Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention
A water supply nipple according to the present invention having the above effects is constructed by a cock 20 opening/closing a discharge port 16 within a nipple case
10, a hollow rubber packing 30 connecting with an upper part of the cock 20 and closely adhering downward, and a fixing cap 40 pressing the rubber packing 30, so livestock can operate the cock of a water supply tipple by its mouth and take drinking water by itself through the discharge port.
Hereinafter, a water supply nipple for livestock farming according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a disassembled perspective diagram illustrating constituent elements of a water supply nipple for livestock farming according to a preferred exemplary embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a cross section illustrating an internal structure of an assembled water supply nipple for livestock farming according to the present invention. A nipple case 10 constitutes an outer form of the water supply nipple of the present invention. The nipple case 10 communicates to a pipe connector 12 extended and formed at its upper part to be installed in a water supply pipe 1 and supply drinking water, and a lower discharge port 16. The connector 12 is formed to have a hexagonal outer circumference for easy fastening or unfastening and is formed to have a first screw thread 13 for pipe 1 connection at its inner circumference or outer circumference. The connector 12 is stepped and reduced in diameter at a lower part of the inner circumference and has a second screw thread 14 formed for engagement with a fixing cap 40.
A cock 20 is built in the nipple case 10 and is extended and protruded downward. The cock 20 having a predetermined length is reduced in diameter as going up and has a block plate 22 formed at its upper end. The cock 20 allows the block plate 22 to open/close the discharge port 16. A protrusion part 24 is formed at an upper surface of the block plate 22.
Water supply grooves 25 are formed in the protrusion part 24. The water supply grooves 25 are radially formed to intersect with each other such that drinking water passes through between the block plate 22 and a coupling part of the rubber packing 30. In other words, the water supply grooves 25, which are depressed grooves (i.e., concave shapes) or protrusion jaws (i.e., convex shapes), are extended and formed to the side of the block plate 22, thus securing a waterway communicating with a through-hole 32.
The rubber packing 30 is a predetermined rubber member extending lengthwise and has the through-hole 32 at its center. As shown in the drawings, it is desirable that the rubber packing 30 is a crinkle-shaped tubular body whose outer circumference is a ring-shaped concavo-convex frame and which is crinkled in multiple steps. This allows a smooth operation of the cock 20 and improves an elastic force of the rubber packing 30 and can maintain a balance such that, upon operation, the cock 20 avoids a deviation from the center.
The through-hole 32 of the rubber packing 30 insert- fits the protrusion part 24 to its lower part, thus communicating with the water supply grooves 25.
The fixing cap 40 is engaged with an inner and upper part of the nipple case 10 and presses and closely adheres to the rubber packing 30.
The fixing cap 40 communicates with the through-hole 32 at its center communication hole 42. The fixing cap 40 is formed such that its upper part is of a polygonal shape, thus facilitating engagement and disengagement from the second screw thread 14.
An Λ0'-ring 26 is provided between the block plate 22 and the outlet 16, thus preventing leakage. The λO' -ring 26 is fitted to the cock 20. A cover 50 is provided at a lower part of the nipple case 10 to cover the cock 20 and protects the cock 20 from impact force. The cover 50 is put on a nut 52 engaged to the discharge port 16. The cover 50 extends at its lower frame, thus preventing a livestock's foot, etc. from easily approaching the cock 20.
The cover 50 sliding-contacts along the nipple case 10 such that it operates up/down. Thus, by livestock's lift-up action by a mouth, the cock 20 is exposed and water intake is made possible. The water supply nipple for livestock farming of the present invention will be more easily understood through a description of an operation state with reference to FIG. 3. FIG. 3 is an internal cross section illustrating an operation state of a water supply nipple for livestock farming according to the present invention. In the water supply nipple of the present invention, if livestock lifts up the cover 50 by its mouth and simultaneously inclines the cock 20 to the front and left/right or pushes up the cock 20 to take drinking water, the rubber packing 30 is compressed while the block plate 22 opens the discharge port 16, so drinking water is discharged through the communication hole 42, the through-hole 32, and the water supply groove 25.
Then, if the mouth is kept apart from the cock 20, the cock 20 is automatically restored to the original position by an elastic restoring force of the rubber packing 30 and the discharge port 16 is blocked and at the same time, the cover
50 is restored downward by self weight.
Depending on a degree of increasing or decreasing a clamping force of the fixing cap 40, a compression force of the rubber packing 30 varies and also an operation force of the cock 20 closing the discharge port 16 can be controlled.
FIGS. 4 and 5 are a perspective diagram and operation state diagram illustrating another example of a water supply nipple for livestock farming according to the present invention. The present invention enables drinking water introduced from the pipe 1 to flow outside the rubber packing 30 and be supplied.
The rubber packing 30 has cutaway channels 34 formed at a predetermined interval on a crinkled part of its outer circumference. The cutaway channels 34 communicate with each other in line, thus allowing a sufficient and smooth flow of drinking water.
The fixing cap 40 has communication holes 42a opened at its upper and side part. The communication hole 42a communicates with a radial-shape water supply groove 44 concaved at its lower end surface and allows a flow of drinking water.
The drinking water introduced into the communication hole 42a flows to the cutaway channels 34 through the water supply groove 44 and is sufficiently supplied downward. As above, the present invention can allow a flow of drinking water through the through-hole 32 of the rubber packing 30 and the water supply grooves 25 of the protrusion part 24. When a flow of drinking water is smooth or unnecessary, exclusion does not matter.
FIG. 6 is a perspective diagram illustrating another example of a rubber packing of a water supply nipple for livestock farming according to the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 6, a rubber packing 30a is spiral- shaped at its outer circumference and allows drinking water to pass through the water supply groove 44 and be supplied to the discharge port 16 along a spiral channel.
While the present invention has been described and illustrated herein with reference to the preferred embodiments thereof, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention covers the modifications and variations of this invention that come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents .
