Abstract

An air compressor is provided with a compressed air generating apparatus for generating compressed air; a tank section for storing the compressed air generated by the compressed air generating apparatus; a motor for driving the compressed air generating apparatus; control sections (5, 20) for controlling the drive quantity of the motor; and a current detecting apparatus (28) for detecting a drive current value to be used for driving the motor. The control sections (5, 20) control the drive quantity of the motor based on the drive current value detected by the current detecting apparatus (28).
