Abstract

Disclosed is a highly transparent retardation film having a certain retardation value and excellent heat resistance for retardation. Specifically disclosed is a retardation film obtained by curing a resin composition containing a polyfunctional monomer (I) having at least two (meth)acryloyl groups, a linear polymer (II) containing at least one terminal functional group reactive with the polyfunctional monomer and having a number average molecular weight of 1,000-10,000, a photopolymerization initiator (III) and/or a thermal polymerization initiator (IV). This retardation film is characterized in that the polyfunctional monomer as the component (I) is composed of one or more members selected from polyhedral silsesquioxanes, alicyclic monomers and aliphatic monomers, that the weight ratio (I):(II) between the component (I) and the component (II) is 5-90:10-95, and that the change in retardation value of the retardation film after a 10-hour heat treatment at 100˚C is within the range of 0-20 nm.
