Definitions
- the present invention relates to a stainless steel for high-pressure hydrogen gas having a high strength with a tensile strength of 800 MPa or more and excellent mechanical properties in a high-pressure hydrogen gas environment.
- the stainless steel used for containers and piping has a high strength of SUS316L or higher, especially a tensile strength of 800 MPa or higher.
- SUS316L requires pipes and containers with a wall thickness of 20 mm or more, which leads to a significant increase in on-board weight.
- Patent Document 1 describes a cold working and hydrogen environment embrittlement characteristic in austenitic stainless steel.
- Patent Document 2 and Patent Document 3 describe high strength for high-pressure hydrogen gas utilizing precipitation strengthening by fine nitride. Stainless steel has been proposed.
- Patent Document 2 discloses a high-strength austenitic stainless steel mainly composed of 7 to 30% Mn, 15 to 22% Cr, and 5 to 20% Ni, and Patent Document 3 includes 3 to 30% Mn.
- a high-strength austenitic stainless steel mainly composed of more than 22% and 30% or less of Cr and 17 to 20% of Ni has been proposed.
- Patent Document 1 the effect of cold working on hydrogen environment embrittlement is also examined in SUS316L. If cold working is performed with a cross-section reduction rate of 30% or less, there is no significant effect on hydrogen environment embrittlement characteristics. It has been confirmed that there is a possibility that a tensile strength of about 800 MPa can be realized by cold working with a cross-section reduction rate of 20 to 30%. However, there is a problem in that the elongation and hydrogen environment embrittlement characteristics are lowered by cold working.
- the invention described in Patent Document 1 discloses a technique for suppressing deterioration in hydrogen environment embrittlement and elongation by cold working in two or more stages and performing cold working in different working directions as a countermeasure. However, a rather complicated cold work is required.
- Patent Documents 2 and 3 achieve a high strength of 800 MPa or more in the state after the solution heat treatment.
- Mn is less than 7%
- sufficient hydrogen environment embrittlement characteristics cannot be obtained, and sufficient strength cannot be achieved with the solution heat treatment.
- the steel according to Patent Document 3 has a very high Cr concentration and Ni concentration, and the alloy cost is considerably high.
- the austenitic stainless steel described in Patent Document 2 can be manufactured at a somewhat lower alloy cost than the steel of Patent Document 3. Therefore, compared to Patent Document 2, if a low Mn of less than 7% Mn can be used for high-pressure hydrogen applications, the steel in that range has been conventionally used for applications in the nuclear field or the like, so a common steel ingot Can be used, and industrial production advantages are born.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned present situation, and has not been realized in Patent Document 2, but has a high tensile strength of 800 MPa or more and hydrogen environment embrittlement characteristics in a composition region where Mn is less than 7%.
- An object of the present invention is to provide an austenitic stainless steel excellent in the above.
- the resistance of high nitrogen steel to hydrogen environment embrittlement can be increased by refining the crystal grains.
- a method for refining crystal grains there is a method of suppressing the growth of crystal grains by a pinning effect by precipitating fine alloy carbonitrides during the final solution heat treatment.
- the addition of V or Nb is most effective for producing fine carbonitrides and making the grains of high nitrogen steel finer.
- V and Nb are precipitated as nitrides, since there are few precipitation nuclei, they are agglomerated and coarsened and cannot fully exhibit the pinning effect.
- the present invention has been completed based on the above findings, and the gist thereof is the austenitic stainless steel for high-pressure hydrogen gas shown in the following (1) to (3).
- C 0.10% or less
- Si 1.0% or less
- Mn 3% or more and less than 7%
- Cr 15 to 30%
- Ni 10% or more and less than 17%
- Al Containing 0.10% or less
- N 0.10 to 0.50%
- V 0.010 to 1.0%
- Nb 0.01 to 0.50%
- S is 0.050% or less
- an alloy carbonitride having a tensile strength of 800 MPa or more, a grain size number (ASTM E 112) of 8 or more, and a maximum diameter of 50 to 1000 nm is obtained by cross-sectional observation.

- an austenitic stainless steel having a high tensile strength of 800 MPa or more and excellent hydrogen environment embrittlement characteristics in a composition region where Mn is less than 7%.
- the reason for limiting the chemical composition and metal structure of the steel sheet is as follows.
- C 0.10% or less
- C is not an element that is positively added. If C exceeds 0.10%, carbides precipitate at the grain boundaries and adversely affect toughness and the like, so C is suppressed to 0.10% or less.
- the C content is preferably 0.04% or less, and more preferably 0.02% or less. Although the C content is preferably as low as possible, an extreme reduction in the C content leads to an increase in refining costs, so it is desirable for practical use to be 0.001% or more.
