Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Pflanzensamenöl, umfassend Arachidonsäure mit einem Gehalt von ungefähr 7 bis ungefähr 26 Gewichtsprozent am Gesamtfettsäuregehalt, wobei das Verhältnis der Gewichtsprozente von Arachidonsäure zu Gamma-Linolensäure ungefähr 1:1 bis ungefähr 5:1 und das Verhältnis der Gewichtsprozente von Arachidonsäure zu Dihomo-Gamma-Linolensäure ungefähr 1:1 bis ungefähr 5:1 beträgt. Die Erfindung betrifft des weiteren Verfahren zur Herstellung dieses Pflanzensamenöls sowie Formulierungen und Verwendungen des Pflanzensamenöls. Insbesondere stellt die Erfindung auch Nahrungsmittel und Babynahrung zur Verfügung, die das angeführte Pflanzensamenöl enthalten.
