Description

DESCRIPCIÓN  DESCRIPTION

Titulo. Separador modular de carriles para bicicletas. Objeto de la invención. Title. Modular bicycle lane separator. Object of the invention.

The object of this invention is a modular bicycle lane separator, suitable for separating a bicycle lane from a vehicle lane, in order to protect cyclists.

Field of application of the invention. This invention is applicable in the field dedicated to the manufacture of road safety elements, specifically in this case for the separation of bicycle lanes.

Estado de la técnica. State of the art

Currently, and mainly at the urban level, the number of lanes destined for the circulation of bicycles is increasing, these rails being usually located on roads destined for the circulation of vehicles. These bicycle lanes are usually delimited by stripes painted on the ground, which is totally insufficient from a safety point of view, since vehicle drivers can invade the bicycle lanes completely unintentionally with the consequent risk to Cyclists

Due to this problem, different separating elements were designed to be fixed to the ground, either screwed or recessed, establishing a physical separation between the vehicle traffic lanes and the bicycle lanes. Some examples of this type of circulation lane separators for vehicles and bicycles are described in utility models U 201230280 and U 201231248. In both antecedents the modular separator is constituted by a cast iron body of semi-cylindrical configuration or semi-cylindrical trunk , intended to anchor to the ground; said separators presenting the disadvantage that they have surfaces with the same characteristics on the sides oriented towards the bicycle lane and towards the vehicle lane. This determines that the aforementioned separators can be effective when a vehicle is ready to invade a bicycle lane, however they are also especially dangerous for cyclists in case of accidental impact with said separators. Also known are bicycle lane separators, consisting of a series of equal pieces, of rubber or plastic, which are fixed to the ground by screwing; said pieces having a support plane on the ground and two vertical side surfaces or with the same inclination, intended to be oriented indistinctly one of them towards the vehicle lane and the other towards the bicycle lane. Therefore, these dividers, like those mentioned above, have the same characteristics on the opposite sides, forming a suitable obstacle for vehicles, but dangerous for bicycle lane users. The applicant of the present invention is unaware of the existence of a background to effectively resolve these problems.

Description of the invention The modular bicycle lane separator object of this invention has constructive particularities oriented to solve the problem set forth above, comprising a plurality of parts that allow a modular, continuous or discontinuous separator to be formed, with a geometry differentiated by the sides facing the rail for bicycles and the vehicle lane, with in order to minimize the risk of accident for cyclists and to create more defined means of separation for vehicles.

Another object of the invention is to form the modular separator parts in a non-metallic material, preferably vulcanized rubber, which can minimize damage to cyclists in the event of an impact and that includes recycled materials in its composition, reducing manufacturing costs and providing environmental advantages. To achieve the proposed objectives, this modular separator comprises first pieces for the conformation of single-piece modules, and some extreme pieces and intermediate pieces for the conformation of multi-piece modules of variable length, which allows to form a modular separator with continuous sections or with sections discontinuous leaving between consecutive modules some holes for rainwater runoff.

All of the mentioned pieces are made of vulcanized rubber and have a triangular, hollow and closed prismatic configuration at opposite ends.

These pieces include: a first open face, forming a support base on the ground; a second face and a third face that converge in a rounded upper edge and that form angles of different amplitude with the open face of the base.

The second side of the parts, oriented towards the vehicle traffic lane, has a pronounced inclination; while the third face, oriented towards the bicycle lane, has a small inclination, thus achieving that the separator conforms on the side corresponding to the vehicle lane a curb, and on the opposite side, oriented towards the bicycle lane, a soft ramp .

All of the separator forming parts have internally reinforcing ribs and passages for mounting anchors threads responsible for fixing to the floor.

These and other specific characteristics of the different constituent parts of the separator, set forth in the claims, will be more easily understood in view of the exemplary embodiment shown in the attached figures.
