Abstract

The present invention relates to a vacuum melting apparatus for a light metal, and to a vacuum melting method using same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a vacuum melting apparatus for a light metal, wherein a pipe-shaped melting furnace (21) shaped as a cylindrical pipe, and which has an outer surface equipped with a heating means (27) and an end with a stopper (23), is inclined in a vacuum melting chamber (100), such that a light metal material (40) injected through a material injection portion (20) is stopped by the stopper (23) and made molten by the heating means (27) in the inclined pipe-shaped melting furnace (21). Whereby, a melt (42) which is obtained from the point of melting of the light metal material (40) to the completion of melting, and which has a form of a drop of liquid flows into a molten metal heat insulation furnace (10), such that gases generated during the light metal melting process are almost perfectly separated to produce a cast made of pure light metal materials. The present invention also relates to a vacuum melting method using the apparatus.
