Abstract

内燃機関における空気・燃料混合気の点火を火花放電とマイクロ波との両エネルギを用いて行う場合において、燃焼室内の共振手段を不要とし、また、燃焼室内の電極構造を簡略化することができる点火またはプラズマ発生装置を提供する。 高電圧パルス発生装置11からの高電圧パルスとマイクロ波発生装置12からのマイクロ波エネルギとを混合する混合回路13と、この混合回路13からの出力が供給されこの出力を内燃機関の燃焼室14に導入する点火プラグ27とを備え、混合回路13から点火プラグ27に供給される出力は、マイクロ波エネルギと高電圧パルスとが同じ伝送線路に重畳されて供給される。
