Abstract

Especially designed for application to the preparation of catalogues or any other similar practical use in which a similar performance is required, provided that there exists the need to extract the sheets thereof individually, and introduce other new sheets, and based on a plurality of rings as a fastening means for the sheets to be bound, said rings being associated with a support plate which is fixed onto the corresponding back of the book, supplemented with a sliding plate able to occupy a position for locking the rings or releasing them, so as to allow introduction or extraction of said sheets; the invention is based on the central feature that the rings (1, 1' and 1'') have a configuration resembling a semi-circular contour and are mounted on anchoring elements (2) forming modules or blocks for assembly on the associated support plate (6) for fixing to the back of the book.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a practicable binding device, intended for single sheets, in order to be able at any time to make a contribution of sheets or extraction of any of them.

The device is specially designed for application in the preparation of catalogs or any other practical case in which similar performance is required, provided that it is necessary to unitarily extract its sheets, as well as the incorporation of new ones.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There are numerous solutions marketed and even patented to bind in an removable or practicable way an indeterminate number of sheets, so that a classic solution is the so-called "ring" in which a rigid spine cover that incorporates a support with a support with a plurality of rings, in variable number, but in any case practicable by means of a mechanism that tends to keep them open or closed, the sheets being provided in proximity to one of their edges of holes numerically and positionally coinciding with said rings, to which dock with some adjustment. This solution, perfectly valid from the theoretical point of view, presents in practice problems that are mainly focused on two aspects, on the one hand when it comes to mobilizing a considerable block of sheets within the notebook, since in that case the operation is extremely difficult and even impossible, and on the other hand the mechanisms that tend to stabilize the rings in the two positions mentioned are gaining over time, so that their functionality leaves much to be desired after a rather short life.

Another binding system is the so-called "worm", based on a helical wired element that although offers a high security against breakage of the sheets, compared to the case of the ring blocks, due to the high number of perforations that each sheet incorporates, However, it presents a problem similar to that of the aforementioned case, in addition to assuming great complexity in handling when extracting leaves or introducing new ones.

Practicable bindings are also known that use a plastic sheet with arched pins that tend to close on themselves due to the elastic nature of the material that constitutes them, so that in this case although the massive tilting of the leaves in some way is facilitated The maneuvers to be carried out with the catalog or notebook, however, there is a great difficulty when it comes to extracting or introducing sheets, to the point that it is absolutely essential to use a device made for this purpose.

To solve these problems and inconveniences, the applicant is the holder of the Spanish Invention Patent P 200702558, which describes a binding system with a function similar to that of the classic ring binders, where the rings are semicircular and are mounted with removable and independent character on a support plate, these rings presenting a semi-circumferential or similar profile, of considerable length, in accordance with that of linear windows established on the support plate, for snap-fit coupling of the edges of such rings in the commented linear windows of the support plate, provided for this purpose in the longitudinal edges of the rings internal grooves that exceed the linear windows of the support plate, receiving below it a tongue or slide with narrowed sectors and alternating widened sectors, that release and block the semi-rings respectively. In this way it is achieved that the sheets are not damaged in the assembly and disassembly thereof, or in the use of the notebook, also allowing easy simultaneous tilting of a considerable number of sheets.

This system is very practical and simple to operate when carrying out the incorporation and / or extraction of sheets with respect to the rings, although it is planned so that in a normal block there are four rings and sometimes, for certain catalogs, they do not offer sufficient rigidity, as is the case with furniture and similar catalogs.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The binding device that is recommended, is based on the one referred to in the last paragraph of the previous section, that is, in the binding system patented by the same requesting firm, but with a series of innovations from which advantages and new benefits are derived .

More specifically, the device of the invention, being of the - TO -

type of those that incorporate a support plate fixed on the spine of the notebook or block, and a sliding piece located under that plate, with holes facing for passage of the fasteners of the assembly to the spine, presents the particularity that the rings are completely curved on one of its sides, while on the opposite an extreme and straight section is determined, which facilitates the passage of the bound sheets.

Another characteristic of novelty is that the rings are grouped into blocks and are located close to each other, thereby increasing the number of them and therefore giving the whole a greater resistance.

Specifically in the set of rings, these can be distributed in three blocks or modules that are attached to the support plate, although each ring can be independent of its corresponding block or module, to be able to replace in case of breakage or deterioration of the same .

Another characteristic of novelty is that the lower sliding part on which the support plate is placed, has its passage hole of the fixing rivet to the corresponding spine of the notebook or block, of doubly circular configuration, that is to say with two circular contours related between if through a strangulation, so that the rivet can be placed in any of these two widened and circular zones in a stable situation, determining the position of open or closed, that is to say allowing the extraction or incorporation of sheets can be carried out , since in one of the positions the rings are perfectly locked and immobilized, while in the other the rings can be released and allow that extraction or incorporation of leaves.

