Abstract
A computer having a fault in the internal clock is allowed to be accurately detected. A time information collecting means (1c) acquires local time indicated by client-end internal clocks of clients (2), (3), and (4). A delay time calculating means (1d) then calculates delay time in communication from transmission time and arrival time for each of the clients (2), (3), and (4). A fault detecting means (1e) corrects the local time on the basis of the delay time and judges whether or not the error between a server-end internal clock (1a) and the client-end internal clocks is within a predetermined threshold for each of the clients (2), (3), and (4). If the errors between all the clients (2), (3), and (4) exceed the threshold, it is judged that the server-end internal clock (1a) has the fault. If the number of clients the errors of which exceed the threshold is not more than a predetermined ratio, it is judged that the client-end internal clock of the client the error of which exceeds the threshold has the fault.
