Abstract

The application relates to an apparatus (1) for cleaning the surface of moving metal webs (10), having at least one cleaning chamber (11) that has an inlet opening (12) through which the metal web (10) enters the cleaning chamber (11), the cleaning chamber (11) having an outlet opening (13) through which the metal web (10) exits the cleaning chamber (11), wherein the inlet opening (13) and the outlet opening (14) have a height of at least 10 cm above the metal web (10), and wherein an injection unit (14) is provided, through which an injection medium is injected into the cleaning chamber (11) in the direction of the surface of the metal web (10), and wherein the cleaning chamber (11) has an extraction unit (15), by means of which at least the injection medium can be extracted from the cleaning chamber (11).
