Abstract

Disclosed is an insulating member which is insulated with an insulating layer, wherein the insulating layer comprises an electrodeposition coating film and has a thermal endurance index rating of C as measured by a temperature index method in accordance with JIS C-3003, and wherein the electrodeposition coating film comprises a block copolymer polyimide having a siloxane bond in its molecular skeleton and an anionic group in its molecule. Also disclosed is an insulating member which is insulated with an insulating layer, wherein the insulating layer comprises an electrodeposition coating film and has an AC withstanding voltage of 1 kV or more at the layer thickness of 10 μm, an AC withstanding voltage of 2 kV or more at the layer thickness of 20 μm and an AC withstanding voltage of 3 kV or more at the layer thickness of 30 μm, and wherein the electrodeposition coating film comprises the above-mentioned block copolymer polyimide. These insulating members are highly heat-resistant insulating members each insulated with an insulating layer which has good adhesion to a base member, hardly causes cracking, and has a high degree of heat resistance. These insulating members hardly cause the detachment or cracking of the insulating layer, and have a high degree of insulating property.
