Abstract

The invention comprises a hollow cylindrical body that is open at both ends and an axially movable plunger. A removable, disposable cannula, with an end hole for the passage of mucus, on account of rearward movement of the plunger, is pressure‑coupled to the open front end. Inside said cannula is a block of foam, whilst, after a diametral partition inside the syringe body, there is a leaktight seal located in a cylindrical portion or neck belonging to the actual plunger, which portion lies between the end head of the plunger, with a rhombic configuration with strongly rounded vertices, and a frustoconical portion as front part of the actual plunger, this frustoconical portion being provided with grooves for the passage and evaporation of the air during forward movement of the plunger. The cannula has a frustoconical front portion and a suitable configuration for fitting inside the nostril, having, internally, ribs that act as maximum travel stops, and externally there is an annular stop projection. The seal has a lower leaktight adjustment lip and can be moved forward and rearward by being entrained by the plunger. The rear end of the syringe body has an internal ring as stop for limiting maximum extraction of the plunger in the rearward movement thereof.

Description

JERINGA DE ASPIRACIÓN NASAL Objeto de la invención  NASAL ASPIRATION SYRINGE Object of the invention

The present invention relates to a nasal aspiration syringe, specifically intended to extract the mucus of babies, without the need for direct contact between the baby and the person who performs the extraction of the mucus.

The object of the invention is to carry out a controlled extraction of the mucus of the babies, as well as to avoid aggressive efforts that could damage the baby itself and even prevent microbes from being transferred directly, since there is no direct contact between the person who performs the mucus and baby extraction.

Antecedentes de la invención Background of the invention

As is known, the operation of carrying out the extraction of mucus in babies is a difficult task, so that regardless of the means used to perform the extraction, there is always a direct contact between the baby and the person who performs the operation, being able to damage the baby itself as a result of which this normally moves before the element that is introduced in his nose to extract the mucus.

On the other hand, the extraction of mucus as it is currently performed is not much less effective, nor of course controlled.

In addition, due to direct contact between the person performing the extraction and the baby, there is the possibility of transferring microbes directly.

Finally, comment also on the fact that at no time can one verify even the amount of mucus extracted.

Descripción de la invención Description of the invention

The nasal aspiration syringe that has been recommended has been conceived to solve the problem described above, based on a simple but highly effective solution. More specifically, the syringe of the invention, being constituted from a hollow body and an internal and movable piston, has the peculiarity that a cannula is fitted on the front end of the body and tightly fitted with a conical end section , with a configuration that can be introduced into the baby's nose without damage to the baby, a cannula that has a hole at the end of the mucus that is intended to be removed from the baby's nose.

Inside such a cannula, a foam block is fitted tightly, which is retained against longitudinal stops established for this purpose inside the cannula, stops that are materialized by ribs provided in the direction of the generatrix.

Said cannula externally has an annular projection as a stop for maximum penetration thereof inside the syringe body.

For its part, the piston has a head with a rhombic profile but with very rounded vertices, so that that rhombic head has a determinant posterior extension of a cylindrical neck that joins a trunk-conical section corresponding to the anterior part of the plunger itself , and whose trunk-conical section is affected by slots for the passage of air through the piston itself, during the operation of introducing it axially over the body of the syringe.

On the cylindrical neck established between the rhombic head of the plunger and the trunk-conical section thereof, a gasket with a perimetral adjustment lip is mounted on the inner surface of the syringe body, and whose gasket has a maximum penetration stop in the body of the syringe when it presents an internal circumferential wall through which it is possible to pass the head of the plunger but not the seal.

In accordance with these structural characteristics, the suctioning will be carried out by fractioning backwards of the plunger, carrying out the extraction of the mucus of the baby, establishing the vacuum by the hermetic adjustment made by the joint on the lateral surface of the body of the syringe, also allowing, once the piston is retracted, to return to the operative position by forward movement thereof, so that the air, as already said, will leave through the openings or grooves of the trunk-conical section of such plunger . The backward movement of the piston with respect to the syringe body is limited by an internal annular ring corresponding to the most posterior section of the syringe body.

