Abstract
The invention relates to a power plant (200) for using the thermal energy contained in steam, said plant comprising an electric generator (201) driven by a first steam turbine (207) and a heat exchanger (215) that has a fluidic connection to a steam outlet side (227) of the first steam turbine (207) for taking up exhaust steam and for making available heating energy. The power plant (200) has a second steam turbine (212) which can be coupled to and decoupled from a shaft (204, 206) that is driven by the first steam turbine (201), in order to mechanically impinge the electric generator (201) and which has a fluidic connection on the outlet side to the heat exchanger (215). The heat exchanger is designed to provide hot water.
