Abstract

When a disk array device (100) detects abnormality in a disk device under circumstances that an operation mode is a maintenance RAID mode (under circumstances that a maintenance RAID mode flag of an operation mode management table is ON), an array controller (200) outputs information on the disk device which detects the abnormality instead of shutting the disk device with the abnormality detected to stop operation of the disk array device (100). In addition, when abnormality occurs in the disk device during maintenance, the disk array device (100) immediately outputs information that the abnormality occurs.