- Si 1.0% or less
- the Si content is set to 1.0% or less. Preferably it is 0.5% or less. The lower the Si content, the better. However, considering the refining cost, it is desirable that the Si content be 0.01% or more.
- Mn 3% or more and less than 7% Mn is an inexpensive austenite stabilizing element.
- an appropriate combination with Cr, Ni, N, etc. contributes to an increase in strength and an improvement in ductility and toughness.
- the present invention aims to finely precipitate carbonitrides to refine crystal grains, but when the amount of N dissolved is small, a process comprising solution heat treatment, cold work, and secondary heat treatment described later Even if it passes through, carbon dioxide with sufficient number density cannot be deposited, and it becomes difficult to increase the strength by refining austenite crystal grains. Therefore, it is necessary to contain 3% or more of Mn. When the Mn content is 7% or more, the technique described in Patent Document 2 can be applied.
- the upper limit of the Mn content is less than 7%. Therefore, the Mn content is specified to be 3% or more and less than 7%.
- a desirable lower limit of Mn is 4%.
- the Mn content is effective at 6.5% or less, and particularly effective at 6.2% or less.
- Cr 15-30% Cr is an essential component as an element for ensuring corrosion resistance as stainless steel.
- the content needs to be 15% or more. However, if the content is excessive, coarse carbides such as coarse M 23 C 6 that reduce ductility and toughness are easily generated in large amounts. Accordingly, the proper content of Cr is 15 to 30%. Preferably it is 18 to 24%, more preferably 20 to 23.5%.
- Ni 10% or more and less than 17% Ni is added as an austenite stabilizing element.
- an appropriate combination with Cr, Mn, N, etc. increases strength and improves ductility and toughness. Contribute. Therefore, the Ni content is set to 10% or more. However, if the content is 17% or more, the effect is saturated and the material cost is increased. Therefore, the proper content is 10% or more and less than 17%.
- the content is preferably 11 to 15%, more preferably 11.5 to 13.5%.
- Al 0.10% or less
- Al is an important element as a deoxidizer, but if it exceeds 0.10% and remains in a large amount, it promotes the formation of intermetallic compounds such as a sigma phase. Therefore, in order to achieve both the strength and toughness intended by the present invention, it is necessary to limit the Al content to 0.10% or less. In order to ensure the effect of deoxidation, the content is preferably 0.001% or more.
- the Al content is preferably 0.05% or less, more preferably 0.03% or less.
- Al of this specification refers to what is called "sol.Al (acid-soluble Al)".
- N 0.10 to 0.50%
- N is the most important solid solution strengthening element, and at the same time, in the present invention, by forming a fine alloy carbonitride, the crystal grains are refined and contributes to high strength. In order to utilize for increasing the strength, it is necessary to contain 0.10% or more of N. However, if it exceeds 0.50%, coarse nitrides are formed and mechanical properties such as toughness are deteriorated. Therefore, the N content is 0.10 to 0.50%. A preferred lower limit is 0.20%, and a more preferred lower limit is 0.30%.
- V and Nb are important elements in the steel of the present invention.
- V and Nb are important elements in the steel of the present invention.
- V is contained in an amount exceeding 1.0%
- Nb is contained in an amount exceeding 0.50%, the effect is saturated and the material cost is increased, so the upper limit of V is 1.0% and the upper limit of Nb, respectively.
- the desirable content of V is 0.10 to 0.30%, and the desirable content of Nb is 0.15 to 0.28%, and it is more effective to contain both V and Nb.
- P 0.050% or less
- P is an impurity and is an element that has an adverse effect on the toughness of steel and the like. Preferably it is 0.025% or less, More preferably, it is 0.018% or less.
- S 0.050% or less S is an impurity and, like P, is an element that adversely affects the toughness of steel and the like. Preferably it is 0.010% or less, More preferably, it is 0.005% or less.
- the steel according to the present invention has the above-mentioned chemical composition, and the balance consists of Fe and impurities.
- the impurities are components that are mixed due to various factors in the manufacturing process including raw materials such as ore and scrap when industrially manufacturing steel, and in a range that does not adversely affect the present invention. It means what is allowed.
- the steel according to the present invention may contain one or more components selected from at least one group from the following first group to the fourth group, if necessary, in addition to the above components.
- components belonging to these groups will be described.
- the elements belonging to the first group are Mo and W. These have the common effect of promoting the formation and stabilization of carbonitrides and contributing to solid solution strengthening.
- the reasons for limiting the respective contents are as follows.