In this way it is possible to extract the mucus of the babies in a controlled way and avoid aggressive efforts that can harm the baby.

In addition, there will be no contact at any time between the baby and the person who performs the extraction, because the only thing that needs to be done is to introduce the cannula into the baby's nose and carry out the suctioning and corresponding extraction of the mucus, so that in the absence of direct contact, there will be no risk of transfer of microbes directly.

As for the characteristics of the materials in which the aforementioned components are constituted, say that the cannula will preferably be transparent in color and in a suitable material, such as PP randon with thermoplastic elastomer mixture.

For its part, the foam block, which will act as a stop to prevent the extracted mucus from penetrating the cannula, will be made of polyester, preferably in white, just like the plunger, while the body of the syringe will be translucent and of a material similar to the cannula, without discarding any other appropriate type.

Realización preferente de la invención Preferred Embodiment of the Invention

As can be seen in the aforementioned figures, the syringe of the invention comprises a hollow body (1), a cannula (2) and a plunger (3), as main components, and which are complemented by a foam block (4) and a board (5) whose functionality will be exposed later.

The body (1) will preferably be translucent and internally and inferiorly presenting a ring (6) as a stop element for maximum extraction of the piston itself (3), while in proximity to the front end said body (1) of the syringe includes a wall or diametral partition (7) as a nerve that acts as a stop that limits the forward movement of the joint (5), having at its base an annular nerve (8) for tight fit on the wall or internal surface of the own wall of the body (1) of the syringe.

On the other hand, the foam block (4) is arranged inside the cannula (2) and is retained as a consequence of longitudinal ribs (9) provided on the inner face of the cannula itself (2), preventing said foam block (4) can move towards the end (10) where the corresponding orifice of the cannula itself (2) is established, preferably presenting a conical configuration at said end for adaptation to the baby's nostril in which apply Such cannula (2) also has an annular and external projection (11) as a limit stop for maximum penetration on the body (1) of the syringe, since such cannula (2) is coupled on such a body of the pressure syringe , on the open and upper end, ie front, of said body (1).

The function of the foam block (4) is to retain the mucus removed and not pass to the rest of the components, constituting a disposable element, so that once used it must be replaced by a new one, maintaining the body of the syringe with its plunger (3) and the seal itself (5), which can be washed with water as is traditional.

The seal (5), with its lip (8) is intended to produce the seal in the movements of the piston (3), to carry out the correct suction.

Finally, say that the piston (3) includes a head (12) with a rhombic configuration but with sharply rounded vertices, whose head joins the body of the plunger (3) through a cylindrical neck (13), and whose union it is carried out on a trunk-conical section (14) that is part of the front end of the plunger itself (3), as clearly seen in Figure 3, so that in correspondence with that trunk-conical section (14) They have provided grooves (15) for the exit of the air to the outside.

The operation in the suction operation and corresponding extraction of the mucus, is as follows:

Placing the plunger in a forward movement on the body (1) of the syringe, and after the introduction of the cannula (2) into the baby's nostril, fractionation and backward movement of said plunger (3) will be carried out. ), so that through its rhombic head (12) it drags the joint (5), producing the tightness with this joint (5) and corresponding suction of the mucus.

Once the maximum backward movement of the piston (3) with respect to the piston (1) of the syringe has been reached, a forward movement can be carried out again to carry out a second mucus extraction operation, without need to remove the cannula (2) from the nostril. Once the initial position of the piston (3) has been reached, the tip (5) will log on the one hand with the inner annular wall or partition (7) and will establish the seal through its lip (8) against the internal surface of the body (1) of the syringe, allowing the air to be dislodged through the grooves (15) provided in the trunk-conical section (14) of the front part of the plunger itself (3), so that that air out through these grooves (15), through the plunger (3), as a result of the density of the foam block (4) offering the necessary resistance for the air to evaporate outside through these perforations or grooves (fifteen).
