Abstract

 薄型化に寄与し、光学特性に優れた液晶パネル及び液晶表示装置、非常に高い製造効率で液晶パネルを製造し得る方法を提供すること。  本発明の液晶パネルは、第1の偏光子、第1の光学補償層及び第1のネガティブCプレート、液晶セル、第2のネガティブCプレート、第2の光学補償層及び第2の偏光子とをこの順に有し、該第1の光学補償層が、第1のネガティブCプレートに接着剤を介さずに配置され、該第2の光学補償層が、第2のネガティブCプレートに接着剤を介さずに配置され、該第1の光学補償層および該第2の光学補償層がλ/4板として機能するコーティング層であり、それぞれの厚みが0.3~3μmであり、該第1のネガティブCプレートおよび該第2のネガティブCプレートがコーティング層であり、それぞれの厚みが0.5~10μmである。
