Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von korrosionsgeschützten, insbesondere glänzenden, Metallpigmenten, umfassend a) Zurverfügungstellung einer Trägerschicht, b) Aufbringen mindestens einer Metallschicht aus einem ersten Metall, einem ersten Edelmetall oder einer ersten Metalllegierung mittels Aufdampfens bzw. Auftragens dieses ersten Metalls, dieses ersten Edelmetalls oder dieser ersten Metalllegierung, insbesondere im Vakuum, auf einer beschichtbaren Oberfläche der Trägerschicht, und c) Eintragen mindestens einer Säure, eines Oxids, Doppeloxids, Oxid-Hydrats, Sulfids, Halogenids, Nitrids, Carbids, Carbonitrids, Borids, Silicids, Oxyhalogenids und/oder Salzes eines zweiten Metalls in die Metallschicht durch Behandeln der Metallschicht mit einem wässrigen System, enthaltend mindestens eine Säure, ein Oxid, Doppeloxid, Oxid-Hydrat, Sulfid, Halogenid, Nitrid, Carbid, Carbonitrid, Borid, Silicid, Oxyhalogenid und/oder Salz des zweiten Metalls, wobei das zweite Metall ein Element der 4. Gruppe und/oder der 5. Gruppe des Periodensystems der Elemente oder Mischungen hiervon darstellt, d) Ablösen der gebildeten Metallschicht von der Trägerschicht und e) Zerkleinern der abgelösten Metallschicht unter Erhalt von Metallpigmenten. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung die nach diesem Verfahren erhältlichen Metallpigmente sowie Kunststoff- und Papierprodukte sowie Beschichtungszusammensetzungen, enthaltend die erfindungsgemäßen Metallpigmente. Darüber hinaus betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von insbesondere korrosionsgeschützten, glänzenden Kunststoffsubstraten, enthaltend, insbesondere erfindungsgemäße, Metallpigmente, sowie die nach diesem Verfahren erhältlichen Kunststoffsubstrate.
