Abstract

 質量%で、C:0.01~1.9%、Si:0.01~1.9%、Mn:5.0~24.0%を含有し、残部Feおよび不可避的不純物からなる組成の鋼材とする。また、前記組成に加えてさらにCr:18.0%以下および/またはNi:12.0%以下を含有してもよく、また前記各組成に加えてさらに、Al:1%以下、および/または、N:0.3%以下を含有してもよい。またさらに前記各組成に加えてさらに、Nb、Ti、Zr、Mo、Cuのうちから選ばれた1種または2種以上を合計で4.0%以下含有してもよい。これにより、アルミニウム合金製シリンダの熱膨張に十分追従でき、内燃機関のアルミニウム合金製シリンダボア内面を摺動するピストンリング用として好適な、優れたシール性を維持できるピストンリングが製造可能となる。