- the elements belonging to the second group are Ti, Zr, Hf, Ta. These have a common effect of promoting the formation of carbonitrides.
- Ti, Zr, Hf, and Ta have the effect of forming alloy carbonitrides and refining crystal grains in the same manner as V and Nb, and can be contained as necessary. This effect can be obtained by adding each element in an amount of 0.001% or more.
- the upper limit of the content of these elements is 0.5% for Ti, 0.5% for Zr, 0.3% for Hf, and Ta is 0.6%.
- a preferable upper limit of Ti and Zr is 0.1%, and a more preferable upper limit is 0.03%.
- a preferable upper limit of Hf is 0.08%, and a more preferable upper limit is 0.02%.
- a preferable upper limit of Ta is 0.4%, and a more preferable upper limit is 0.3%.
- the elements belonging to the third group are B, Cu and Co. These contribute to increasing the strength of steel.
- the reasons for limiting the respective contents are as follows.
- B 0.0001 to 0.020% B refines the precipitate and refines the austenite crystal grain size to increase the strength. Therefore, B can be contained if necessary. The effect is exhibited at 0.0001% or more. On the other hand, if the content is excessive, a compound having a low melting point may be formed to reduce hot workability, so the upper limit is made 0.020%.
- Cu 0.3 to 5.0%
- Co 0.3 to 10.0%
- Cu and Co are austenite stabilizing elements and contribute to increasing the strength by solid solution strengthening. Therefore, one or both of them can be contained by 0.3% or more as required.
- the upper limit of the content is 5.0% and 10.0% from the balance between the effect and the material cost.
- the members belonging to the fourth group are Mg, Ca, La, Ce, Y, Sm, Pr and Nd. These have a common action of preventing solidification cracking during casting.
- Mg 0.0001 to 0.0050%, Ca: 0.0001 to 0.0050%, La: 0.0001 to 0.20%, Ce: 0.0001 to 0.20%, Y: 0.0001 to 0.40%, Sm: 0.0001 to 0.40%, Pr: 0.0001 to 0.40% and Nd: 0.0001 to 0.50%
- La, Ce, Y, Sm, Pr and Nd have the action of preventing solidification cracking during casting, so that one or more of them may be contained as required. good. The effect is manifested at 0.0001% or more, respectively.
- the upper limit is 0.0050% for Mg and Ca, 0.20% for La and Ce, and 0 for Y, Sm, and Pr. .40% and Nd is 0.50%.
- (B) Steel structure Nitrogen used in the present invention is effective for solid solution strengthening, but by lowering the stacking fault energy, it localizes the strain at the time of deformation and lowers the durability against hydrogen environment embrittlement. Have. However, by refining the crystal grain size, it is possible to achieve both high strength of 800 MPa or more and prevention of hydrogen environment embrittlement. In order to prevent hydrogen environment embrittlement, the crystal grain size number (ASTM E 112) is 8 or more, preferably 9 or more, more preferably 10 or more.
- alloy carbonitride In order to refine crystal grains, pinning using alloy carbonitride is effective. In order to obtain this effect, it is necessary to contain 0.4 or more / ⁇ m 2 of alloy carbonitride having a size of 50 to 1000 nm by cross-sectional observation.
- These alloy carbonitrides contain Cr, V, Nb, Mo, W, Ta, etc. as main components, and are Z-phase, that is, Cr (Nb, V) (C, N), or MX type (M: Cr). , V, Nb, Mo, W, Ta, etc., X: C, N).
- the alloy carbonitride in the present invention refers to a carbonitride containing almost no Fe, and even if Fe is contained, it is 1 atom% or less. Further, the carbonitride in the present invention includes a case where the content of C (carbon) is extremely small, that is, a case where it is a nitride.
- the first solution heat treatment needs to be performed at 1000 ° C. or higher, preferably 1100 ° C. or higher in order to sufficiently dissolve the alloy elements. However, if the temperature exceeds 1200 ° C., the crystal grains become extremely coarse, so the upper limit is 1200. °C.
- T1 temperature the heat treatment temperature in the solution heat treatment is referred to as “T1 temperature”.
- solution heat treatment according to the present invention is not limited as long as the solid solution treatment is performed to the extent necessary to precipitate the carbonitride in the subsequent secondary heat treatment, and all the carbonitride-forming elements are not necessarily dissolved. Does not need to be solubilized.
- the steel material that has been subjected to solution heat treatment is preferably rapidly cooled from the solution heat treatment temperature, and is preferably water-cooled (shower water-cooled or soaked).
- solution heat treatment it is not always necessary to provide an independent solution heat treatment step, and an equivalent effect can be obtained by performing rapid cooling after a hot working step such as hot extrusion. For example, after the hot extrusion at around 1150 ° C., rapid cooling may be performed.
