Abstract

 シリーズ式ハイブリッド電気自動車(1)に搭載されたエンジン(2)の排気通路に、アンモニア選択還元型NOx触媒(48)が介装され、アンモニア選択還元型NOx触媒(48)の上流側の排気中に尿素水を供給する尿素水インジェクタ(52)が排気通路に設けられる。エンジン(2)は、バッテリ(8)の充電状態に応じて始動・停止され、エンジン(2)の運転状態に応じて尿素水インジェクタ(52)が制御される、エンジン(2)が停止される場合には、停止前の所定期間にわたり、アンモニア選択還元型NOx触媒(48)へのアンモニアの吸着量を増大させるための吸着量増大運転を行った後にエンジン(2)を停止させる。