In this way, in addition to the advantages already mentioned, it is possible that the sheets can be manipulated, both in their extraction and in their incorporation, without having to operate each ring of a in one, but when the rings are grouped into blocks or modules, each one of them will be the ones that are handled together, making operations easier and therefore reducing the time spent on it.

According to a variant embodiment of the invention, the rings, instead of having a straight end and another sharply curved, can have both straight and divergent ends towards their free end, topped on pins that bend outward, that is to say they are in coplanar arrangement and in contrast, so that once the groups of rings are introduced in the support body, they are trapped through said pins and by the complementary sliding sliding plate on the body.

This solution offers greater guarantees from the point of view of structural strength, that is to say, from the point of view of fixing the groups of rings to the body of the system, and consequently to the back of the folder, but in return said pins make it somewhat difficult the maneuvers of introduction and extraction of the leaves.

Finally and according to another variant of embodiment of the invention, it is provided that said rings, maintaining the configuration of the previous embodiment variant, in terms of the existence of rectilinear and divergent sections at the ends of their lateral branches, instead of finish off in "live" pins determining almost staggered stops, they are finished off in more rounded projections, which in a slight detriment of the fixation facilitate in a very considerable way the introduction and extraction of the leaves.

In addition, these projections instead of being oriented in contrast, that is, both outwards, are oriented in the same meaning, that is to say, all those of a longitudinal edge of the piece oriented outwards and those of the other longitudinal edge oriented inwards.

In this case the sliding plate is provided with wedge-shaped projections, which push the ends of each pin to the same side, blocking the exit of said pins by the cover of the assembly.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

To complement the description that is being made and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, according to a preferred example of practical implementation thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

In view of the aforementioned figures, it can be seen as the practicable binding device proposed by the invention, part of the use of a plurality of rings (1) that form modules or groups thereof as they are linked by one of its ends to respective elements or profiles (2), so that in each of them there are or are coupled several rings (1), these being provided at said coupling end to the mounting element (2) of the corresponding locking means (3), while the other end is straight, because it must be borne in mind that the rings start from a practically semicircular configuration but that the end we are referring to is completely straight, the one referenced with (4), ending in an internal projection (5) whose function will be exposed later. These modules or ring assemblies (1) are mounted on a support plate (6) with holes (7) for the passage of corresponding fixing rivets to the corresponding spine of a notebook or folder, with that plate (6) provided in proximity to one of its lateral edges of some recesses (8), longitudinally, with windows (8 ') for anchoring the elements (2) corresponding to the modules or ring assemblies (1). In proximity to the opposite longitudinal edge of said support plate (6), windows (9) are provided in which the ends of the straight sections (4) of the rings (1) are positioned, being retained in those windows (9) the projections (5) of the commented straight and extreme sections (4) of the rings.

The support plate (6) is complemented with a sliding part (10) affected by a double hole (11), that is to say equipped with two circular expansions with an intermediate section that determines a throttle, so that the through rivet for each of the holes (7) of the plates (6) for fixing it to the back of the notebook or block, is coincident with one of these circular expansions (11) allowing that according to the position of the rivet in one or another expansion (11) , it is established the situation of blocking the rings (1) or the release of the same in order to carry out the extraction or exchange of sheets.

As shown in Figure 1, the rings (1) are assembled in blocks, being embedded in the elements (2) and these in turn mounted on the recesses (7) established on one of the longitudinal edges of the support plate (6), which facilitates and speeds up the assembly and disassembly, by being carried out by groups of rings and not by each individual ring, in addition to the number of them being remarkable, so that the resistance of the assembly is increased . According to the variant of embodiment shown in Figures 5 and 6, it is feasible that the rings (V) forming more or less numerous groups as in the previous case, or even being all of one piece, have both extreme zones ( 12) rectilinear and divergent, as can be seen particularly in Figure 6, said rings being substantially symmetrical with respect to the median plane of the assembly, and ending in two pins (13), angled outwards, arranged in opposition and coplanar, so that the corresponding sliding part (10) blocks or unlocks said pins (13) depending on their position with respect to the support (6), that is, depending on whether one or the other of the circular areas of the double holes (11) is facing each other to the corresponding fixing rivet to the spine of the folder.

Finally, the embodiment shown in Figures 7 and 8 is also provided, very similar to the one just described, but in which the rings (1 "), also maintaining straight and divergent ends

(12 '), they are finished off in protuberances (14) much more rounded than the pins (13) of the previous case, and also oriented in the same direction, as observed especially in Figure 8, so that this configuration, also allowing The locking of the rings on the support with the collaboration of the slide, facilitates by its rounded shapes the introduction / extraction of the sheets of the notebook or folder.

Logically, in this case, the configuration of the slide (10) will also be appropriate to the configuration and arrangement of said reallocations (14).
