Abstract
A cigarette with cytisine according to invention is characterised in that it contains organic substances other than tobacco in the amount from 0.0001% to 100% of the air moisture free mass of the cigarette and a dose of cytisine in the amount from 0.000000001 milligram to 10 milligrams.
Description
"A cigarette with cytisine"
The subject of the invention is a cigarette with cytisine, a product of the tobacco industry made of processed material of organic origin, not containing tobacco, with an addition of the organic chemical compound with formula Q jHi4N20 commonly known as cytisine.
In the current state of the art, the tobacco industiy manufactures numerous variations of cigarettes used for smoking and inhaling, containing processed plants of tobacco species called commonly the tobacco. Cigarettes manufactured nowadays have a characteristic form of a tube, made usually of a thin cigarette paper, containing ingredients decisive for its properties producing specific effect on central nervous system of the smoking person, the most important of the ingredients being tobacco.
Tobacco contains nicotine, among other things. In the course of cigarette smoking, nicotine contained in smoke generated in the tobacco combustion process gets into blood and produces its effect on organism of the smoking person. Nicotine has strong addictive properties and is a potent toxin. Apart from nicotine, tobacco smoke contains other harmful and carcinogenic chemical compounds. It is advisable to reduce content of these substances.
Known are also e-cigarettes made of plastics, house cartridges with a dose of nicotine released by a mechanism mounted inside a device imitating functional features of traditional cigarettes. E-cigarettes neither contain any combustible plant material nor generate any cigarette smoke; however, they contain nicotine as well as aromatic substances. Manufactured are also cigarettes not containing tobacco but herbs, tea, or leafs of other plants. Such cigarettes are very seldom a choice of smokers due to absence of nicotine content.
In order to reduce the negative effects produced by tobacco on the organism of a smoker it is desirable to develop effective products that could be used as diet supplement for the purpose of the nicotine substitution therapy or other tobacco industry products with low toxicity. Currently, cytisine is administered in small doses in the form of tablets, as a nicotine substitute in mitigation of nicotine cravings in the course of therapies aimed at reduction of negative effects of nicotinism.
Cytisine demonstrates effects similar to those produced by nicotine, has a stimulating effect on autonomic nervous system, mainly the respiratory centre. It stimulates also the vasomotor centre, increases secretion of adrenaline, and results in an increase of blood pressure.
At present, any solutions consisting in enriching organic substances with cytisine according to the method characterising the invention "A cigarette with cytisine" are not known.
The objective of the invention "A cigarette with cytisine" is to provide cigarettes without tobacco, imitating features characteristic for cigarettes containing tobacco but containing other organic additives and cytisine in the dose from 0.000000001 mg to 10 mg.
This problem has been solved by combining substances of organic origin in the amount from 0.0001% to 100% of the air moisture free mass of the cigarette and a dose of cytisine in the amount from 0.000000001 mg to 10 mg in such a way that the added cytisine increases said mass and changes its properties, as a result of which a cigarette is obtained characterised in that it contains organic substances other than tobacco in the amount from 0.0001%» to 100% of the air moisture free mass of the cigarette and a dose of cytisine in the amount from 0.000000001 mg to 10 mg.
In the technological process of manufacturing cigarettes according to the invention, cytisine is placed within the mass of cigarette: in its paper tube, filter, combustible cartridge or conglomerate placed in the paper tube containing also a processed material of organic origin, however not containing tobacco leaves. This way, cigarettes are obtained made of processed organic substances other than tobacco, containing cytisine and with a number of traditional features of cigarettes maintained. A distinctive quality of the solution with respect to other known solutions is combination of a given quantity of cytisine with structural components of cigarette in a single product with features and appearance of a cigarette in such a way that, unlike traditional cigarettes, it does not contain tobacco, containing instead a measured dose of cytisine. Intermediate products in the manufacturing process are: an organic material not containing tobacco processed according to any formula used by tobacco industry manufacturers and cytisine of organic origin and/or prepared synthetically, as a result of genetic modification, or through a combination of these processes.
An embodiment of the solution according to the invention is described in the following as an example process of producing a single cigarette with cytisine:
In a cigarette formed according to design solutions known and used in the tobacco industry, and more precisely, in its paper envelope in the form of a tube or other geometrical form tipped with a filter or not, or in the filter playing the role of mouthpiece, or in the organic combustible mass contained in the cigarette paper tube, or in any other portion of cigarette and in any number of its elements and components, the chemical compound known as cytisine is placed in any amount, however not exceeding in total the dose according to the
formula characterising the invention and defined as 10 milligrams per cigarette. The method of application of cytisine according to the invention:
Cytisine is placed— at the same time in each structural component of cigarette or separately in any stractural components thereof such as filter, mouthpiece and/or combustible portion of cigarette constituting the cigarette paper tube or its content— as a granulate, powder, emulsion, suspension, solution, deposit, material, conglomerate and/or mixture of intermediate products in arbitrary proportions, by means of direct application in the course of combustion of the cigarette and/or in the course of the stage of manufacturing the cigarette and/or intem ediate products used in the tobacco industry by means of admixing, saturating, gassing and/or adding by any combination of such processes a measured dose of a substance containing in its composition a measured dose of cytisine and/or pure cytisine and/or other substances processed in the course of the manufacturing process or before it, as a result of chemical reactions, physical processes, genetic modifications, or any combination thereof.
Placing cytisine in a cigarette can be accomplished in the process of manufacturing cigarette filters, cigarette paper tubes, or organic material contained in rolling paper, filters, or other cigarette components and inserts which, after application of cytisine thereto, are subject to seasoning and manufacturing processes specific to forming cigarettes and/or intermediate products thereof.
Cytisine can be also placed in a finished cigarette made of organic mass not containing tobacco in the course of last stage of the cigarette manufacturing process, and even after forming the cigarette as the finished product. In such case, a cigarette is subject to processing described above aimed at enriching it with a measured dose of cytisine, and then seasoned.
Cigarettes manufactured according to the invented method and used to generate and inhale smoke share a number of organoleptic qualities with traditional cigarettes containing tobacco leafs, such as giving off a smoke, smouldering, producing heat, producing a characteristic taste and aroma composition, and, additionally, allow to release cytisine of organic origin or obtained synthetically to be released in the process of combustion of substances of organic origin. Like in a traditional tobacco-containing cigarette, in the course of combustion of the processed material of organic origin enriched with cytisine, a dose of cytisine ranging from 0.000000001 milligrams to 10 milligrams contained in the smoke is released from organic substances, gets into blood, and produces its effect on organism of the smoking person.
