Abstract

The invention relates to a diagnostic method for an axle drive train (100) that has at least one axle transmission (1), wherein according to the diagnostic method a simulated oil temperature (Tsim) of an oil of the axle transmission (1, 1') is calculated using an oil temperature prediction algorithm, and a measured oil temperature (T­act) of the oil of the axle transmission (1) is determined by means of at least one temperature sensor (12) arranged in the axle transmission (1). According to the invention, an assessment of a functional state of the axle drive train (100) is carried out on the basis of a comparison of the simulated oil temperature (Tsim) with the measured oil temperature (T­act).
