Abstract

A desk has a pillar installation structure that achieves high stability while providing a top plate with a large usable area. The desk has the top plate (3) that is used as a desk surface, legs (2) that support the top plate (3), pillars (6) that installs a member above the top plate (3), and insertion holes (7) that are formed in the legs (2), into which the pillars (6) are inserted, and that each have an inner surface (71) extending along at least a part of a side surface of a corresponding pillar (6). The pillars (6) inserted in the insertion holes (7) are fixed to the inner surfaces (71).
