloses system and method to manufacture illusion solitaire gemstone assembly from 0.10 to 20.00 carat look depending upon various shapes comprising emerald, asscher, heart, round, oval, cushion, princess, pear, marquise, star. These shapes are generally made from minimum 2 to 20 gemstones. Here to manufacture the illusion solitaire there is use of loose gemstones which is generally the wastage during jewelry making or like activity. The present invention is thus particularly directed to a jewelry making where illusion look of the gemstone is created by using invisible setting to fit the small pieces of the gemstone. The illusion jewelry is generally nearly 80% cheaper than single solitaire jewelry especially in case of precious gemstones. Thus the main objective of the invention is to provide a method and system which will be easy and can develop various shapes of gemstones especially diamond using wasted/by-products of main activity and is having solitaire appearance along with affordability attribute. Additionally, it is intended that such equivalents include both currently known equivalents as well as equivalents developed in the future, i.e., any elements developed that perform the same function, regardless of structure. Description will now be given of the preferred embodiments with reference to FIGS. 1— 10. The figures are only illustrative and do not constitute limitations on the scope of the invention, which is defined by the claims attached hereto.
As shown in FIG 1A, to make solitaire look of 1.00 carat size of emerald shape diamond there is requirement of total 9 diamonds of around 0.31 carat weight. The average weight of each diamond comes around 0.035. In this assembly of 9 diamonds 0.02 carats to 0.08 carat of diamonds used. There is requirement of special skill in cutting a very small sized diamond that is as small as 0.02 carat diamond with such perfection so that it can match with other diamonds. This is the most critical skill in this manufacturing of the solitaire diamond and is very difficult job. Along with perfection in cutting there is a need to match color and clarity of all 9 diamonds so that it will look like one solitaire diamond. From these 9 diamonds 8 diamonds are with 4 corners so total there are 32 corners in 1.00 carat look of one 'illusion' diamond of which cutting is very skillful job and much care is required while the cutting. Here the illustrative example is given of one 'emerald shaped illusion diamond'. Example 1
Diamond no.1 , (101) 0.07 carat, diameter 3.60 mm length * center diamond 1.82 mm width
Diamond no.2, (102) 0.02 carat, diameter 1.83 mm length * left top corner diamond 1.53 mm width
Diamond no.3, (103) 0.02 carat, diameter 1. 1 mm length * center top diamond 2.13 mm width
Diamond no.4, (104) 0.02 carat, diameter 1.76 mm length * right top corner diamond 1.48 mm width
Diamond no.5, (105) 0.08 carat, diameter 4.06 mm length * right side diamond 1.51 mm width
Diamond no.6, (106) 0.02 carat, diameter 1.81 mm length * right bottom corner diamond 1.46 mm width
Diamond no.7, (107) 0.02 carat, diameter 1.49 mm length * center bottom diamond 2.06 mm width
Diamond no.8, (108) 0.02 carat, diameter 1.83 mm length * left bottom corner diamond 1.50 mm width
Diamond no.9, (109) 0.04 carat, diameter 4.15 mm length* left side diamond 1.53 mm width
The above stated example of illusion diamond emerald shape will have total weight of about 0.31 carat and diameter 6.60 mm length x 4.86 mm width. FIG IB is a pictorial presentation of the illusion emerald shape loose gemstone image. The second part is setting of all 9 diamonds together with "exclusive invisible setting" by which it look like one solitaire diamond. There are highest chances of these diamonds getting broken in this process. This is because in this stage these diamonds processing involves many processes including heat treatment of it. This is the most difficult part of the whole process. Here the skill is in fitting the small diamond with less percentage of breaking of diamonds. Along with technical directions training of workers is one of the factors which can reduce the damage due to breaking. Cutting of crown part of the diamond and matching it with the adjacent loose diamond is another crucial step in this process. In the direction of making the solitaire emerald shape from 9 diamonds there is necessity to match each and every corner and table of stones by which there will be no gap between any of these diamonds. That's how one illusion colet is created from 9 loose diamonds. FIG 1C is a pictorial presentation of illusion gemstone emerald shape colet image in prong setting.
The third phase in this process is the easiest of all 3 phases where the 'illusion' colet is fixed in some of the jewelry design by which it will be ready to sale. FIG ID is a pictorial presentation of illusion diamond emerald shape jewelry image. The illusion diamond emerald shape costs very less than the traditionally available emerald shape diamond. Here are the illustrative details of cost comparison of the solitaire and illusion emerald shape diamond. size / look Col / clarity Value of value of Cost percent difference solitaire illusion between illusion diamond diamond diamond and solitaire

As shown in FIG 2A to make solitaire look of 1.00 carat size of asscher shape diamond there is requirement of total 9 diamonds of around 0.32 carat weight. The average weight of each diamond comes around 0.035 In this assembly of 9 diamonds 0.02 carats to 0.08 carat diamonds are used. There is requirement of special skill in cutting a very small sized diamond that is as small as 0.02 carat diamond with such perfection so that it can mate h with other diamonds. This is the most critical skill in this manufacturing of the solitaire diamond and is very difficult job. Along with perfection in cutting there is needed to match color and clarity of all 9 diamonds so that it will look like one solitaire diamond.
From these 9 diamonds 8 diamonds are with 4 corners so total there are 32 corners in 1.00 carat look of one 'illusion' diamond of which cutting is very skillful job and much care is required while the cutting. Here the illustrative example is given of one 'asscher' shaped illusion diamond.

The above stated example of illusion diamond asscher shape will have total weight of about 0.32 carat and diameter 5.70 mm length x 5.70mm width. FIG 2B is a pictorial presentation of the illusion asscher shape loose gemstone image. The second part is setting of all 9 diamonds together with "exclusive invisible setting" by which it look like one solitaire diamond. There are highest chances of these diamonds getting broken in this process. This is because in this stage these diamonds processing involves many process including heat treatment of it. FIG 2C is a pictorial presentation of illusion gemstone asscher shape colet image in prong setting.
The third phase in this process is the easiest of all 3 phases where the 'illusion' colet is fixed in some of the jewelry design by which it will be ready to sale. FIG 2D is a pictorial presentation of illusion diamond asscher shape jewelry image. The illusion diamond asscher shape costs very less than the traditionally available emerald shape diamond.
