Abstract

A stick having an auxiliary grip section for allowing the user to hold it when they stand up from a seated position. The auxiliary grip section is provided at a stick body located between a grip section and a leg section of the stick. The auxiliary grip section is adapted so that the weight of the user holding it is transmitted as axial force to the leg section through the stick body. The auxiliary grip section is formed in a closed loop shape. Alternatively, the auxiliary grip section can be formed in an open loop shape having a bend outwardly curved from the stick body. Further, the auxiliary grip section is constructed so as to include the center axis of the stick body and to be present substantially along a plane extending in the direction in which the user walks. The user can easily stand up from a seated position.