- T2 temperature the heat treatment temperature in the secondary heat treatment
- T2 temperature shall be less than T1 temperature.
- the T2 temperature is preferably [T1 treatment temperature ⁇ 20 ° C.] or less, more preferably [T1 treatment temperature ⁇ 50 ° C.] or less.
- the T2 temperature is preferably 1150 ° C. or less, more preferably 1080 ° C. or less.
- the T2 temperature is lower than 900 ° C., coarse Cr carbide is generated and the structure becomes nonuniform, so the lower limit is set to 900 ° C.
- Stainless steel having a chemical composition shown in Table 1 was melted in a vacuum of 50 kg, and a block having a thickness of 40 to 60 mm was formed by hot forging.
- the sample was sampled and filled with resin so that the vertical cross section in the rolling direction of the plate was an observation object, and after electrolytic etching, the crystal grain size number (according to ASTM E 112) was measured. Similarly, the number of precipitates was measured by observation with an electron microscope using an extraction replica method using a resin embedding material in the cross-sectional direction. Ten fields of a 25 ⁇ m 2 region were observed at a magnification of 10,000 times, and a precipitate having a size of 50 to 1000 nm was measured.
- the precipitates measured here are Z-phases of orthorhombic structure containing Cr, V, Nb, C, N, etc., or MX type carbonitrides of tetragonal structure containing Cr, Nb, V, C, N, etc. It is.
- a round bar tensile test piece having a parallel part diameter of 3 mm in the longitudinal direction of the plate material was collected, and subjected to a tensile test at a strain rate of 3 ⁇ 10 ⁇ 6 / s in normal temperature air or 85 MPa high-pressure hydrogen gas at normal temperature. (TS), elongation at break was measured. Since the influence of hydrogen appears prominently in ductility reduction, the ratio between the elongation at break in air and the elongation at break in hydrogen is defined as the relative elongation at break, and if this relative elongation at break is 80% or more, preferably 90% or more, it depends on hydrogen. It was interpreted that the decrease in ductility was slight and excellent in hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance.
- the strain rate of 3 ⁇ 10 ⁇ 6 / s in the tensile test is considerably smaller than the strain rate of 10 ⁇ 4 / s in the tensile test in the high-pressure hydrogen gas environment used in the conventional literature. This is because an evaluation test at an extremely low strain rate, which makes the austenitic stainless steel more susceptible to hydrogen environment embrittlement, is recommended in recent evaluation criteria in durability evaluation against hydrogen environment embrittlement.
- Table 2 shows the grain size number, the number of carbonitrides, the tensile strength (TS), and the relative elongation at break of the test steel.
- Test Nos. 1 to 35 are examples of the present invention, the crystal grain size number is 8 or more, a sufficient number of carbonitrides are precipitated, TS is 800 MPa or more, and the relative elongation at break is 80 or more. It had hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance.
- Test numbers 36 to 41 are comparative examples.
- the solution heat treatment temperature T1 was too high, the crystal grains became coarse and the hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance was poor.
- Test No. 37 is a solution heat treatment temperature T1 too low, the number density of carbonitride is small, the crystal grains are coarse, and the test numbers 38 and 39, which are inferior in hydrogen embrittlement resistance, have a low degree of cold work. The number of carbonitride precipitates was insufficient, the crystal grains became coarse, and the hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance was poor.
- the secondary heat treatment temperature T2 was too high, the crystal grains were coarsened, and the hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance was poor.
- the final solution heat treatment temperature T2 was too low and too high, the number density of carbonitride was small, the crystal grains were coarsened, and the hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance was inferior.
- Test numbers 42 to 45 are comparative examples, and the chemical composition of the steel material is outside the scope of the present invention.
- the Mn content was too low.
- N (nitrogen) could not be sufficiently contained, the crystal grains became coarse, the strength was low, and the hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance was poor.
- the Ni content was low, ⁇ ferrite was generated, and the hydrogen environment embrittlement resistance was inferior.
- Test No. 44 had a high Cr content, produced coarse Cr carbide, and was inferior in hydrogen embrittlement resistance.
- Test No. 45 had a low N (nitrogen) content, coarsened grains, low strength, and poor hydrogen embrittlement resistance.
- the present invention even if it is an austenitic stainless steel with Mn of less than 7%, by combining the cold working process between the two heat treatments, the hydrogen environment embrittlement characteristics can be obtained. It becomes possible to make excellent high-strength steel, and it can be used for piping and containers for high-pressure hydrogen gas.

Al(酸可溶Al)」を指す。
